Hmm... we have dogs next door right now that, though they get fed and cared for and stuff, nobody's ever home to play with them, so they bark all day/night >.<
It's really annoying and the owner never seems to have anything outside for them to play with. Glad I've never seen really bad abuse in real life... some of those stories sound horrible... :( |
some people can be so heartless, and it breaks my heart to see them treating animals like that. pets are suppose to be our friends. would you subject a friend to such horrible things? No. People like that need to realize this as well as the fact that animals Do have feelings, and many suffer from trauma because of this kind of behavior from the owner. Owners like this are proving they are not capable nor responsible to care for any animal and should be banned from doing so in fear that they will just make a repeat of what they had done before.
rant aside, those poor dogs. i hope they get a good home and a loving owner(s). they deserve it after what they went through. |
Once I found these kittens in a box near some guys rubbish out the front of his house, I was going door to door selling cookies because I was a 'Girl Guide' and I heard something, Me being an animal lover and all I thought it was a mouse or something so I went to see what it was, I used to love just stalking mice. But, Onto the kittens. When I went to see what it was I saw the box, It was a shoe box, And it had some old rags in it, But. It took me a while to notice that there was something in the rags and. I move them around a bit and there were these three little kittens, I don't think they were that old either considoring they were TINY and they still had that little chord thing hanging off their belly. I actually thought they were baby rats at first, Then I was all 'I didn't know there were tabby rats...'
I took them home and all and my parents were the first people who knew what they were, they called up the SPCA and all, They fostered the kittens out to another mama cat who had only had one kitten, she accepted them and all three of the little babies lived and all. The guy that had just thrown them away was never caught or anything, I had no evidence or anything, and he apparently 'Had never had a cat.' Even though I'd always seen one around at his house, And I'd seem him feeding it and all, But. It had dissapeared a few days earlier and There were no Vet records to say he had ever had a cat, so. He was never charged... I still don't know how his cat randomly dissapeared, but. I'm just happy I found the kittens before they died or anything ^^ |
over here they're trying to find these ppl that were shooting ducks as their little "hunting" game, it was all over on youtube when they saw it :U

My roommate found a little kitten outback of our apartment, so he brought it home and gave it to me to take care of. She was tiny and starving, and her fur was all matted. We asked around and talked to the animal shelter. No one ever claimed her, so I kept her. She's now a crazy grownup cat that is currently sitting on my shoulder watching me type. That's probably as close to animal abuse as I've ever been, if that even counts.
When I lived at home, my parents got a dog from the animal shelter that had been abused by men. So used to get so nervous when the guys in the family would go near her and would pee. Eventually she got used to us though, because we worked with her. She's an outside dog, but she had lots of water and food, a huge yard to run in, and an actual little BUILDING to sleep in with a heat lamp, more water and food, and lots of pillows and blankets. Plus she gets to come in when it gets too hot or rainy. In my town, we had some people that would duct tape live cats to stop signs. :/ I can't remember if they were ever caught though. Purposeful and cruel animal abuse always worries me, because it's well known that a number of serial killers were animal torturers first. >.< |
I seriously almost started crying after reading some of those posts.
The closest thing that experienced even near animal cruelty is this one guy who kept on trying to kill this one frog. He was trying to impale this frog with a stick and I kept taking it away from him and I got a little personal. After a while he gave up. |
:shock: Just reading some of those posts kinda makes me feel as if I should do something about those *beep* Yeah, at my place we had a mother cat come up to our house and we fed her. We all know were not supposed to feed strays but we did and now we have three kittens. Sadly, the mother went across the street to get nother source of food and when she crossed back over to our yard she was sadly killed. The bastard driver just kept on going like nothing had happened. Now, we have three kittens without a mother, that were still nursing but have learned to eat regular cat food, and are all outside cats. It's not that I wanna keep them outside, it's just that one of my roommates is allergic and has a dog that basically runs the house. Cuttest little dog though, full blooded Pommeranian that is awesome and will play with you at the drop of a hat. Kinda getting annoying though cause she barks if you move to fast or appear out of nowhere.:angel:

I am a volunteer for the Cat Adoption Team Services here in my hometown, and I foster some of the cats that have been picked up, or 'trapped' from abandoned homes. These cats and kittens are really very lovable and just want a good home and a good life. Anyway, there was a story that our manager Rita told us. There are these two kittens. They shouldn't have been born, and I'm not saying this to be mean. What I mean is that the mother who gave birth to them was technically too old to have kittens, so the female kitten is deformed. Both of her front legs are bent at the elbow. If she stands on her hind legs, she looks kinda like a kangaroo. That, and she is also double pawed, and her front legs are boneless, so she can't walk on them very well. Her brother, has a deformed/broken back leg, that has to be amputated. Even he is double pawed. But the owner had more kittens. Two of which were already dead when Rita and the others got there. It's horrible and rediculous for these things to happen. I hate it when I see animal cruelty and sick/hurt animals. Luckily though, the kittens are in our protection now, so they will be cared for until they can both go to a good home. One where both of them will be happy, not only together, but hopefully with a family who will care for them despite their deformities. After all, those two kittens are the sweetest animals I have ever met. If I had the money and time to take care of them and all the vet bills they may need later, I would totally adopt them myself, yet unfortunately that would be impossible for me to do.
(EDIT: ) About the male kitten, his back leg is broken. Deformed and broken. He drags it around everywhere. The owner said that he was born that way, but when the vet took X-Rays of his back leg, it showed that it was broken. Someone had stepped on it's back leg, leaving the poor kitten to drag it's back leg around when it walks... |
Actually, just last week, my aunt and I found a kitten on the side of the road. There was a box about 10 meters away from it, and the poor baby was skin and bones. It was the sweetest kitten too! I don't understand how someone could do that to a sweet little kitty!
Unfortunately, we couldn't adopt it, but we took it to the humane society right away so that they could nurse it back to health and find it a good home. |
i don't think i've actually ever seen animal cruelty go on in my neighborhood, but i've definitly seen it on television. i think it's horrible how people can do that to animals, but i guess they enjoy it since they've got sick minds. everybody different, i guess. somebody don't care, and some do.

I know how you feel, my mom found a starving kitten in our backyard. She now lives in my room. Fucking nehibors. This is their third cat, and they have a second dog. Their first one died from starvation. :\ She has to "put the cat out so the kids wont torture it" but that also means not feeding it, right? :\ Grr, I hate people like that. D: We're considering dying her with food coloring so they cant get her back.:sarcasm: |
My uncle used to own three dogs and they were all killed when he left them in the car while it was blazing hot outside. He also got a dog and never bothered to brush it, which was evident by the dreadlocks on its legs. When I asked him why, he said he wasn't able to do it but I'm not entirely sure if he was telling the truth or not. He also owned a small farm at one point - it wouldn't surprise me if all the animals died due to neglect or something.

Thats so sad :( I heard that somewhere near where I lived there were these teenage boys that actually set a dog on fire, by covering it with gasoline. When I heard I was so upset. I know many people with dogs, and I have a dog myself. I saw pictures of the dog and he had pactches of dark and light skin with no fur. I'm not exactly sure what happened to the boys but I think they were put in jail.
