I feel like I made a topic like this... But I think it was on Roli...
ANYWHO.
So since I got my wisdom teeth out, I've been prescribed vicodin. At first I didn't want to take it because I get paranoid about possibilities of getting addicted to narcotics, but now that I've been taking it, I'm feeling a lot better. :]
It's been at least four days since the operation (makes it sound serious. xD) and my mouth hasn't been hurting as much, so my mom has opted to try and get me to cut back on the vicodin. At first I was a bit miffed because I do not like pain and the vicodin takes it away. I'm not sure why I titled this so dramatically since it's not like I got into some sorta fight with her about it.... Got you here, though, didn't it? ;)
Discuss:

-When you will be getting yours out
-Braces
-Dentists

-Vicodin
-Ibuprofen

I had braces twice and headgear when I was little. My bottom teeth are still a little off but that's because I lost my retainers and gave up trying to make them fit when I found them. I think I still have my wisdom teeth, because when I was little, they pulled out different teeth to make room for them when I got older.
I also have this thing called lock-jaw. It's really painful and now that I'm over 18. I can look into jaw surgery, but I don't wanna. Too scared. O_O

I think I am one of those lucky one's because I don't need to get my wisdom teeth or tonsils taken out. Yay for me!! But I did have braces for two years and those were so annoying. Once I chewed gum for like a whole day and the wire from the braces shifted all to one side and poked the right side of my mouth repeatidly, sending so much pain throughout my mouth. Just thinking about the wire sticking to the side of my mouth ...ahh D=

So far, I haven't had to get my wisdom teeth pulled, but... I've still got another year for them to decide that.
My friend is currently going to go through the same thing... in four days! XD
Vicodin is dangerous. My mom has been taking it for her own mouth surgeries lately. She doesn't like it. It makes her sick.
But it does sound like you've gotten addicted to it. :(

I might be getting braces.
D:
My bottom teeth are all crooked.
My top teeth are actually pretty straight though. So would they have to put them on only the bottom? Or would they have to put them on the top too, for some silly reason? Like maybe straightening them evenly... I don't know.

They may have to. I have them on both bottom and top. Do you have an over bite?

I had braces too, I got them up AND down, so you can quess how awful it looked. :D But now I'm glad that I have straight teeth!
You can ask from your dentist that where are they going to put them. They don't always put them to the visible side, no, sometimes they put them behind! And that doesn't look bad at all! And I don't believe you'll even get braces on the top teeth since they're straight, so you shouldn't be worried.

I got my wisdom teeth out 2 years ago. It was my first time getting surgery of any sort so I was a bit nervous but the surgery went fine and it was a little quicker for them to do because I only had 3 wisdom teeth instead of 4.
I remember when I woke up that I was a bit weepy. I wasn't in pain or sad or anything like that, but I was told it was normal for girls to be emotional after getting they're wisdom teeth out. Guys on the other hand act goofy, which happened to my brother. Anyways, that's the only part I remember. I don't remember leaving the dentists, the ride home (though apparently I wouldn't stop asking my mom when I could take the gauze out), or arriving home and taking my pain killers. I just remember waking up on the couch. I felt fine...until I sat up.
For the rest of the day, anytime I sat up, I threw up. That had to have happen 7 times that day. I couldn't take any pain killers because I couldn't keep anything down. My gums were bleeding the entire day because I kept throwing up. It was miserable!
Things were better the next day and I was able to take my pain killers which really helped with the pain a lot and helped me sleep. But then I had a night of nothing but nightmares. Every time I fell asleep, I had another nightmare. My mom reasoned my body wasn't use to being on drugs and that's why I was having the nightmares, so I stopped taking the pain killers all together and just dealt with the pain.
All in all, not a fun experience! D:

I don't have mine out. I've never actually been to the dentist. Not sure why, I think my mom has told me but I faded in an out of her explanation.

You lucky butt-head. xD Though I've never had to worry about chewing gum with my braces. I eat everything I'm not supposed to. I used to eat Starburst all the time, but finally last summer a Starburst ripped one of the bands off my back teeth. D; It was uncomfy.

My friend got her wisdom teeth out the other day. I saw her yesterday and she had bruises on her jaw. I made jokes, because I'm ridiculous. I kept walking up to people and telling them that my friend got in a fight, but they should see the other guy! XD Another one was that she got her wisdom teeth out... BUT OUT OF HER HAND. Because there was a band-aid on her hand. But maybe that was there from the fight she got into! I'm silly. ;-; I'm pretty sure I don't have to get my wisdom teeth out. I had braces twice when I was younger so that would be prevented. C:

I haven't had my wisdom teeth removed, and I'm quite scared to.
Did it hurt during the process?

Well I've never gotten my wisdom teeth pulled but I do have braces and I hate it more than ever. >:[
I never took any really strong med.s like you did. :B
Oh and, Ibuprofen, I'm deathly allergic to it. (its kindda rare to have that) My dentist thought I was lying and wouldn't give me anything besides Tynol when I got my braces put in. ; n;

Got my wisdom teeth out about two years ago, and it was the abosolute worst experience of my life... that I can remember. I've had some pretty bad ones. >.> Dentists scare me, orthadontists scare me. I hate all mouth-medical practices and cringe at the very thought/sound of a dentist tool.
I had braces for five years, and that sucked. -___-

Mine haven't even started coming in. I have this idea in my head that maybe they just never would. That'd be fun.
But they'll probably come in for next year. Not excited about that.
