Week 1

For my first week I'd like to address something to the government that no one may have guessed. There is a very strong implication on all age limits. You know ages 19 and 21 both become legal age. Now I'm just going to use Canada's age limits because there's really something they hide by setting those ages. Okay at age sixteen you learn how to drive by 17 you'll be fulling driving on your own. Then at age 18 you are able to vote, buy a gun, and also buy porn. With that the government is implying to slowly become a repast and have the ability to shot people after. And by voting you'll be thanking them for what a good job they've done. Okay on to age 19 the drinking age. Now you can also by smokes at this age. What I see there is that the government whats us to kill other people before being able to kill themselves......and we thank them.

The Age limit's on things are kind of kooky. I live in New Zealand and most of our age limit's on things are pretty messed up. You can legally have sex and drive a car at 16, but you can't drink or vote until 18. And at 13 (with parent's consent) you can get married, without parental consent you can do it at 16, which means yes, in NZ you can get married before you can vote.

But at least it's not Sweden. There the legal limit for sex is 12.

I don't think most of the world abides by age limits, really. The only thing they can really cop you on is the voting thing.
It's all just a bunch of lies at the end of the day really. Kids who want to have sex are going to have sex. If they wanted to drink they'd do it. Age limit for guns? Hello, Columbine.
These days, you can pretty much get anything through different avenues regardless of age.

Well mostly everyone knows how stupid America's laws are. You can go off to war and die before you can drink, you can also start a bad habit with cigarettes before you can drink as well. I personally think cigarettes are a lot more unhealthy and addicting than alcohol. And you can legally have sex before you can legally look at porn. That's one thing I've never understood. -_- Because apparently looking at people going at it is so much worse than engaging in it yourself!

It's really a moot point. This whole thing with laws is just so the government doesn't have to feel guilty when things go wrong for the common man; it's 'cause they broke the law. But the root of the problem really isn't in the people breaking the laws, it's the government and the ass backwards way they do things. Let's not even get started on Prop 8 and the upturned legalisation of gay marriage. If you think about it, shouldn't church and state be separate anyway?

It's because God says 'no' to watching other people do 'it', despite the fact that several priests have assured me over the years that God is watching us all the time.

=\ I honestly think most laws are redundant, but nobody wants to have a good sit down and actually do some real work and try and fix them to fit modern day society. Just remember, it's still illegal to catch a fish with a lasso if you live in Tennessee.

...who in their right minds would try to lasso fish? That should be outlawed. It's so stupid there's nothing else but for it to be outlawed.
Laws are stupid. I resolve to break as many petty laws each day as I can. Starting with jaywalking. Some day, I will egg my neighbor's house and toilet paper a business establishment. In the name of Banksy I will vandalise public property.

I really want to break that law against having an ice cream cone in your back pocket. >_> I don't think my state has that law. I think Georgia and a few others have it though. I will probably never get around to doing it when I'm in those places though. I think I'd feel so silly actually doing it. But I kind of want to anyways. XD

rofl. My problem was some laws is that somebody had to try it before they outlawed it, or they never would have outlawed it in the first place.
That means some in Tennessee tried to lasso a fish.
PS: it's also illegal to give and receive oral sex in Tennessee as well x_X If you need a law to break, I would suggest that one, for the amusement value alone.

zomg that is awesome! And here I didn't think laws got quite that stupid. I wonder how that one originated.

XD I have no idea. There are so many of those though. There's sites that have all the dumb laws listed on them. Can't think of them off the top of my head but you could probably Google "dumb laws" and find one of those sites. I think (and hope) that most of those dumb laws are no longer enforced and that someone was just too lazy to bother taking them off the books.

zomfg.
If I were an unworldly person, I'd gather just from this discussion that a) people like to break laws, b) people in Tennessee are idiots(lasso'ing fish) and c) people in Tennessee are prudes.
They might as well just outlaw foreplay while they're at it. And intercourse too.

yeah, but that's the point isn't it? because some guy earning to much money to do nothing can't be bothered actually doing his job, we've got alot of really stupid laws to deal with and just think of all the vindictive cops and lawyers and things out there who can use them against people?

Actually i'm pretty sure in some states they are illegal. I know there's one, I can't remember where, that it's illegal to have sex in any position other than Missionary.

Edit: lol I just found one of those sites. In NY it's illegal for women to wear highheels within the city limits.

Well, I'll tell ya, that's gonna make it a lot harder to have babies.
It gets boring after a while if you can't have variety. I suppose that's why people break the law.

You know it actually makes me wanna become a cop, you know, so I can start enforcing all those stupid laws. I wouldn't last long, but it would certainly make a statement in the press.

Oh, is it illegal to have a couch on the veranda, or to arrest people for having couches on the veranda? ;)

Where did you get that information about Sweden? The legal age for sex is 15 here, and that's with another person who's not 18 yet.

Edit: And I feel sorry for you others that live over on that side of the world. Here you can't drive, drink or do anything until you're 18. :|

In the States the legal drinking age is 21, but you can be drafted to fight and die in the military at 18. This I have always found to be completely ridiculous, you can go to your death but not have a toast to a life lived before you go.

In the state I live in you can be married at 16 with one parents consent and it doesn't matter how old the person you're marrying is, but you have to wait 5 years before being able to buy alcohol.

I personally think they should pick one age to declare that you are officially an adult be it 18 or 21.

LOL, America has some stupid laws like, "It's illegal to eat an emu in some states and blah..."

I mean, come on, what's with the "...illegal in some states." rule? It's bad enough we have to go through culture shock, now this!? It's just plain ridiculous, no offense...

(Sorry for being too judgmental, I don't live in America.)

It's about states' rights which is part of what our country was built on. We're not supposed to have a big dictator sitting in Washington DC telling us what to do (aka "National Sovereignty.")
