What do you like to do when the power goes out?
It's storming here where I live, and power outage is imminent. I'm charging up my DS so I have something to do while the power is out! My boyfriend is lighting candles so we can see where we're going too. Don't wanna trip and fall :P What do you like to do when the power goes out during a storm?

find something to do mainly catch up on my reading listen to music try not to go crazy

I like to light a bunch of candles and bundle up in a blanket with a good book! Sometimes it's hard to read, but that's okay. It's still nice.
Other than that, my family have put puzzles together, done a bunch of cleaning (ew, my least favorite) and shivered in the winter. This one year was so cold, we had to sleep around the fireplace with a bunch of pillows and blankets to keep warm! I dunno why, but I liked it. Oh oh, and hide and go seek in the dark. >w< |
I usually just play with my friends or like, sit there and nap. LOL.

Well, during the day, i try to stay out of the house because I'd get really bored. If it is at night, however, I light candles, reflect on life, and possibly write some things. It's always fun to lay in bed with candle light, sorta romantic too if I was with someone else haha, but yeah

It depends on how dark it is. If there's enough light out, I like to draw and play word finds. If it's too dark, then I listen to my iPod or watch movies on it before I lose it.
One time, we got hit really hard with an ice storm, and we had the power out in freezing weather for four days. It was not fun. /semiofftopic |
Simple. You stare at the little water droplets on the window until your vision blurs and you think you can see shapes on the window. :D

I usually just sleep because I'm an only child and I don't have a cellphone.
I also play with my gameboy colour. That's right, I'm retro ;3 |
I usually sleep or doodle or play on my cellphone...anything to get my mind off the unavailable computer. D: I'd also hope that it wouldn't be a summer day when the power goes out...it's so hot without a fan or air conditioner like that >_>

I like to run outside onto my porch and watch the rain! or run around in it. But the power hasn't really gone out since hurricane Ike came through.

Usually I get my booklight and read or go sit out on the back porch and watch the storm. I mean, if the power goes out it's a really bad storm. Though the other day the power did just go out for no reason at all... :/

I actually kind of enjoy it when the power goes out.
I like to light candles to use for light if it's dark. I actually sometimes do it when the power is on and just turn out all of the lights, but it tends to annoy my parents. I usually end up just reading and writing a lot. It's actually really nice to not have the computer to tempt me to get online when I have other things I really should do. |
I dont enjoy blackoutīs at all.
Last blackout I was alone at home, after watching a documtentary on the supernatural so you can guess how that had an effect of me. |
If I'm with someone, we usually just play cards under candlelight or just chat. If I'm alone, I just sleep. =D |

I don't do much other than wait for the power to come back on. Most of me entertainment's electronic, so I'm typically bored to tears when there's no power in the house.

My dad and I usually wound up playing chess or checkers every time the power goes out by candlelight. It's pretty stimulating.
Of course we ditch the game once the TV comes back on xD |

If all else fails, I will light a lot of candles, listen to music from some portable device, and try to go to sleep. Hopefully when I wake up the storm will be gone. Btw it was storming where I live too, and I was afaid my laptop was somehow going to electricute me...XD |
If my laptop is charged I'll play games on there or sleep.

I drip candles to make other candles, It's simple really, just strange. I once made one that looked like an alien in a bathtub.

I light candles, and usually stare at the flickering flame, unless I get an idea for a story of poem.... Or me and my brother will light a fire in the fireplace and tell scary stories.

I kind of like to relax, talk to someone in the house, and maybe think too? Aha I am not sure, my power doesn't turn off often unless we use too many heaters...XCCC |
