St. Patrick's Day this week

Yep time to bring out the green and drink a pint of Guinness with that Corn Beef and Cabbage. I do I wear something green so my dad doesn't pinch me(I hate it when he does that) anyway I love to help making Irish food with my mom and once and a while have a Guinness( I am over the age limit to drink trust me)
Also it reminds me of the time I went to Dublin during St. Patrick and marched with the U of A marching band, I had a blast there and I got to kiss the blarney stone as well.
So you guys celebrate this holiday or not?

Michy Lea 03-16-2009 01:21 AM

I don't really celebrate it. I wear green just so that I don't get pinched, but that's the extent of it.

were supposed to wear green? I forgot >.< thanks for reminding me.

MisterOtter 03-16-2009 01:38 AM

I only wear green on St. Patrick's, I'm going to try to do more this year, hopefully I'll get to try some Corn Beef. :3

LOl I think that's odd and silly your dad pinches you when not wearing green. My parents don't say anything. I don't really own anything green actually... Even though it's my favorite color. Hmm. odd.

Nurse Ratchet 03-16-2009 02:12 AM

I only dress up in green, that's as far as I go for celebrating irl... I'll usually do online events, though. I'm not one to drink, as far as St. Patty's Day goes. c:

Ewwie, not a fan, i'd rather drink green drinks all night

amyrex2 03-16-2009 03:22 AM

Here in Cheektowaga we use any holiday to get drunk. Too bad I don't drink. I might go watch the drunks do karaoke the night before, it will be my husbands birthday. And as I said any reason to drink is a good one here. Some yoyos will start the celebration early.

Yume` 03-16-2009 04:49 AM

No I don't celebrate it.
I'm not old enough to drink alcohol anyway, and I'm not even Irish. XD
I might wear green stuff online for the holiday, but other than that I really don't celebrate it.

Sakura_Madison 03-16-2009 06:45 AM

Drinking may be fun, but drinkin' with your friends in Vegas is so much fun. XD

I will be wearin' me green or else a pinch might bring the wrath of others.

Captain Howdy 03-16-2009 06:48 AM

I'm not Irish, I don't drink, I don't like parades and I think corned beef is icky, so St. Paddy's day means very little to me.

I will wear green though. Just to ensure that others keep their damn, dirty hands off me. :)

It's tomorrow. One day. Then it's my sister's birthday on the 18th!

Guivre 03-16-2009 03:32 PM

By the time St Patty's actually gets here in Chicago I feel burnt out, but I'm not Irish or a drinker. We have more like St Patrick's week here.

Sometimes I wear green, sometimes I don't. I don't care. When I was in grade school I felt pressured to wear green but you know, not my holiday.

d2hiriyuu 03-18-2009 01:10 AM

I wish I saw the river turn green in chicago, but it happened on the weekend and not on the actual day. I am also not old enough to drink, so no beer or celebrating for me.

Ra Fortuna 03-18-2009 01:44 AM

I forgot that today was Saint Patricks Day... I wore purple...
((I forgot because I slept all day yesterday because I was sick))
I didn't hear about this whole pinching people if they don't wear green thing until this year. I got pinched once and I was like "What the heck was that for?!?!?"

Is that new??? O.o

Country_Bella_Rose 03-18-2009 03:31 AM

My family usually has corned beef and cabbage today, but I'm at college, so I missed out.... T__T Also, I don't own any green, which I didn't discover until this morning when I went to get dressed. I didn't get pinched though, which is amazing. I love Guinness, and I can't stand Midori... ^__^ Buuut, I can't exactly afford Guinness right now either, yay college. Plus, I've got class at nine tomorrow morning, so I can't really get drunk either. However, since I didn't have any green to wear, I wore my Pens shirt... aaaaaaand, we won. ^_____^

Encaitare 03-18-2009 03:34 AM

I prefer Irish Lamb Stew! I hate Corn Beef. XD

:Ninja: 03-18-2009 01:17 PM

I wore green. I was pinched still. :[

Elmira Swift 03-18-2009 03:30 PM

Usually just wear green. I don't drink much, but I am not a fan of anything poured into a glass that one should use a knife and fork to consume - Guiness is just a little bit too thick for me.

Izumi 03-18-2009 03:43 PM

Mmmm Midori sounds awesome. Japanese beer has such a wonderful taste.

I don't really do anything out of the ordinary IRL for St. Patty's, but it's a good excuse to make some corn beef and cabbage. We just had goulash this year though, but that's just due to what was around the house last night and what we felt up to cooking.

I would love to watch the river being painted green in Chicago, or go to a parade. That sounds like a lot of fun! :)
