Crazy but true: When I was pregnant with my son I saw the cutest little beanie baby that matched the nursery I was putting together. I went nuts looking for it! Flea markets (didn't have internet back then unfortunately), shops, catalogs, you name it. I never did find it and it irritated me to no end. Last year, for his 7th birthday he came home with it. Apparently it was in the presents grab bag in his class room. Kids reach in blindly and pick out a lovely little gift from the teacher. I called everyone I knew and let them know what happened. :P

YES. My friend had this really really intriguing picture in his signature. It was nothing too special, but the art style was unique and pleasing, and the picture told a story, but not the whole story, so left me wanting to know what was going on. Well, he decided he would never tell me where he got it from.

But, praise the heavens, I stumbled on the source completely by accident last week <3 (Turned out to be a webcomic)

Nowadays, I'm not sure what I'd do with it really, but I still want it.

I have one of these, it's green. It was really fun, playing with my digimon and fighting. I had the little computer that went with it too.

Um, not really, I can usually find what I want. Having the money for it is another story.

So, anyone else go through something similar? That elusive rare product that you really wanted, but could never have for some reason? Too expensive, maybe? Or, just impossible to find?

Asking a shopaholic this would be pretty crazy since i have way too many things that I want ^^'' The funny thing is that the situation occurs here on Mene too >.<''

Well, I'm going to talk about things that I have wanted for a long time instead of things that i merely just want.

Hana Yori Dango anime boxset

Its available online yes but at such an expensive price that is just too much to pay for a regular boxset of anime. the things is that it was never released here in Malaysia and it was almost impossible to find any stores selling this. And when I was able to find it, I was so happy until I read that the back that the subtitles and audio were in Chinese >.<''

Rocking horse Shoes

Well, I had a chat in the lolita thread in Mene awhile back about this and fiarra introduced me to rocking horse shoes. I found them to be instantly pretty! O.O And I looked at the normal lolita stores here in the city. Unfortunately the trend has not caught on here yet so it is impossible to find. I also forgot to ask my boyfriend to help me buy a pair when he went on vacation to England >.<''

Sneaker Boots (Snoots)

I have the money, they are definitely available but my shoe size is too big and whenever I remember that I want a pair, my mom is always with me and stares at me with such a disapproving look on here face. She thinks of them as 'hooker shoes' =.=''

Oh yes. You can find them. Now depending on which particular model you're after, you may run into some problems. For instance, the American V1 and V2 tamagotchis are typically harder to find and therefore cost more then more recent versions.

I had something I had wanted for a very long time, and thought it would of been impossible to find it. It's an ultra rare tamagotchi called the Yasashii that was only released in Japan. Ok Tamagotchi was released in two waves - The first wave is known as "Vintage" to any collector, and then you have the present day Tamagotchi version we know now. There was a gap in between the two. I believe they stopped production by 1998 and the newest wave didn't start until 2004. Well the very last 'vintage' model to be released was the Yasashii, and because interest in Tamagotchis had waned to a dull roar there wasn't many purchased of this type. They will easily go for $250 or more on Ebay.

What I did was save up enough money to purchase it, and I found a trusted Ebay seller whom I had done alot of business with and contacted him when I found a Yahoo Japan auction for the Yasashii crop up. With shipping and tip to him I managed to get one for only $160. I was so incredibly happy....and thanks to his help I do have a 'complete' collection. Now when I say complete, I mean I have one working model of every version released. Versions have numerous shell designs, and I'm not even going to attempt to collect one of each shell. I do have other really rare tamagotchis in my collection, but the Yasashii is considered the 'crown jewels' of any collectors collection. =3

Rawr....I now want an ipod touch!!!!!!!!!

Michy Lea 05-26-2009 09:24 PM

I want Third Watch (first season; second season won't be released until July or so), October Road (only the first season has been released so far; it's kinda cheap but that's because it's only six episodes), and Instant Star (only seasons 1 & 2 are released so far) DVDs and all the Instant Star soundtracks (1 through 3; 4 has yet to be released). Unfortunately, I don't have the money to buy them, and they're a bit hard to find where I live. Although, I haven't tried looking at the new Best Buy in town. I'd also like the Gilmore Girls entire series on DVD when I get the money. The ones that come in the purse-looking packaging.

Yeah, I've been looking all over for the names of the panda earmuffs and the panda slippers and those white winged anklets that your wearing. I can't find it. ^^;

I've also been looking for the name of this big joker hat that I thought looked pretty cute. >>;

*sigh*

Horo 05-27-2009 05:46 PM

UGH!
I totally know what you mean there.
I'll be browsin' the webz and see clothes and stuff on people that I decided at that moment that I NEED! ((Like a rainbow bikini)).
So I searched everywhere for that rainbow bikini, even on eBay, and I couldn't find one!
I found one seller for rainbow bikini BOTTOMS, but not the top.. How lame.

I later found one in Wal Mart, so I'm good to go. xD

But stuff like that.
I've been trying to find a Catbus giant plush thing that I could use as a body pillow, my friend Kyoko has one, and eBay sells all sorts of Catbus plushes, but none of the ones I actually want. xD

It's poopy.

I love eBay.

The Panda Ear Muffs are in Headworks for 200g. The Panda Slippers, Dove Anklewings, and Jester Hat are all past CIs. You'll have to find a seller of those in the Menewshan Exchange.

I have on the Panda Headphones, so I think that's what she meant; not the earmuffs. ;sweat: Other than that, though, yeah, those are the names. =)

@Stupid- Hahaha. xD Why would they only sell the bottoms? O_o Sounds kind of strange to me...

But yes, it seems that most of the problems here that everyone is talking about is money issues, and that's always such a bummer, because most of the time, you can't do anything about that. D;

Ah yes, as to what I originally wanted when I started this thread, no, I still haven't found it, but I did find the second best thing to it on ebay! xD Hopefully I will find it on there ones of these days, though. ;_;

Alright, so I got tired of not finding any dresses I loved at storesites, so I ended up googling random things like "cute dresses" and "beach casual dresses" and found this absolutely adorable dress that I love and would buy in a minute. It was a strapless lightlightlightlightlight pink (maybe even white) with tiny black polka dots with pink trim, these flower things at the bottom and a gorgeous ribbon bow dress. I fell in love with it. Then I found out it wasn't from a department store or anything and was just a cute dress from a blog or something. I was sad/mad and just really wanted the dress.

I've done that many times when I just google something to see if I can find something, then find something I really love. Then I can't find it anywhere!! Ugh! >=[

A do that a lot with really pretty cars, too. =s But I love my car, anyways. <3

Sailor Moon (shut up). The Japanese DVD boxsets didn't get printed for very long because the rights ran out and the Japanese publisher wouldn't let them renew I guess, and I was a broke student at the time so I couldn't afford to buy them new. So finding the sets is a royal PITA. It doesn't help that there are LOADS of bootlegs around, so finding a legit set of DVDs is a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack, and for all you know the needle isn't there :/

Nuh uh; I luffs SailorMoon. XP

Are you serious? They don't sell it anymore? I remember when they first came out with the boxed sets on DVD. That was quite a few years ago, though... I still have some of the regular DVD's, though, as well as old VHS's.

Nope. The American rights ran out not that long after they starter printing the Japanese boxsets. So they only got 2-3 years of print time in region 1.

Well that stinks. =/ No wonder I could never find the DVDs at Anime Club (which is now closed... >_>), or any of the books/mangas.

Now that's strange. =/ What was the picture you were searching for, and how were you searching for it on Google. Sometimes if you put the "+" and "-" signs next to the words you do or do not want included, it helps. =0

Ben Tigre 06-11-2009 05:02 PM

That always happens to me with CD's.
I only need one album to complete my collection from one band,
but stores don't carry it and I can't order online.
Its miserable XD

x1887 06-12-2009 02:11 AM

Anne_Marie 06-14-2009 05:48 AM

I've been wanting to get Mewtwo and Lucario plushies forever. But i never have money and whenever i do, it's only a little and they're either not for sale or 2-3 dollars more than i have. I hate that. So much.
