Last night I had a nightmare about Hitler X_X
I think I'm just worried about my history class... but last night I had a dream that Hitler took over the world while I was away somewhere. When I came back he had moved everyone into this giant gymnasium, like a shelter. And when I talked to my mom she said that while I was away he had killed her parents and all my aunts, uncles, and family.
@[email protected] I was very, very upset. We're not Jewish, but most of us don't have blond hair and blue eyes, and we're a mixture of Western Europeans, Native Americans, and escaped slaves. (My family helped run the Underground Railroad. -brags-) I still remember a nightmare I had when I was little. Two, actually. One was about the Easter bunny. He was this giant monster with warts and claws and he was roaming the hallways, hiding eggs. I woke up from it and had to go to the bathroom, but I was too scared to go out into the hall. xD And other was about me riding my bike, and when I came home my family had turned into a family like the Adam's Family, but really mean. My dad (who's a big tall guy, especially to a little kid) turned into this Frankenstein monster and my mom turned into a really mean witch who wanted to stick me into a boiling pot. So, here's the discussion, since I couldn't find a thread that already talked about dreams and nightmares. What's the worst nightmare you had, or the most recent? Do you remember a specif nightmare from your childhood? My recent nightmares are always about someone dieing, like my family or my cats. x_x Answer to poll: most estimates favor the 50-70 million. Allied side: 61 mil Axis side: 11 mil Soviet Union: 23 mil Asia: 11-20 mil |
My worst nightmare that I can actually remember came true, though I wasn't sure which relative it involved at the time. It was a very accurate dream of a viewing right before a funeral. My problem was that I never got to see who was in the casket - just as I was about to see the body, my alarm went off and I had to walk to school. It was so real, I woke up crying and sure someone had already died.
Turns out I was actually right, and later that day got news that my father had passed away. Scary stuff, that. |
My fear of clowns started when I had a very scary dream about Ronald McDonald back when I was really little. Trufax.
He still looked the same but was really scary in a psycho sort of way and was chasing me all around school and around this park. I had to hid in the girls bathroom so he would go away. |

I'm so sorry to hear that. ._. It's weird how sometimes you get kinda... intuition, I guess you can call it, like that. I generally believe dreams are just unfiltered thoughts your brain has while your body is resting. But dreams like that, you can't explain. x.x @Rabid Rainbow- xD Aw, that's cute. I've always thought Ronald McDonald was creepy. I never considered him a clown, though. I don't know why. I think it's because I like clowns, but not him. xP |
Right after I watched the season finale of House where Amber dies (highlight for the spoiler) I had an awful dream about my mom dieing.
And considering that my mom has heart problems and I had to call 911 for her when I was in fourth grade, it was an awful dream. I think I woke up crying. |
@Larry: I know, it still weirds me out. Normally, I'm all for things like 'dreams are the subconcious mind sorting through the days events', because it explains things like my dream about being chased through my Aunt's house by a low level monster from a video game, but things like that one about the funeral scare me a bit. XD
@Rabid: Scary! I probably would have done the same, given that dream. Yeep. |
I've had a dream about trying to avoid being put in a concentration camp (it didn't look like one though and I only know it was one because in my dream, I identified it as one.) It was an ordinary, non menacing building, and I think I recall a parking lot. I ran a lot. That's about all I remember.
One time when I was like 7, I woke up from a dreaming saying "not the flowers" or something like that. Weird. Oh and when I was really little, I had a dream about birds flying into my house. It scared me for some reason. Really scared me. Last dream I recall having (don't remember what it was about,) I woke up laughing. Must have been pretty damn funny. I don't have dreams too often, and when I have ones I manage to remember having, they often aren't bad. |
I remember this one I had when I was like.. 5 years old. Now that I think about it, it's pretty funny.
A tornado was chasing me. It had an evil, angry cartoon face and it said it was going to eat me. I eventually stopped running and said 'You've eaten me, my friends and my family. There is nothing left to take.' And then the tornado 'ate' me. My mom woke me up cause I was crying in my sleep. xD And over the summer this year, I went to Canada. Or rather, a campsite really really close to Canada. And so, we went into Canada one of the days we were there. In the middle of the day, I was getting a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. And by the time we got back to our campsite, we found out a tornado had touched down right by our campsite. I was terrified, but luckily, the only thing that was damaged beyond repair was the auwning of our camper and the clothes my mom hung out to dry. The clothes were no where to be seen. xD Another nightmare I had is where I was fighting with one of my friends because he ruined a story I was writing. I remember him saying in my dream that he would 'Never speak to me ever again.' And then soon enough, the next day, he started acting like a jerk to me. o.o; |
I never have bad "dreams"... it's more what happens when I wake up. Like for instance, when I was little I slept on the top bunk. I woke up one night about 2 feet from the ground... >.< then I hit it...
My sister had all the bad dreams... >.> too bad I was eaten/stabbed/shot/killed in almost all of them. In one the house ate me >.< |
I've had some where I've seen my family dying horrible deaths.
The first one was of my grandmother and grandfather, someone broke into our house or it had been bombed something, It still had a roof but it was on fire and entire parts of walls where missing. Maybe it was just an explosion. Anyway there were three troopers with guns running past me to the front door. Then I walked through the living room into the bed room there is where I saw my grandpa lying huddled in a corner stabbed to death. Then I went into the bath room that was on fire and my grandma was pinned to ceiling with small sharp knives, she was also on fire and had been pretty badly cut up. Then in another dream my mom died. We were running and we finally ran into a bathroom stall. She made me go into a different stall then her and demon looking creature came in, who was my dad, and knocked the door to her stall in. I think he ate her, or stucked her up. Then I started crying "No daddy, no!" Thats how I knew he was my dad then I started running away :/ The last really bad one about my family dying was with my little brother. I woke up and cried from this one D: My little brother's my everything. Anyway, I don't remember it all but yeah; We were in this tiny gypsy trailer and I we were hiding from someone, then my little brother got turned into a pig and ran away from me right into w/e we were running away froms arms. Then she cut him up and hung him upside down. :/ |
I hate the kind of dreams where i'm falling off something (it happens alot. actually) and as i hit the ground, i wake up. but my chest feels like gravity is seriously against it. And sometimes them dreams lead onto my seizures... scary+A MILLION. |
Today, in drama we talked abuot Hitler. (Sorta. We were talking about famous quotes, and my teacher came up with the one where Eddie Izzard is talking about what he would find in Hitler's diary. "Death death death death death. Lunch. Death death death. Afternoon tea. Death. Death death. Short shower...")
My worst nightmare was when I was in, I think 6th grade, and I dreamed I had sex with this guy with the guy that I liked watching us. The worst part is, the kid I "did it" with in my dream killed his mom and sister a little over a year ago and is now in jail. But, for a 12 year-old, dreams like that are pretty traumatic. |
I've had several weird dreams that I often woke up freaking out about. They're almost all really vivid. One involved lots of really gross bugs crawling on me and...eating me, I think? Anyway, I was at a camp with my class, and my friend in the top bunk woke me up and said I'd been crying in my sleep. I got lice from that camp. :|
Another one some "friends" and I were in like this alternate reality, but it was a skunk's stomach and we had to get out, and when we did we found out that we just went into a chicken's stomach, but it was kind-of the same alternate-worldness. And there was toxic gas. :x One dream I had twice that scared the pants off me the first time I had it was in a medieval setting. I was living with my "family" (not my actual family) in this village around a castle and behind the castle wall; one day this gypsy lady shows up. Soon after people start dying, and I mean being brutally murdered/slaughtered/shredded (like, stuff a young girl shouldn't even know about yet, let alone what it looks like...yeah, it was accurate D: ). Well, one of the townspeople sees that it's this freaky-ass werewolfish thing that's killing everybody, and one night it's coming for me and we shoot it with a cannon (though the effect was more like a handgun. oh, dream-logic! xD), and when we go see the body, it turns out the creature was the gypsy lady. oO I woke up scared crapless. But I had it again years later; wasn't scared the second time around. :D |
Ohhh, that sucks.
Nightmares that happen to small children can be really devastating. I remember a WWII related dream I had when I was about six- I was in a muddy concentration camp, and some guy who I guess was my boss called me in and yelled at me a bunch about some 'Jewish quota' or something and I remember running into a barracks thing with children in and they started running all different directions and I was chasing them and kicking them down and shooting them and stuff o_____o;; Then a bunch of stuff happened, I don't remember and I died. Hung, I think. I remember it hurting. It was really weird- how did I imagine this? Nightmares can be terrible. I'm sorry you had one .___. |

Two of my friends and I talked about Hitler a lot my senior year. I'm not even sure how it started. My one friend always drew Hitler mustaches and eyebrows on stuff like our little puppets for a presentation in French class. Then, my other friend made the whole Hitler thing really perverted and got on the other friend's nerves... For nightmares... I mostly have them when I fall asleep watching shows like 48 Hours or The New Detectives... Especially after watching America's Most Wanted. I'll have dreams about being kidnapped and having to kill the kidnapper to get away or just really freaky stuff. Then, I wake up and can't fall back asleep, 'cause I'm paranoid something is going to happen. I've never had any Hitler/World War II related dreams, though. |
You know what's so odd? I had a dream about Hitler a couple nights ago! =O
I dreamed I was a girl trying to get away from the Nazis and when I was found, I pretended to be mentally slow. Hitler decided he really liked me so he kept me around and I kept on pretending to be dumb while secretly plotting to contact the "rebels" to bring him out of power. Crazy stuff man. |
I have night terrors on occasion, and they get so bad that my husband has to wake me up to keep me from hurting myself from all the flailing around I do. The worst ones are the ones I have when I am actually partially conscious. I hallucinate things, like vines coming up from under the bed or spiders crawling all over me, or hands grabbing at me from the dark, and what is the most terrible about it, is I am technically conscious. My eyes are open and I see stuff in my room and I am moving and whatnot, so it's not just a dream about being in my room and seeing this stuff. It's being in my room, partially awake, and seeing this stuff. Which makes it feel so much more vivid, which is terrifying.

@Cricket - That sounds incredibly freaky. |
It is, it's incredibly freaky and it scares the shit out of my husband. Of course, I've started theorizing that maybe I'm not hallucinating, maybe when I'm in that almost sleeping state, I am actually seeing the energy from some of the spirits inhabiting our building. I've heard that that point of almost sleeping is very in tune with the spiritual world, and it's usually at that point that people can project themselves. I can't project myself, but maybe I become more in tune spiritually with our guests. I know we have at least a spirit or two, I can kind of sense them when they are in the room with me. But then again, I haven't detected any malign spirits, so I don't know. Maybe they are just hallucinations.
