Everyone has basic urges other than their base, bestial ones (Eat, sleep, have sex, social urges, etc.)

What are yours and what activates them?

Mine are:

Urge 1: Go against popular opinion.
In debate, I get the urge to go against popular opinion, even if popular opinion is my personal opinion.

Urge 2: Lobby for homosexual rights.
When the debate is about homosexual rights, I must make arguments FOR homosexual rights.

urge 3: If both urges are activated, refute both sides.
When the debate is about homosexual rights and SUPPORT FOR Homosexual rights is the popular opinion, refute both sides and maske a nazi reference.

urge 4: If urge 3 is activated, but I don't want to get banned, I will ignore the argument
This is pretty self explanatory.

Oh, your first urge is one of my main urges. I absolutely must go against popular opinion.

So, I guess:

1. Go against popular opinion.
Some people say it's just me trying to be an individual, but the truth is, I just hate...I don't know. I guess I hate everything being the same.

2. Talk/Sing/Make noise.
I hate silence. Most often, I'm singing, but when I'm not, I'm talking. And it's usually about boys.

I'm sure there are more, but these are the more obvious ones for me. Oh, and...

3. Make Corrections.
I have serious Type A. Not necessarily OCD, but everything has to be perfect, and I'm always correcting people on grammar and everything.

That one is a little less persistent urge than the others.

- Animation. It does very positive things for my mind/.

- Travelling. It gives me the mental stimulation I need. Oh wait...since lack of income prevails, I don't get the mental stimulation.

- Fun hobbies/fish keeping. I dunno, it's just a lot of fun. Plus I'm compelled to keep thinking about wouldn't be exciting if X bred?.

- Standing up to injustice It just happens or sometimes doesn't due to circumstances relatating to job/income issues.

- Discipling mean people. It just happens naturally/. Then I'm like WHAT the ****...It's not my responsibility to teach every ill bred person to behave...Start ignoring them and stick to it. Ignoring them is SOOO hard.

1. Making noises/humming/whistling-
I always kind of have an urge to drum my fingers, whistle, sing, or hum.

2.Go against popular opinion-
It's not really about individualism, I guess it's just...I don't know. I usually don't agree with the opinion anyway.

I'll add more when I think of some.

1. Always contradict what people say just to make things interesting -
I can't help it. Sometimes the words just pop out and bam, here we have an interesting debate.

2. Judge a book by it's cover -
Literally. The urge to just ignore what's printed because of the cover is almost over-whelming. XD Maybe because I'm lazy.

3. Always side with a loved one, even if they're wrong -
If the argument is between two loved ones, I side with the one I love more.

1. Purposely avoid trends. It's sort of bad of me. When skinny jeans came out, I really liked them but didn't wear them for the longest time just because EVERYONE else did.

I can't really think of any more ;___;

Ugh, I do this too.

:( Usually I'd like to say I don't care what anyone else thinks about me, and for the most part I don't. But, I unless I REALLY, REALLY, adore something, I can't wear it if everyone else is doing it.

A lot of it is also because I hate when people are like, "You don't really like it, you're just doing it because everyone else is."

And although I understand 'you know you like it, and it isn't because of a trend, so that's all that matters'... That just really bugs me.

The other part to that is when you've liked something forever, and then everyone else likes it, and then no one believes you liked it before.

Let's see....

o1. Urge numero uno would be to draw/doodle
All the time.
Constantly.
x' D
Whenever I get a sheet of clean paper (ruled, print, or already typed on, like hand-outs) I MUST draw on it.
x' 3

o2. Urge deux, to smile and spread smiles.
x' D
I hate to see my friends or even people I DON'T know upset.
So I try to help if I can.

o3. Urge three isn't so good.
I really like to spellcheck/edit things, I can't help it, even when I KNOW I'm annoying the person getting their writing spell checked.
But seriously, if all you want is praise/someone to tell you it's absolutely great then don't bring it to me.
x' 3
On that note, the 'w' in the title is missing.

I can't keep my hands off the keyboard when I'm on the computer (my midi keyboard, not the typing one). Since I've got this thing I've done almost nothing but work on music.

#1: Defense of literature
If anyone takes a jab at literature I am almost automatically offended, though it depends highly on what novel/book they may be attacking. If it is a book that I know is not good I'll probably agree. As a English Literature and Writing major I am inclined to like almost any book I read.

#2: Go against the trend... or rather what is expected?
Example would be I cut my hair short (not too short, about jaw length) because it is almost expected for girls/women to have long wavy hair that luscious and just gorgeous.

#3: Decimate and ultimately destroy all perfumes that have a sexually explicit ad or connote something sexually explicit.
Aka I go against what society does. I absolutely despise the "Be Delicious" and "Red Delicious" perfumes by DKNY because of their adverisements and the fact that the scent is made after an apple... I won't go further into that.

#4: VIDEO GAMES... ie mortal kombat...
I prefer the more violent video games because they keep me entertained for the longest amount of time and I get into them more. Then again when I get frustrated... i get REALLY frustrated.

#5: Always be moving.
I really don't like sitting still a lot... that's all.

#6: Write a lot
Hey, what can i say? I'm an English Literature and Writing major (as stated before) and I love writing.
