Do you believe in good or bad luck? I feel like I encounter soo much bad luck once I am independent. Like I just started second semester of freshman year and I re-encountered all the bad luck that happened to me during the first few days of freshman year.

Like I would lock myself out of my own room, slam my finger in a bathroom stall door, get a severe nosebleed, get caught passing gas, living in a dorm filled with asian haters, spilling my food everywhere in the dining hall, making friends with the wrong kids, and getting lost and losing my way back to my dorm and getting back at 3 in the morning.

So yea I feel like either I am really clumsy/stupid,, or someone out there is just like me =] So tell me about how your first days on independence was and all the bad or good luck you were faced with!

Poor Sharpie, that first year is allways rough. I spent most of mine hiding in my room, cause I knew no one. The locking out thing is normal if you got the kind of door I had this summer. You could open it and it would stay locked so you wouldn't notice it say if you ran out side for a moment to let people in or over the the bathroom. The worst part is between certain hours they charge you to unlock the door (Unless the PA feels sorry for you, you your roommate locked you out.)

I would get lost probably if my campus wasn't so small >>; heck I still get lost in the science building ^^;

awh. xD i don't mean to laugh at you but that sounds cute. .-.

it'll pass eventually and you'll find your group of friends who won't care if you're asian or not. and you'll be able to find your way around.

think of it this way, when things are that bad, things will only get better right? :3

hmm it seems like perhaps you were just excited that you started the year but felt slightly out of place since you were being a loner, and when that happens you make all kinds of mistakes, so i think its just the fact you were on your own you were clumsy that doesnt' mean you will be making the same mistakes later into the year when you have more friends and got the whole school thing down again :]

Oh, you poor thing! I had similar problems when I first lived in a dorm. My roommate and I were two of about four white girls on our wing, and the rest were Asians and Indians mostly, so we felt like outcasts. I managed to lock myself out of the room several times. I even lost my key and had to buy a new one. I had trouble finding my classrooms, so I was late for class. Also, I was part of a program for younger kids, so we were hated on campus because we were considered curve breakers. I had to put up with snide remarks as I walked past regular college students (even "jokes" about how the college students wanted to stab the TAMSters, which is what we were called). It did get better, though. I got used to all of it after a few days. My roommate and I even got so comfortable on campus that we randomly broke out into song together.
