I'm honestly confused by what Americans call "finals", because they seem to do them several times throughout the year, so what's all that about!

Finals usually happen twice a year -- at the end of each semester. Both in high school and college/university.
Though in high school, you usually take year-long subjects, with the exception of electives. Still, they make you take a final at the end of each semester.
In college, you have semester-long classes anyway, so there are obviously finals at the end of each semester.
What confuses me are these crazy A-Levels. XP I know what they are thanks to watching Skins and the Inbetweeners, but it's just a different concept than testing here. XP

The British and US education system is entirely different though. We leave school at 15/16 depending on when your birthday is, but we start at four, which I think is younger than the US does? You have to choose to stay on into the 6th form and do A levels.
Both those terms are hold overs too. Originally you studied towards your O levels (ordinary) during your five years at secondary school, and those five years were catagorised as first through to fifth year and the classes were (and maybe still are) called forms, so if you stayed on to do A levels (advanced) you went into the sixth form. The 17 and 18 year olds being lower and upper 6th, respectively.
O levels went years ago, my year was the last to ever do them actually, in 1987. There's further complications with classification actually xD Because O levels were also called GCEs( general certificate of education) but running along side those were CSEs (certificate of secondary education) How those were split was by the premise that O levels were generally harder than CSEs, so the brighter kids had to do those. Kids who went to grammar schools rather than ordinary comprehensive secondary schools always had to do O levels.
For my exams I got O level AND CSE grades for some of them, which seemed a bit pointless to be honest xD But they were amalgamated for the years following me into GCSEs, and O levels ceased to exist. But A levels have stuck around, not that I got a chance to take any thanks to my horrible mother >_>

I actually finished my Finals a few days ago, Monday to be exact.
It was really not as bad as I thought it would be.
For the most part, I knew what I was talking about, and I felt prepared.
Just study, until you feel as comfortable as you can with it, cram, and try to get some sleep.
As for breakfast, it depends on what you're used to.
I NEVER eat breakfast, and that does not change on test/exam days.
I just feel like I can be sharper/more focused, if I don't eat, and my stomach isn't growling. I don't know, I just feel more alert.
However, if you're used to eating, eat something like oatmeal with banana, and milk.
But, looking at the time that you posted I have to ask...
How do you feel like you did?

Yeah, you know, I thought I knew what A-levels were, but after Jelly's explanation, I think I'm more confused.

Uuugghh the end of the school year is terrible, but so amazing at the same time..
Well, I take night courses, so my schooling is done at our own pace since everyone who goes there are adults and can't always come in to classes because of work and other things like that..
But yeah, I have like half of my enture math course to finish within the next two weeks.
I know I can do it, because I seem to be getting through it pretty quickly, but still.. It'd be nice if I got it all finished by now.

Ugh. Last week, and now this week are my Collage finals. I am officaly going insane. Not only are there the final tests but also final essays/projects. I hate how those are often assigned ether at the same time, or one right after the other...its crazy.
However, at my community collage we do not go by the semester system, we go by the quarter system ( 4 quarters per year ) Anyone else here have this?
Its so weird how collages have so many different class schedule types...lol XD;;
I wish we went by the semester system at my collage...seriously, quarter classes jam-pack whats meant to be taught over a year/half a year period ( well, at least for core classes anyway ) down into a few months, and it just...ugh....talk about cramming...not to mention we get to take mid-terms and finals 4 times a year! >___<
Gah...anyway...good luck on your finals everyone! ^.^
And wish me luck as well! I'll need it *dies*
