Alright guys, Ping Pong!

I'm watching Forrest Gump at the moment and it's at a part were Forrest is just playing Ping Pong all the time, and it got me thinking. I have a ping pong table at my house and have played casually with friends and the family every once in awhile. It's not really a sport, but people do go "pro" or join leagues in it! =o

So, Mene, I was wondering if anyone here plays ping pong casually/in leagues/or is considering making it big time! People on forums surprise me all the time with things they like to do or what's going on in their lives, so I figured I'd ask about ping pong. =)

(If you do anything else that's different, not necessarily just ping pong, please feel free to share!)

lol I go crazy when I play ping pong.. xP or anything where I get to hit a ball with some sort of bat (except for baseball.). ^^ I like it really much but my opposers don't like it that much.. 8D
they say I hit the ball too hard and they're afraid of 'catching' it.:sweat:

I agree, I just love playing for the fun of it.. not really any good but just like playing here and there

Ping pong soo is a sport. D: I'm not very good at it, mainly because I don't really care and I hit the ball as hard as I can. xD But some of my friends in China are really good at it. /nods

I love the movie Forrest Gump! Even though Im really bad at ping pong but I love playing it anyway.At my school we are allowed to play it during PE and its a lot of fun since none of us are really great at it. XD

We have PE and OE (outdoor ed) at my school. OE you get to go on camping trips and stuff (which are a lot of fun) and PE is just well...PE. XD

Oh, I used to really love ping pong. But then I started playing badminton and after that I kind of fail at ping pong because I keep thinking the paddle is just 1 inch longer than it really is. Which of course results in me missing the ball about 50% of the time. My serve is pretty good, but other than that my playing is suckish. I do know one person I met who went to junior Olympics for ping pong though!

My ping pong serve is good and I do try my hardest when I play.. but alas.. I am not that great at it.
We played ping pong for a semester in our gym class in highschool and I got one of the lowest scores. Of course, I always got the lowest scores in any other sport because I just completley suck, am always out of breath and am horrible at aiming.

so.. no I don't think that I will every be in a ping pong tournament or go pro.

I still love to play with my friends though. Beer pong rules! But the funnest of all is playing ping pong after toking up (:

I've played ping-pong before.

I'm not any good, but I have played. It's still fun, even if I can't hit the ball.

You're so lucky you get to play ping pong in your gym class! I would kill to be able to do that, though I am kind of suckish compared to other people. It's still loads of fun!

The last time i played ping pong i was about 9. We certainly never had any classes at school, just as well i think, seeing as I failed miserably at it. I tend to find my abilities lend themselves more to badminton, and sports where the target object is air borne for a longer amount of time.
Although i do have the urge to see if i've improved over the years now.

@IRayna: I used to go to a school that let you play DanceDance Revolution in PE...I'm way better at it than I am at ping-pong.

@ Jess: they were thinking about doing that at my middle school but they werent able to afford it...They tought us how to hackysack instead which was dumb since I suck at it XD either I got hit with it or I fell over because my balance sucks XD
