Okay, Hi everyone! I'm not on Menewsha much, but this sort of thing is an emergency to me.
I'm going to Ohayocon on January 30th and I am really pumped because it's going to be my first anime convention.
Thing is: I don't want to go as just a normal person. I want to go as some sort of anime character. Like Chi from the Chobits series or something, but I don't know if I can buy a costume like that, or if I have to make one. If I do have to make one, where can I get the products for it?

If you can help me in ANY way, please do.
Thank you!!

depends on the charcter, I made my own ball head for my shadow costume, or I sew in accessories to my clothes, and such, it is hard to say, it depends on your costume.

well, if you want to make your own costume, i would advice choosing something that is not too hard to make, if you are not good at sewing stuff., if you have the money to buy a costume, there are several good online places to get them.. just go on google and search 'cosplaying anime' or something ^.^ it kinda depends on what you want to be though.. haha

You could try making it. Like, if you wish to be Chi from Chobits, then it shouldn't be hard to get materials for it.

You can buy them from art stores, but it would be wise get a reference picture and work out measurements for it.

Or, the other option is trying to find a costume store.

Either that, or get someone to make it for you like a dress maker but it could be costly though.

a really good place to find cosplay is ebay.
you can always try sango(from Inu-Yasha)
try getting a black full body stretchy suit then you can make the armor plates can be made easily from stuff at a arts and crafts store. you can get a kirara plushie at a comic/anime store, or online.
and the weapon get a big slab of styrofoam and start carving.
plus the hair is really easy if you can put your hair in a ponytail.
but if you friends that can sew, you might want to ask for help if you are going to make your own.
well thats my $0.02
^-^

I'm afraid there's really not a whole lot of room for discussion in this thread, and as that's what the GD is all about, i'm going to be locking this down.

If the OP has any questions regarding this, feel free to PM me.
