So, for the last few weeks I've been having some problems with insomnia, I haven't been able to get to sleep until the wee hours of the morning. It's really annoying, especially when i have things to do the next day and don't really feel like sleeping until noon every day. I've had friends tell me to try sleeping pills, but I don't really like taking pills unless I'm in pain.
Anyway, I'm bored out of my mind, so I want to know. Do any of you sufferer from recurring insomnia? How do you deal with it if you do? And i kind of just want to chat with someone ^-^v

yeah, that happens a bit to me. Just out of no where your body goes "bang! No sleep for you! MWAHAHAHA"... I usually pop a Tylenol/Advil PM or a Robaxacet. They relax your muscles so it's a bit easier to sleep. If you don't want to take pills, I sometimes use reverse psychology. I challenge my body to stay up, instead of fighting it to sleep. Try watching a show/movie that you have memorized, or reading your favorite book for the 50 millionth time. Because you know it so well your mind doesn't have to focus on whats happening and will give up to sleep. Most of the time it works.

i've had phases of medication-induced insomnia.
what i found helped was hops tea, green tea, and milk with honey.
if those don't work, you can try a valerian complex.

I kept thinking about like waking up early, try not to sleep the whole day until the right time, and keep going over that over and over again...^ ^;;

Wow, lulz, so everyone decided to respond after I was forced off the computer. ;;-.-
I've tried pretty much everything y'all have suggested and none of them really worked for me. ;-; If it wasn't for my alarm clock (I hate that thing) I probably would have slept until noon at least again (it's a love/hate relationship.

I have a slight insomnia sometimes too, although it's starting to get better. I used to just lie awake and wait until like 6 AM when the sun is rising, then finally fall asleep. But now I can actually sleep through the night and not wake up at like, 3 and just play with my iPod and try to sleep until 6. So it's getting better.

I had real trouble getting to sleep around December/January time. I went for about four days, at the worst, without getting any sleep at all. I was like a zombie. Anything that happened at college was just a blur to me.
I thought about going to the doctors, but it got better week by week. I now think i suffer from Seasonal Affect Disorder. I'll have to wait until this winter before i can say for sure though. I wouldn't have liked to take pills either.

I don't suffer from insomnia, but it does take me forever to go to sleep. It's really annoying. In fact, I just woke up half an hour ago. I've gotta stop doing that.

I'm terribly sorry to here about all of your insomnia problems. I know it sucks, really :cry: I think that what's worse than not getting to sleep is the extreme boredom when all the rest of my friends have gone to bed.

I usually don't go to bed till 4am, I'm not sure if its insomnia or if my work shedule is what keeps me awake. I'm a night person so I usually don't get off work until 10:30pm. Maybe its that . I have't tried pills either but be careful because some can't be used with other medications. Like stuff for depression doesn't mix well with some types of sleep aids.

I'm definitly an insomniac. Though it's not as bad as it use to be. Changing my diet and what time I eat (from eating round 7ish to 4ish).And there's also tiring my eyes out from staring at a compture screen helps, though not as much.

My insomnia is worse than yours. Trust me. Now, I sleep for way less, and I sleep more during the day, than at night. It's kind of.. Eating me alive, well I think so.

I used to have insomnia, but I know I'm going to get it again. During the summer I have this ultimate sleeping schedule that fits my needs perfectly. But when school starts, I won't be able to sleep near as much as I want/need, and it'll come back and I'll be tired all the time and not sleeping during the night :cry:

I know what you mean, I'm fine during summer because I don't have a schedule, but when school starts, I'm dead tired all the time. X.x

I often just sleep in class :P, even though I'm not supposed to. If I've really tired myself out during the day, it helps at night. But I can stay up till dawn just hanging around the house.
