I used to act like a child even though i m 17 but certain things have happened this year that have made me mature a lot. and when i miss those days but i cant go back to them it wouldn't be the same

Morana Ryuu 09-04-2009 09:42 AM

I'm 17 but refuse to act my age at times since Maturity is over rated. People who grow up are not much fun to be around, but those who stay young at heart are normaly the best since they understand a playful side more. ^_^

I personally don't. I mean I will act my age for appropiate times and I am mature.

But when it comes to fun, I'd rather go and play Hide n' Go Seek than party at someone's house. I still get excited when I see a Playground, I want to go play on it. Zoo's and Aquariums are still fun to me, heck, I still go to them with my mom. I always ride on every single kiddie ride in Disney Land and get those big outrageous hats. If you hand me sidewalk chalk, I'll create draw pictures all over the street.
By the way you don't have to say how old you are if it makes you feel uncomfortable. I just want other to see how different you act from your age. :)

So,

Do you act your age? Why or Whynot?

If Whynot, what's your ideal fun?

Oh no, good lord no :laughs: I'm 21 and I love disney, playgrounds, para-shoot games, duck duck goose, splatter painting and goop. This is why i decided to do child care. Not to mention i'm a drama student also so i'm very dramatic and out there witch can make me seem younger than i am. That said, i know how to be a grown up, but because i'm old enough to choose, sometimes i choose not to :P

I broke the 30 mark last year, and I get more excited over a new video game than my son does. I dress up in costumes, play online, and watch cartoons (ok, anime...)

Genrally no, I don't act my age. Sometimes I'll go grocery shopping, and see other moms and their kids and think how glad I am that I never gave in to time. Maybe my body will get older, but I don't have to act like I've got curlers in my hair and a pocket full of coupons. I can shop savvy and have a good time too!!

So many people tend to forget how to have fun when doing normal everyday things as they get older. It's sad. I'm pretty sure I'll still have the urge to use my shopping cart as an impromptu skateboard and race my family to the car for a long time.

As long as you're polite and remember not to cause a big disturbance that might irritate people - who CARES what others think? It's proven that smiling and laughing are the best healing agents we have!

ME?? ACT MY AGE??? PSSSSHHHHH. Feck no. D:<
On the outside, I act like a fecking 8 - year - old. o__o
I'm squeamish about everything, and I act like a (cute) spoiled brat. Lol. XD
But, inside, people who've known me for a bit, or who've received a serious message from me KNOW that I have the maturity and understanding of a... er, how old are those wise old thinkers? o__o"

Well, yeah. That's how old . . . . O,O

Dark Lady 09-04-2009 03:40 PM

people normally thought i'm older ^^;;
maybe because i'm more mature than those in my age, both mentally and physically .___.

Dream Weaver 09-07-2009 02:34 AM

Im 51 and my granddaughters always telling me to act my age. Life is short enjoy what you want to enjoy. You can never be too young. I still listen to current music she likes and sometimes even get up and dance around for the fun of it. I love doing things that are silly and makes people laugh.

Larele 09-07-2009 04:35 AM

I am 18 and I do not 'act' my age. XD lol What's that mean anyway..? ..acting..an age.. I'm usually more along the lines of a 7-10 year old, but sometimes my parents call me 12 lol not that far. I still like to tiptoe around, bounce, skip, and catch bugs and lizards-because the snakes here are poisonous. :3 I think too I am underage in my mind. According to family there's a lot about life I should know by know, but don't. o-o Hm...

The Jupiter Alien 09-13-2009 05:35 PM

I pretty much never act my age. I'm a child at heart and I feel like I always will be one. For example, take the people in my class (2010). They wear 'grown-up' clothes, like someone 'sophisticated' dresses and such, like they're dressing semi-fancy-casual everyday. But myself? I prefer wearing something bright, tons of bracelets, necklaces, and everything. I consider myself a decora-kandi kid, so I'm usually incorporating that into my style of fashion. I love being silly, outgoing, bubbly, and just having a fun time. I'm not ready to grow up. I mean, I can be mature when it calls for it usually, but I feel like becoming too mature can make you serious, and I'd rather just live life up, you dig?

Twisted Insanity 09-13-2009 05:38 PM

I usually act my age, sometimes I can be a little more mature. Other times I can act like a little kid, but thats just around my friends... most of the time. :3

Arina2318 09-13-2009 06:05 PM

Most of the time I don't, but the other yeah I do.

[Chip] 09-13-2009 10:12 PM

I am at that age where I could be considered an adult, but as for my behavior, it is entirely dependent upon my company and emotional state whether I truly "act my age" or not.
When I am among colleges at work, I will, obviously, try to be more mature and sound without too much silliness. When at school, I try to hold a mature attitude and not appear too much of a git. When with friends, however, I range from being outright outrageous in my crazy antics complete with violent and snort-laden laughter and much childish giggling to being simply giddy with laughter, trying to hold back more.
So, in general, no, I don't act my age.

Wonderlands 09-14-2009 09:44 AM

Depends on the situation. If its an event that i have to be responsible in, im responsible.
but if its relaxed im pretty childish.
I love chalk drawings!!

and yes i still play hide n seek. I got stuck under the sink once, boy it was hot.

I just wish i was a child again.

o_pretty_o 09-14-2009 02:04 PM

im 17 and i dont act my age.. i love playing games and the zoo and lollies and ice cream and cake and lots and lots of fun i love fun i would do anything that will get my heart pumping and the things everyone says what you cant do that! :insane: but i do with my best friend we do everything together ;) anything you can think of we would do it or have done it everyone says we are crazy and too happy but hey you only have one life might as well use it and do whatever you want to (unless its something bad hehe) =3

fuyumi_saito 09-14-2009 04:49 PM

I think my age is a weird number..19..how do you act 19? I can make guesses for 18, 13, etc.. but not 19. I mean I am not like an 18 year old... but I don't know. I think.. I don't act my age because I have very childish tendencies, but for the most part..I act like me? so I don't know how old I act XD

Alice Snuffleupagus 09-15-2009 05:08 AM

Ahaha, I hardly ever act my age. I'm such a baby because I cry at things normal people wouldn't cry at >.>;;

Also I say theweirdest things and act so odd sometimes I say to myself.. "...wtf did i just say?? xDDD"

I also love to play tag and hide-ad0seek in the mall or a store, its fun :3

Btw, im only 15, so maybe my childness will wear off in a couple to a few years... who knows? -shrugs-

zumbie 09-15-2009 05:28 AM

No, I'm 21, but I act and feel 16-17. D: I wanna grow up though. I dream of growing up.

XxDreamerYunaxX 09-15-2009 10:14 PM

No, i don't. Not really anyway. I act more like a 15 year old...sometimes even younger. I love playgrounds, and zoo's, and aquariums, and parks. I like playing games, and i hate working. I hate jobs. =( I wish Neverland was a real place....

BTW i'm 19.

The Bebe Girl 09-16-2009 12:24 AM

Dependson the day, sometimes older, sometimes younger, sometimes right on the mark. *sips tea*

xSuperJail 09-16-2009 03:04 AM

I act like.. A regular 14 year old girl. Cept' less drama and bitchiness.

Couzaca 09-16-2009 03:06 AM

I just got the I'm proud of you because I've realized how much mature you have got speech from my dad today so I'm guessing I act older than I am.

God-the-almighty 09-16-2009 04:05 AM

I'm 41 and I tend to just act like myself. I don't think about an age and how I'm "supposed" to act. This last year though I probably seem to be acting older than my age because of all the pain I was in, I'm hoping that passes soon.

The Jokers Wife 09-16-2009 04:18 AM

Appently I don't act my age for others always take me for being older.
I guess it's kind of flattering though.

cashuea 09-16-2009 04:19 AM

I am almost 24, and i act like im 17 :) I just don't want to act like a grown-up!

For the most part I don't.
Many of my friends have told me I am way too mature and some have even come to call me 'old man' even though I am only 20. Of course they gave me that nickname when I was around 12-13.

At the same time I don't drink alcohol, I don't go to parties or go clubbing or anything of the sort. Rather, I spend my time reading books, listening to podcasts of the news and watching the news; learning new things/etc. So in that sense I guess I am just like some old man.

However I also have a lot of dreams and fantasies; I like playing MMORPGs and I like Anime/Manga. I can't see too many old people liking those things.
