So like about half an hour ago, I saved my essay that I was working on since 5 PM - 12 AM. I saved it on my USB and was lazy to save it on my computer. Stupidest. Move. Ever. I removed my USB without clicking the "safely removed" button. And I lost EVERYTHING. Oh my fudging god!!!! //add in excessive profanity and violence here//
I want to burst into tears but it is so hard right now. Luckily it still have the work I saved previously but like, I revised it and added a hundred more paragraphs earlier that it's pointless!! Now I have to do it all over and it's almost 1 AM. ;-; My parents already screamed me off so I have to retype the whole thing secretly so they won't bite my ass about being stupid if they wake up. I have to finish it by today so I can get it edited and hand it tomorrow on Friday! Oh else my I'm dead! ;0;
Anyone else gotten in trouble when the big projects came rolling around and losted their work?

Ah I soo hate when that happens. If it makes you feel any better my Marine Science teacher told us that she wrote a 20 page report, which was required to become a Marine Science teacher, and her professor spilled coffee all over it before he could read it and she had no other copy so she had to rewrite the whole report again c:
Personally I did have that happen to me a couple of times but I can't remember anything specific....

That does suck assuming back when it was only type writers. D: Well, I'm almost done but it's coming out pretty bad. My creative juices are gonnnee. I used big words earlier and now it sounds like I'm talking instead of it being formal like it should be. x.x

That happened to me just the other day, actually. I was writing a super-long reply to a PM on Gaia, and Firefox decided to get an error of some kind and shut down right when I was almost finished. I got so mad I punched the monitor, and made a scratch on it with my wedding ring. I also bruised my hand.
I hate it when shit like that happens. :o

Homg, I know! That happened to me in the past also with PMs! It frustrates the hell out of me! So I just reply like in a couple of sentences instead of rewriting the whole thing. What kills me most is when I'm roleplaying. x.x
I hope you are ok. D: (And the computer didn't take much damage) >3<

Wow, that amazingly sucks Sadist.
I must say I've done that before... Totally forgot to save something properly and than just ruin it all. XD hahaha. I'm a fast typest though so as long as I remember what long tangent I was going on I can usually re-type everything up before the deadline...

Eh, I'll live. :D I've dislocated a knuckle from punching a REALLY BIG wooden post that held up the verandah at my parent's house. I just popped it back in place (which HURT) and then had a VERY bruised hand for awhile.
The sad thing is, I forget what made me punch something that I should've had the common sense to know better than to punch that.

You're not alone. ^^;
I once started a paper at home with just the outline of what I wanted to do, after which I went to the library at school. I stuck my USB-stick into a computer and worked and worked. After a few hours, I had the first version nearly finished and I had to hurry off to class, so I saved the file, safely removed the USB stick and went home, satisfied because I had, for once, NOT waited until the last minute to write a paper.
Then, in the evening, I got home. I opened my USB stick on my laptop, but the file was nowhere to be found. The outline I'd made earlier was on the stick, but not the first version of the paper. I guess it was saved to the computer instead of to the USB stick... it was too late to go back to the library, and all the user files on those computers are automatically deleted when the computers are shut down. ;_;

Once or twice I was playing a game on the PC, I got really far and had an awesome score, too and someone tripped the circuit breaker. I wanted say "Oh s***!" and this probably was a legitimate reason to do so. Another time was when I was nine and I had dyslexia when it came to writing 's' since I was six (It stopped when I was 10). Dad had me write a page of 's' written the right way, not backwards. I'd almost finished it when I knocked over a glass of milk I was drinking onto the page. I ran to my room, flung myself on my bed and started crying, because I thought the parents would be pissed off (I was a high-strung creature then). They weren't, of course, Dad said it was okay and accidents happen, and Mom said the same and gave me some Flipz (those chocolate-covered pretzels that I freakin' love!).

Yup, it wasn't really a project though. It was with Nanowrimo, I had gotten a TON written and I forgot to save it, lost what I had and had to start all over. -.-

I. Had. To. Redraw. This. Twice.
It's big and I had no way of covering it up while walking to school. So it got wrecked the first two times. On the third, I folded it in half, on a wierd angle, put it in a bin-bag and took it to school. In the link I posted you can see the dent on the left from where it folded.
;___________;
Only about 4 hours work per picture. But still I was all ARGHHHHHHHHH

I totally know what you mean, I have to take a sedative to calm me down when that happens because I'm so strung up on it. It's B. A. D., just awful. I've had that happen a few times. And ended up pulling all-nighters, I didn't take my pills so I wouldn't fall asleep (my pills make me really sleepy) and since without the pills, I'm actually an insomniac, it works out great!
Hope you finish(ed?) in time!:)

Yeah, that's no fun and all and a very stressy thing to happen. But it's only one night's work, could be a lot worse. Probably it just happened because you were tired, it was late, and you had been hassled by your parents. It's a warning to stay alert so it doesn't happen to something irreplaceable next time.

Ugh, yes. Thankfully my English teacher is very understanding, and she knew I don't lie, so she gave me an extra week to work on my project.

I usually only lose small things, but this made me think of a different topic.
I worked on my project on Algeria for a solid month. On powerpoint it was 112 slides. In french. I had 6 pages of speech worked out. It was perfect. I had Algerian cookies and Algerian music to accompany my presentation.
I got a 70.
Because I said 'Oh yeah!'
Which isn't in french. :/

One time, I was working on a paper for English and the computer randomly restarted on me while I was working on it. But when I went back to Microsoft word, it was still there.. *phew*
Lucky me, I guess. XD I haven't had any experience like yours before.

What happened to me most recently is that I made a spelling error in an essay I wrote for a graduate school application. I didn't discover the error until tonight, but I sent the essay yesterday morning.

Oh dear, same thing here, except I was working on some statistics using excel. Because I was half asleep after working on it for hours, I clicked on the x button, thinking that I'd only close on worksheet, when I actually closed it all. And I said 'No' do not save any changes. It took me like 5 seconds to realize what I did. And right at that moment, my face just went O.O
