FML - Fail My Life
Ever have a moment so embarrassing that you really feel like the words "Game Over" will appear over your humiliated self at any moment? Did it happen long enough ago that you can laugh about it now?
--- When I was in the eighth grade the two classes decided to have a post-grad fun week. We got separated into found groups names after colours and each group had to choose a theme song. A lot of people pared up, but I was way too shy to ask anyone so I decided to write a song myself. After a week of working hard and getting my hopes up I went to present the song. My teacher praised me for being brave and trying this on my own. Then I sang the song...and it was so terrible that no one ever talked about it. Ever. I think I may have scarred many of my classmates for life. The sad thing is I can sing. I've studied vocal arts for years, and I can write too (or in my mind I can, haha!). I've been doing that for years as well. I just can't write songs. I wish I'd known that when I'd attempted that little disaster. Haha, total fail! Its hilarious now, but at the time I was so humiliated I didn't speak to anyone for days. Ah, eighth grade: how did I survive you? So, anyone else have a silly story? |
I don't have a silly story, but I know what you mean. =3
GAME OVER. |
Although I think if we really did get a Game Over, then we'd be able to restart from the last Save Point. Haha.
Or is that reincarnation? o.O |
Haha, I'm not sure. Maybe we would need to start over from the very beginning. :insane:
|
Haha, that'd be rough! I'd just as soon die then start my life over. Being a kid was the worst. And then puberty all over again?! No thanks! Besides then I'd have to wait over twenty-two years for the next volume of Loveless to come out! Hahaha!
|
I would love to live puberty again with things I know now... Man... That would be just so fun :D
|
@whiteowl ~ I don't know if i'd really enjoy goin' through puberty again... ... but I know what you mean. Mind you, i'm no paragon of confidence and learning. But I do think I would have moved through high school easier if I had the wisdom then that I do now. I wouldn't have been so awkward. :B
|
NO. Going throught puberty again. That would be awesome. Well, you know. Things would grow bigger. ;)
|
Like last year I was drawing while listening to Philosophy class [if I don't draw I'll tap the table, I can't keep my fingers still, ya know?!] and my teacher didn't know that bracketed part so he took my notebook against my will, looked at the silly drawing I was making and said "how horrible" out loud and confiscated it. It crushed my heart, specially because two pages before I had a pro-skill drawing, with shading and everything ;__;
Needless to say, I cried for the rest of the class and held a grudge against that teacher, even after having my notebook back. It was worse than a GAME OVER, it was like a black-out right before saving your win. |
>>........
hmmmmm I have no bad stories to tell either... <<.... |
I would never want to go back to middle school. I had a terrible time there. when I got into high school though things got easier for me. I am so glad to be graduated. ^_^
|
@Kah Hilzin-Ec
Wow, tactless much? What a terrible teacher! Though I know what you mean about not being able to keep the fingers still, I was the same. I always had to doodle. Can't say I had any skill though! Haha |
Yee-ha! I got a lovely one for you.
I'm a very dumb person, I wore white pants to school one day and I forgot i was still on my period and so, I spent the day wearing white until lunch..... a girl KINDLY pointed out my ass was red... I was like "FUCK! WHY?! YOU SHOULD BE OVER!" I laughed it off and said I sat in ketchup... when I got back from school that day i ran inside ran to my room grabbed some clothes and took a shower.. My foster mom was like "Wtf?!" I explained when i got out and she kinda laughed at me... |
It middle school I had this awful pair of underwear from Limited Too with monkeys on them. I was eating lunch in the cafeteria and apparently my shirt had got caught on the top of my pants. The jeans were the hip style ones and I guess my underwear was pulled up higher than that, so basically everyone could see my monkey underwear. I never wore them again. The sad part is that I was wearing like, an extra large shirt, that easily covered my entire butt when I was standing. How it managed to stay flipped up is beyond me.
But yea, Fail My Life. |
I have had way too many moments such as that. But instead of Game Over I always hear myself thinking "Epic Fail"
|
Lol. Have you guys ever been to that website? "FMyLife.com"
It's full of these stories and soo funny! I think I spent 30 minutes just reading it today. x.x Definitely check it out though, 'cause it definitely makes me feel better about my awkward/embarrassing moments. =) |
Yeah, I just finished up with eighth grade. I personally had the best time of my life, granted there were a few bad moments most of them were great ^-^
|
I didn't fail alone, but in 7th grade my whole class made a nice group effort fail that your story reminded me of. Each class chose a song to sing at our rock and roll concert that our parents were attending and my class decided unanimously to do Walk this Way, the version by Run DMC and Aerosmith. We thought it was going to be awesome and didn't realize how horrible it sounded while we practiced it in class for a month. Most of it went okay, but when we hit the chorus we sounded like a group of dying squawking parrots. I found out afterwords when my mom showed me the tape she had recorded of it. She still has it and plays it for family from time to time...
|
@Cemetery - I think every girl has a story like that. Once I was working for a call center and I got my period. I didn't notice and when I sat up there was a blood stain on the seat. I never told anyone, and no one figured out it was me but...urgh...
@Sho-Shonojo - Ah, the magic of uncooperative clothes. @Nissa - At least you weren't alone? In a group everyone can laugh about it, because no one has to take singular responsibility, IMO. @JeSsIcAtMeOwW - Actually I haven't, but my work place is selling a book called F My Life, and that is where I got the idea for this thread. |
I have had so many moments like that, I can't even think of a specific one to share with you. Sometimes I make a joke, but I'm the only one who completely appreciates it- and I won't even get sympathy laughs. Which makes me feel horrid because usually I make a lot of people laugh. I'm kinda natural at it.
Like Anaromantic, I see in my head in BIG RED BUBBLE LETTERS, "EPIC FAIL!" IT kinda makes me laugh sometimes though. xP There's a website devoted to those kinds of moments, I've been told. Called Fmylife.com I never actually looked it up though. owo; |
The fmylife website used to be great, but it's gone so far downhill! The only people who post now are pretty much jerks to begin with. They either deserved what they got or nothing bad actually happened.
Thankfully I haven't had any of these moments lately. But if I did, I probably block it out of my memory. :XD |
Mm. I guess one of my Epic Fails/Game Over episodes would have to be the day of the very first live meal we had to do in one of my culinary classes. I was all dressed up, having had to change at work (pizza hut at the time). Picture if you would, black slacks, white shirt, black cumberbund and a black bow tie. I was so nervous, I strode to the doors and slammed right into them because they were still locked. >_>; Then I had to fight with the lock to get the door to open.
|
@JessiFlakes - Or when you tell a joke to one person and they laugh, then tell the same joke to another person and they look at you like you have sixteen heads. I do that all the time. Wa-wa-waaah :sarcasm:
@Lacquer - The door did it on purpose. It is the door's fault. |
Yes, one time my dad was tickling me, and he wouldn't let me go, and I had to piss so bad, and so I pissed on him. XD
|
@[C]olor[G]uard - I bet he never did that again. Lol, honestly.
