Boys...Love'em or dislike'em?

My friend has gone through SO much trouble and drama because of her now EX boyfriend. :sweat: I personally, don't like guys too much at all. Only as friends. So here are some nice question for you all to answer~ ;D

-Do you have a boyfriend?
-Do you strongly dislike any guys you used to like? If so, then why?
-Do you have a friend who's a boy who's being a complete idiot? If so, how?

Little Miss 08-05-2009 04:14 AM

- I do not have a boyfriend
- I still like the guy I used to like
- My guy friend isn't well...being idiotic...just stupid

Haha, i only really like guys as friends, besides, i'm too weird for any guy...but there have been a few who ask me out O_o

Cross Echo 08-05-2009 04:15 AM

Haha. boys will be boys.

1. Nope, I'm single.
2. Yes. Like I said, boys will be boys. For me, I start liking someone and at the last minute they change into something I can't recognize anymore.
3. Yes. I know someone who likes a girl who, in my opinion, treats him very badly. Being on of his best friends, I asked him why he liked her and he couldn't name a specific reason, just that "when he was with her it felt like he was doing something right." In it's own way that could be considered a good reason, but after saying that he tells me that she's done bad things to him, she's treated him badly, she's done this and that... and it makes me wonder why he sticks around.

Akasha 08-05-2009 04:15 AM

No I do not not have a boyfriend. Haha.
I used to have a friend who turned into a complete...male organ.
And I dont have many guy friends actually...So I guess that makes me the idiot of my group. XD (Not in the bad way)

Im sorry to hear that guys are so mean to you though. D:
Guys are conceted sometimes. Beileve me. Haha. :]

Kaotic 08-05-2009 04:17 AM

I have a boyfriend, and he HELPS me with my drama, he doesn't make anymore of it. I can't say I strongly dislike them, but as people grow and change we drifted apart, so there are some I just don't like hangin out with anymore. And, nope, my guys friends are just the same old, same old. :D

terrytini 08-05-2009 04:17 AM

ah, hey there Cross Echo~
Psh yeah, he's a complete idiot by the way you describe him. Psh, and GUYS think they're *smarter* than us when they do that? xD Puh-lease~

Kaotic, you seem very lucky then. My best friend's ex didn't have any friends really. So I was the first person to really become his friend... Suicidal guys aren't fun to deal with. =___="

Cross Echo 08-05-2009 04:22 AM

Haha all guys are cocky. Even me, sometimes.
It's how we are.
But my friend... arghh we got in this huge argument about it.

Oh wow, not the suicidal one... Wait, she broke up with him already? I thought she was scared to.

terrytini 08-05-2009 04:26 AM

well SHE didn't break up with him. It was the other way around. >_> I was so shocked because he was always talking crap about how she made his life sooo much better and crap. =_= and then he breaks up with her... Oh well, made the job SUPER easier for her. I don't think she would've been able to handle another week together with him...
Psh, yeah~ But you're a nice guy Echo~ xD even if you are gay~ You know I <3 you. ;D

Kaotic 08-05-2009 04:28 AM

Ah, a suicidal guy. Now those I know how to deal with. My best guy friend was going through some tough times (Also due to guys/girls/memories) and was suicidal for a while. I talked him out of it three times, and never told anyone buy my boyfriend. Now he's all better and we've become a lot closer as friends because of it. Though at the time it stressed me out, the fact that I was able to convince him not to made me feel pretty good about myself, it showed me that I was a good enough friend to really make a difference. It showed me how much a difference just one person caring made in someones life. :)
However, your situation sounds like it was a lot different from that. So, yeah, that pretty much sucks. :/

Cross Echo 08-05-2009 04:32 AM

@terry
Oh wow. He actually broke up with her. Yeah, you mentioned how he was really into her.
Ahaha i love you too xD

terrytini 08-05-2009 04:32 AM

@Kaotic: He'd go into suicidal "mode" at least every week a while back and then it became more and more frequent and worse. He never ACTUALLY hurt himself, so after this dramatic "climax" I stopped trying really hard. I figured he was trying to do it to be an attention grub. The only reason I really believed him the first few times was he actually did almost commit suicide once and I didn't want to risk it. But he's different now. *i hope* and since he broke up with my best friend I hope that I won't have to talk to him too much anymore. e__o My god, he was being suicidal and saying sooo many "cheesy" lines and crap.

@ Echo: Yes he did~ xD and he was. But I don't want him going near my friend again. = 3=;; I'm very protective of my bestie and I don't want her to sit on her bed, shaking and crying ever AGAIN.

Cross Echo 08-05-2009 04:38 AM

@Terry
you know, (this isn't being said to offend anyone and I'm sorry if I do so) I can't help but wonder if people who go into suicidal "mode" do it because they're actually depressed or they want something from their partner. Because when you play on Death and Emotion it can be very influential and convincing. =/ Even if they did actually want to commit suicide the first time, I can't help but wonder if they used the other times as excuses to stay with their partner after realizing what type of reaction their first "suicide attempt" evoked.

What?! She was shaking and crying? D:
Wow, I understand where you're coming from with that.
It kills me to see my bestie crying on her bed. ):

Faygocytosis 08-05-2009 04:41 AM

Gotta love 'em. ;)

I've been with my boyfriend for a year and 7 months now. I luffs him! :kiss: Even though he is a pain in the butt at times, and he admits it. I have to smack him around occasionally, especially when he says that I need a hormone suppressant. Oh please, I know what he's thinking about. :mrgreen:

I only have one ex, and we're on quite friendly terms. There are dozens of guys that I may have "liked" [you know, just thought they were cute] and a few crushes.

I remember pining after the boys in preschool, but because I was so shy I never stepped up. This haunted me for the rest of my preteen years and into my teens. Thus, I got my first kiss just 3 years and 3 days ago [of course I remember the exact date. It was around 2 in the afternoon...]

Don't get me wrong, I love to spend time with my girlfriends. But I've never really had many guy friends. I think of guys too intimately to be 'just friends'.

terrytini 08-05-2009 04:42 AM

@Echo: Well HE was. At one point, I realized he was phishing for compliments and crap by "bashing" on himself. Like, it was MAJOR bashing, and no honest person would do it as much as he did if they weren't trying to phish for compliments. But yeah, you statement there put my thoughts that I couldn't put down into words, into words. He WAS basically feeding off that. = 3= and yeah... she was shaking and crying.... I was sleeping over at her house at the time, so I would know.

@ Fay: You first paragraph there made me giggle on the inside. xDD You seem to be like a bundle of sunshine to me. Hope things go out well with your boyfriend~ <3

Cross Echo 08-05-2009 04:47 AM

@Faygocytosis
Depending on the guys you meet, some can be really good friends.
Don't get me wrong, some don't possess good qualities fundamental in friendships, but my experience has taught me that guys tend to be way less dramatic that girls are, which is why I prefer hanging out with guys over girls. I'm not saying you have to change your preferences right away, but think of it as something to consider.

@Terry
Yeah, people who phish really annoy me. Honestly, it's only a sign of annoying low self-confidence. I dislike people bashing themselves in general, but there's a huge gap between people who are sincerely uncomfortable with themselves versus people who just point out their own flaws so that their ego is boosted.
It makes me dislike your best friend's ex because all that phishing and negativity got the best of her, and she was hurt way more than she should have been.

Kaotic 08-05-2009 04:49 AM

@Terry - Then that sucks major a-hole and I'm glad you and your bestie never have to deal with him again. I know I'm glad that my bestie and her ex-gf (She's bi) broke up, because her gf turned out to be a compulsive liar and whore, and hurt my bestie really badly. Now she's dating a really nice guy, and I'm super happy for her. :D

terrytini 08-05-2009 04:51 AM

@ Echo: They annoy me too~ Also people who can't type corretcly, or decently (decently being defined as not replacing "you" as "u") also annoy me.. (.___. ) Pretty much he was the definition of someone whom I really wouldn't like. My other bestie is sincerely uncomfortable with herself, but she doesn't bash herself too much. She's actually very modest and asks how she can improve herself.

@Kaotic: Yes it does. But yeah, I know that girls can be just as bad as guys sometimes. Like, the girl in the scenario that Echo is put up. I really don't know why some people are like that. =__=" But as long as your bestie is happy, she should go for it all the way~ <3

Cross Echo 08-05-2009 05:00 AM

@Terry
I seriously wish more people who were uncomfortable with themselves would be more modest about it and not flashy just to receive compliments. There was this girl at my middle school who always used to ask for food... she'd take a bite out of /one/ chip and then she'd say "OMG, I'm SOOOOO fat you guys!" And she was suuuper skinny so all of us would contradict her... And she kept phishing so eventually one of my friends cracked and said "Yes, you /are/ fat." and she shut up after that and never asked for food again. :D

Kaotic 08-05-2009 05:03 AM

Yeah, there just rotten at the core and should be sterialized so they can't reproduce anymore of rotten to the core people. But seriously, this chick moved to a different school then started dating a girl and a guy at the sametime, and they both KNEW ABOUT IT! How can those people exist without getting the crap beat out of them? [/rant]
But yeah, it was annoying, but now it's better. :) And from what you've said it's over for you too, so you can help your bestie get better now, and you can get better yourself. And trust me, it's so much more fun to spend the night at someones house when there not venting about stress from girls/boys all night. xD

terrytini 08-05-2009 05:03 AM

@ Echo: OMFG~ XDD Ahahahaha. The story just made my day~ <3 Ah, but what you just reminded me was that one of my friends was anorexic~ >_< Dude, she was anorexic is 6th Grade! She was sent to a hospital far away for rehab and she was the youngest they'd ever had in the program...

@Kaotic: They SHOULD be sterilized~ = 3=;; um....she dated both a guy and girl at the same time? o___o;; My god, how did wrath's fury not come down upon her? And yeah, thankfully it's over now~ I can sleep in peace without having to worry anymore~ x3

Faygocytosis 08-05-2009 05:09 AM

@ Terry - Thankies! I try to be a bundle of sunshine most of the time. A cute bundle, even though a little squirmy. :boogie:

@ Echo - I agree that girls have sooooo much more drama going on than guys do [or possibly less but they just whine about it more], but my friends are really down to earth. There is no drama with us. However comfortable I am around guys, it's always a little awkward. Especially when I'm with my boyfriend's friends. They look at me like "I know what you do behind closed doors". And they do because my boyfriend tells them every dirty detail. I really don't mind him doing that, cause guys like to boast.

But my real issue is how I can feel guys undressing me with their eyes. Hey, it makes me feel good about myself, but sometimes I wanna wave my hand in front of their faces and say "Yo, my face is up here!" cause they blatantly stare at my chest. That's irritating. And what creeps me out is to see older guys looking at me. Several years ago an older man [30s? ish?] stalked me in a hotel, and that has really not helped cement any friendships with guys. :no:

terrytini 08-05-2009 05:13 AM

@Fay: Haha, you're a nice and funny one you are, Fay~ xD And I agree with the less drama but complain about it more. I, myself, will even admit to that a little bit... >_> But my bestie gave me ever single detail as to what they did even before things started to go rotten. xD so I guess it's natural that guys do that with their friends too.

Cross Echo 08-05-2009 05:16 AM

@Terry
Oh my gosh, really?
That's so sad D:
I've never heard of someone getting anorexia so young...

@Faygocytosis
Yeah, guys have their own drama going on too, but they're usually more laid back about it then girls are.
Boyfriend's friends are a bit different. It's because they view you only as "my friend's girlfriend" not "another friend." ... and because your boyfriend tells then what goes on behind closed doors. xD
If you want, try bonding with them over things that they like (videogames & sports) and try to make yourself more friend-ish. Things will get less awkward pretty quickly when you start finding tons of things you have in common with them.

Oh, a lot of guys do that. It's a guy thing... they're just naturally... er... *ahem* You know. That "H-word." Not all guys are like that, though. I know and understand that you'd have bad experiences, but there are pretty nice guys out there.

Creepy older men... are creepy older men. Realize that they are in fact, old, and that they are probably the way they are because of something that happened in the past. If you befriend good guys your age, they're most likely not going to act like that around you or act like that in the future.

terrytini 08-05-2009 05:19 AM

@Echo: Yeah, it's pretty sad~ >_< She's almost out of it now. Only a few habits are left that aren't too bad. She's going to a private school next year so I won't really be able to keep in touch with her too well. But I wish her luck on entering Standford (her dream college)

ZombieCupcakes 08-05-2009 05:20 AM

Boys can be a handful sometimes, but I still love'em~! ;)

-Nope, I don't have a boyfriend at the moment, but I do kinda like someone at the moment~

- Yes. We went out and well things really weren't working out, so I broke up with him. Next thing I know he starts spreading rumors about me at school.

-Yes, I have a friend who is a boy and yes he has been acting kinda idiotic lately. He has been trying to be someone he's not, and all my friends are getting annoyed with him and they want me to stop being friends with him, but I really don't want to do that because he has been my friend since 3rd grade and I want to find out the reason why he's acting this way. I try talking to him but he either changes the subject or just doesn't answer me.
