The Beach!!
I was living in Montreal, Canada, for ten years and have just recently moved to a province in the Maritimes, which means Atlantic Ocean, which means THE BEACH!!
I find it awesome and ever since summer hit, all I have been doing is pretty much just going to the beach, getting drunk and BBQ'ing. Tomorrow, my boyfriend and I are going to go to the beach and camp out over night, in the sand dunes. It's supposed to be a beautiful day, 30 degrees Celsius, absolutely no clouds until the evening! They are announcing some showers after 3AM but we'll be in our tent by then, so I have no problem with that. The water was ice cold to the bone today, I hope it will be warmer tomorrow. What do you think of the beach? Have you ever been to the Ocean? Have any funny stories you'd like to share about your experiences at the beach? |

I love the beach! I love sitting on the beach and watching the sunset.
I can't stand not seeing the ocean for long periods of time, I prefer the pacific to the atlantic ocean, and I love the ocean in Hawaii, the color of the water is amazing. |
Oh man, the Pacific ocean must be so beautiful!!
But the Atlantic coast does have some nice beaches as well. Like in the Carribean You guys are lucky (: I am definitely going to the Pacific someday!! |
I like going to the beach when the sun isn't too hot, I hate getting sunburned or my skin tanned, and the sun kills my eyes. Dx
But when it's cloudy, I like to walk along the edges of the water, looking around for interesting things that might be floating along. I remember seeing a syringe, a dead jellyfish, lots of dead fish, random lost beach accessories and other stuff on my trips to the beach. Depending on the kind of beach, I also like to go looking for fish (live ones, that is), hermit crabs, starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, etc, in the waters...but I don't like going too deep into the water because it's scary. I seem to have a phobia of large things like really tall buildings and endless stretches of water xD;; Or maybe I just don't like the way the waters look like they're going to swallow me up... Quote:

Haha, that's pretty funny.
where are the World Games 2009? o_O I really like tanning, I hate that I get sun burns so easily, but It only pinches for like 24 hours :/ |
Beach.
I'm lucky I live in Florida and have always lived here so I have always been close the the beach. I can't imagine living somewhere not close to it, don't think I'd ever want to. The beach is only an hour drive from where I live. I am planning on going to the beach this weekend with my boyfriend. I just hope the weather is nice. This summer has been full of rain. We always get a lot of rain in the summer, but it seems like there's been more of it this year.

I love the beach, But. It's winter in New Zealand right now so I miss it so much, I can't wait until it gets warmer so I can go and play in the sand, and swim around :3
My dad can't wait either, he's addicted to fishing. |
I love the beach~! If only my skin wasn't sensitive to salt.. But I like playing in the sand, it's surprisingly fun :)
I've seen the ocean a lot :D I used to go to Western Shores caravan park every Easter, when I lived in South Australia, and I've been all along West Beach.. I've also driven the length of the Great Ocean Road and seen all the sights, like the 12 Apostles and London Bridge.. theres some pretty awesome sights there :D Once when I was at Victoria Bay (I think that's what it's called anywho :S), I was walking along the beach when I saw a seagull. Oh yes. Fear the gull. Anyway, it looked kinda.. dead. Its eyes were closed and it didn't move when the waves hit its' legs. I thought it really was dead, but I still walked up to it real slow and quiet. When I was right next to it, I squatted down so that I was basically the smae size as it; it hadn't moved the whole time! It was amazing: I could have reached out and touched it if I wanted to. Instead, I called out to my mum so she could come see. Suddenly, it's eyes popped open and it saw me looming over it, then it screamed at me and flapped its' wings and splashed water all over the place; its' wings smacked my face about ten times each xD; Yes, my amazing story of the undead seagull. xD |
I love the beach especially because i live in Puerto Rico and theres a beach everywhere XD
Unfortunately this summer we dint go to the beach >.> its been nearly 2 years since ive been to the beach.. witch is weird because i live in P.R. |

@Zernita: It was in Taiwan ^^ It's kind of like the Olympic games except it's not as well-known (because I certainly never heard of it until my dad told me about it coming a year before it came), and the sports they're competing in are more...not-as-popular as the ones in the Olympics. Such as weight-lifting, karate, life-saving in the water, tug-of-war, etc.
When I get sunburned my skin hurts for days, then it becomes flakey and peel off like scars. Not very pleasant. I don't get sunburned easily, but I don't like exposing myself to the sunlight either...it stings. So I prefer to keep my skin as pale as possible...I'm naturally tanned anyway, being an Asian. :P @Opal: LMAO! Wow, wish I could have seen that xDDDD I would've probably tried to catch it...I used to run after the pidgeons in the parks in the US trying to catch them before they flew away...closest attempt was one when I touched it on its wing, but it still got away >_>; It must've been a pretty large seagull to be almost the same size as you o_o; *has a mental image of a little girl squatted down at a beach and a seagull going -smacksmacksmack- with its wings onto the little girl's face in its shock and desperation to get away XD* |
Living right over the bridge from Long Beach Island, NJ, the beach is my life. I grew up here, I've never met anyone that hasn't seen the ocean, and I'd go crazy without it.

i love the beach, but i hate the sea :x
i live in Belgium, not that far from the coastline i think it's about an hour drive. i don't mind going to the beach because there are lot's of other activities besides swimming in the sea you can do (like building sandcastles! :D) but i'll never go swimming in the sea. our sea water is icky! it doesn't have a normal blue-green color, it's more brown-green and the coastline is covered in junk. weirdest thing that ever happened to me on the beach was a guy who jumped into the sea... while it was tide xD major belly flop/sandhead >>; |
I love the water and the sand, but sun is not my friend ^^;
if I don't burn, I'll atleast dry my skin so that it flakes a lot afterwards.. <.< I've felt incredibly condifent and sexy hitting the beach this year, so it's been fun xP |
The beach,
the beach to me is a get away from all of the hard times no matter who's there or what's there everyone is peaceful and everyone is happy (unless of course you get stung by a jellyfish or bitten by a shark). The beach is my get away from school work, i like to go there and role out my towel in the sun and dig my feet in the sand. I love tanning its not good for you but its relaxing and i don't do it too often. When i get the nerve to go into the water i usually attempt boogi boarding but i usually end up failing and just have fun and jump over the waves that come. I have gotten stung by a jellyfish but it had not ruined my love for the beach. Thats all for now |
