Do you skip, Mene? And I don't mean in the skipping ropes, style. I mean all-out truancy. Not showing up for classes or shifts.

Me, I skip school occasionally, but only if I have a good reason. For example, if I'll have nothing to do that class, or it's a substitute who I KNOW I will not get along with.

School? Never. My parents wouldn't allow it. They were willing to send me to school while I was still getting over the chicken pox. Mind you, I wasn't contagious. But I still had red dots on my skin. Which cleared up before school started, thank heavens. o3o;;

And I don't have a job.

I skip church though. I don't really have a church I go to anymore. The church where my parents go have a horrible youth group. I don't get along with the teacher or the class at all. My friend used to take me to her church, but her parents decided they didn't like me anymore and stopped. So now, I have nowhere to go.

Skipping the occasional class keeps me sane, I gotta say. I can't really skip when I don't have money though, since I don't have anywhere to go for an hour or two before the library opens so I'll usually hole up in a restaurant before going to the library.

I usually skip when I oversleep by A LOT. I mean, if you're already late, mind as well be absent for the entire class, and maybe the next one after that, etcetc. <_<;

It's nice to be tall, intimidating, and not-so-obviously 15; attracts less truant officers.

haha.. yeah, i do skip some classes, but my mother usually covers it up for me, by saying that I'm out sick.. otherwise i would get suspended (lives in one of those communities that kinda reminds you of the suburbs in Edward Scissorhands).. so yeah.. >_> kinda sad, but true.. actually, i just missed a saturday school today, so they are probably gonna call tomorrow and suspend me on monday.. XD yet i don't care..
I just think the whole thing is a joke, and that it actually unmotivated the students to come to school,.. ditching a class once in a while is good, as long as it doesn't have too bad consequences.,. (like getting a truancy ticket, which is $300 where i live.. gaaaah @[email protected])

Nope. Never have I skipped school. I'm not good with excuses or reasons. Plus, my parents wouldn't allow it. They won't let me stay off school even if I've got a cold! They say " Cold won't kill you! Take tablets and go to school!" ¬_¬

When I miss even one class, I stay behind for a while. Maybe because I'm in honors?

But yeah I go when I'm sick too.

I get paid for attending college, so no, i never skip. Even if i'm ill i'll turn up. I never skipped school either...I'd turn up to a lesson such as Dance, which i hated, and just do nothing, or linger in the toilets. I'd always turn up though.
I don't work at the moment, so i've not had the opportunity to skive it. I don't think i would though, unless i was really ill.

I'm in my senior year of high school so I can't afford to miss any classes,
however, I do skip art once in a while to hang out with friends,
or catch up on work in my other classes. x_x

I've technically played truant a few times, but I usually really am ill if I don't show up. Of course, there are also some unfortunate incidents where I've overslept for morning classes (I actually almost overslept for an exam once), but I do try to have decent attendance. =3

Only when that day no one is at school for a certain reason. Like semi-formal. Most of the people in my grade didn't show up to school that day so I only stayed for a half of the day.

I skip class occasionally. Sometimes I wake up late, and when it gets to a point that I know I can't speed on the freeway to beat the clock and get to class on time, I won't go. Other times, certain late-afternoon classes bore me so I also leave. Mind you I'm a college student, so attendance isn't really counted.

I admit, sometimes I skip my first few bells if I'm really tired or not feeling well. There have been a few occasions throughout the years I've pretended to be sick to get out of school, but I try not to miss school, I hate having to play catch-up. I tried to skip to go see Obama once, but it didn't work out, so I just ended up going.

I don't have a job, but if I did, I'd try not to skip. I'd want to save my sick days and such for when they were really needed, and I wouldn't want to put someone else in a squeeze because I decided to spend the day chilling out.

I dont usually skip school. I skip classes. Or, class really. I have leadership, which is where we plan anything and everything that ever happens at the school. And we really don't do anything in that class, so me and Alex drive down to the middle school to bug our choir teacher. We get permission to, making up an excuse, so it isn't really skipping, but...whatever. I skip church all the time if that counts.

I skipped class once this semester and that was only because it was the day before Thanksgiving break and everything we were doing in class I could do perfectly fine from at home.

I used to skip school about 10 days a year, give or take, back when I was in high school. It didn't really effect anything since missing those days didn't hurt my grades and the only penalty for missing that many days is being required to take final exams, which I needed to take anyways to make up for the fact that I never did my homework.

In college? I skipped entirely too much. Freedom kinda got to me all at once, since I was pretty sheltered as a kid. :)

Thankfully, these were all excused absences because my parents knew that skipping a few days wasn't a huge deal when it didn't bother my grades.

As for work, I generally didn't skip work because I like being dependable. Now I can't because there are only two of us and the workload is enough for about two and a half and I can't leave the other person by himself in that situation.

i have several awesome teachers that'll pretty much write me a pass whenever i ask them to, so long as it's not a really important class i'm asking to get out of.
i don't abuse that priveledge, though.

although a lot of the time i just...don't go to school in general. :C

Dystopia- My parents don't allow it either. I've figured out how the the schools system works when you skip, though, and my mom is none-the-wiser. ;3

Risque- I just go and get a slushie or a Beaver Buzz or something. If worse comes to worse, me and my friends just hide in the washroom on the second floor. (The only one that nobody stinks up.)

Shuzhi- At my school, you will only get suspended if you lie about skipping, or skip like, 20 times. You get expelled if you miss 30 days, for any reason other than being in the hospital or being in Mexico on vacation.

My mom wouldn't cover it up for me, unless I'm actually sick.

Inkjection- When my mother says that, I just leave the house for a half hour, so she thinks I'm at school, then come back, 'cuz she'll be on her way to work.

Queen- I'm capable of joining honors, but it would drive me insane.

Elwing- Ya, I never skip work, but school I have no complaints about missing. It's boring, it sucks, but it has to at least seem like I'm going in order for me to get an apprenticeship.

Sun- Paid for going to school? Ho shit.

Rizz- Same. I have all my easy classes this semester, and the hard-ass ones next semester.

Luenola- I've overslept right through a full day of Finals before. I got to retake one, and the other didn't affect my report card.

Sadistix- Does international skip-school day count?

Marguerite- I'm in Secondary School, but my attendance isn't that bad compared to half my friends. I skip every second or third week. One of my friends has skipped weeks at a time.

Iltu- I don't play catch up. Until my last two years of school, my grades don't mean much. As long as I keep up my B average, I'm fine. Besides, I'm lined up for an apprenticeship once I'm done school, so grades won't mean shit all.

Tut'ankhamun- I worship the FSM, and he doesn't have any churches for me to skip.

Sho-Shonojo- I've had days like that. On those days I usually don't play truant, though. I actually get written permission not to go.

Th0r/\/y R0$3- Schools not that good for me, so I really hate it. And math. Math's too repetitive.

squidbutt- My woodworks teacher is like that, as long as you don't straight up say that you are skipping. (For example, instead of "Could I get a slurpie?" you have to say "Could I get a slurpie from the library."

XD i have some teachers like that, too.
kids will be like "hey can i go get some fries from the cafeteria?"
and the teacher responds with "no, but you can go to the bathroom. -winkwink-"

but i have 2 or 3 teachers that i can just go up to and say, "hey, i don't wanna go to gym/health, can you write me a pass?" and they'll do it.

i don't do the catch-up thing much either. i'm in cosmetology school half the day, so that's the only grade i pay much attention to.

Sometimes I miss first period, but only if I was up until like...3:00 or 4:00 the previous day. Besides, I'm in religious quest and all we do is talk all period about things I already know. :0

squidbutt- I have about 20 forged notes under my computer desk that just need a date and a name added to them, and POOF. No more school for me that day. ;3 The only reason I have 20 though is because my friends might need them, and they can go for a pretty penny if you can find somebody looking for one.
