Ah anger, it is a big part of our life in one way or another. We often see people getting angry over the smallest of matters or sometimes we see a full blow out. And of course, we ourselves are subject to falling prey many times over tiny matters as well as big matters. Sometimes anger can blind us and cause us to do things we would not normally do.
So we acknowledge our anger, well hopefully. It isn't too healthy to ignore it. It needs to go somewhere, just a matter of how we deal with it.
So my questions are:
1. What are some things you get mad over and why? Could range from little irritants that get on your nerves when they happen to the big stuff in your life. It's up to you on how much you wish to disclose.
2. What is the one thing in the world you absolutely wish to destroy/get rid of and why? Basically, what is the biggest thing that gets you in a rage-fest every time you think about it.
3. What are ways you deal with your anger? How do you let it all out? And why this way?
4. What have you done out of anger that you normally would not have done and greatly regret doing?
5. What have you done out of anger that you are glad to have done, since you would not have done it otherwise? Basically something you did that you do not regret but was stemmed from anger when you did it.
6. If you saw an angry person approaching your best friend in a threatening manner, what would your first thoughts be and what would you do?
7. Do you think someone who curses/cusses a lot is just angry at the world or angry at themselves or perhaps just trying to be cool/fit in? Basically, what are your thoughts on someone who likes to curse/cuss a lot.

1. I get mad when other people are mad. Sometimes, people are just not nice, irritants that build up and kind of explode. I get mad pretty easily.
2. My family's financial situation. Ugh. That thing just causes stress.
3. I just let it out by yelling. Sometimes I'll just listen to music and try to shut the world out. It helps.
4. I broke a couple of things that belonged to my brother. In all fairness, they were accidents.
5. "What are you trying to do to my friend?" Go over and yell at that person. Leave my friend alone!
6. Depends on why. I curse, but it has nothing to do with anger. I just swear. If a person swears a lot when they're angry, then that's obviously because of anger, and whether it's at them or others depends on the person.

1. Somethings I get mad over are when people call over to me as if I'm a dog, and another one is when I get pranked. I'll obviously be mad about the first one because it gets annoying after a while, especially when it keeps going on for more than two weeks, and the second one because there are times when they go too far and keep going with it.
2. The very thing that I would want to get rid of are basically the people that rape/critically injure/kill people, mostly children. I want to get rid of that because I'm of course a peaceful person and wish for everyone to live in tranquility, and mainly because I love children, especially my niece and nephew.
3. I deal with my anger by listening to music. I don't exactly let it out because I feel I really don't need to as long as I'm listening to a certain song.
4. What I have done out of anger was mainly throwing things around. I regret this because of reasons I'd rather not mention. No...I do not throw breakable or sharp objects, I'm angry, I'm not insane.
5. What I have done out of anger was yell at someone who really pissed me off. I don't regret it because it got my feelings out, and it made the person stop doing what they were doing.
6. I would stick with my friend, hopefully helping keep the situation calmed down. I would just hope that it doesn't get too serious to where it means getting harmed.
7. I think that people who curse/cuss a lot are just probably used to it if they're not angry. They've probably picked it up as a habit, not a very good habit, but a habit nonetheless. Though..if people who are obviously angry curse/cuss a lot, then they probably have been going through a lot when they were younger and are just venting their emotions out so that it could possibly calm themselves down.

1. I get annoyed with people who are overly clingy. I am not used to such things, and it gets on my nerves a bit... Though I usually don't say anything. I also hate to be woken up in the morning by anything that is no animate.
Haha just little things.
2. People who discriminate against others... naivitey. Uuuh and clowns. Just because they scare the jeebers out of me.
3. I usually listen to music... Singing along with lyrics, even though I have a horrible voice, helps me vent.
4. Snapping at the one I love most at the moment. I reaaallly regret that because... they mean everything to me, and are so sweet.
5. Hm... making this girl who stole from me, spread rumors about me and my family, and other such nasty things... I made her life a living hell. It was mean, but fun at the time.
6. I would be worried for them. I know it is probably not my buisness... but the fact that it is my friend, I would probably stand up for them... because I cannot mind my own buisness.
7. I think it is a mix of all on small amounts. I know I only cuss on occassion... and only when I am ranting... so I am not sure, honestly.

1. I get really angry when people assume that I speak limited Englsih because I'm Asian. I hate it. I spent a long time learning this language, and I hate that people still think I can't because of my race. D:
2. I wish I could destroy ignorance.
3. I deal with anger by bottling it up. I know it's unhealthy, but I hate confrontation. u.u
4. I shouted at my mother. Only once, but I regret it to this day. And I can't apologise now.
5. I'm glad that I once told someone what I really thought. I never would have done that unless I was angry and it made things a lot easier. :)
6. Get in between them and try to calm the situation.
7. I don't like swearing. It seems unecessary and vulgar to me. When I'm angry I just get quiet, I've never felt the need to swear.

I've been in the art program for four years now and I feel like I've been through a lot because of it. I've had my share of bad teachers, and my share of good ones. I've been ridiculed, criticized, praised, forgotten, overlooked, looked-over, and even once told to quit college and join the circus. All in all, that's the experience of being an artist: its not all shiny-happy-pretty-artsy-fartsy-friends-and-family. Its a commitment. Its job training. Its a competition.
Having that said, I must now share with you the pet peeves of other art students I have heard in the past few years:
"I didn't get the class I wanted because some stupid bitch stole my spot and she's not even a part of this department!" She didn't "steal" your seat. She got it fair and square because you took too long to request the course. She's allowed to have an interest in a class outside her department, and if you had an interest in another class I'm sure you would try your hardest to get into it as well.
"Prof. Gee failed me because he hates me!" Prof. Gee is hard on everyone because he wants to see you succeed. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
"They won't let me draw what I want to draw!" Because if we let you draw the same anime character five-million times, you would never grow as an artist.
"Why are they making me take this stupid pre-requisite? I'm a 3D modeling major, not a sculptor!" Because you need to know how to work with your hands. If you did it all on the computer, you wouldn't have a full understanding of 3D space. Sculpture majors have to take the 3D modeling class as well.
"I shouldn't have to take Art History." Yes, you should. Because when someone in the future at your gallery opening asks you if you were inspired by Caravaggio or Reubens, you want to be able to answer them with "no, actually! I drew my inspiration from the early work of Rembrandt: see the emphasis on line instead of form? I was imitating the linear quality of early Aquatint techniques in intaglio printwork."
"Someone stole my idea!" No. No he didn't. You all live in the same town, you all eat the same food, and you all spend all your time in the same building. He didn't steal your idea: you were all inspired by THE SAME THING.
I have more, which is sad. I'm eventually going to publish the rant and post it on the public board on campus... see if anyone does anything.

Oh wow. Yep I've experienced most of those scenarios either myself or from people I know, I used to be an art major. ^^
You should post it, I bet you would get some interesting responses. It may even shed some light for some people too.
I've also noticed how some people get way too defensive/touchy-feely about their own work too. Like if you make any comment that has any hint of negativity about it, critiquing it basically/trying to help them by offering advise or opinions, they jump on you and say that you are wrong and what not. It's kinda sad. They need to get out of their little perfect bubble and see that they can produce much better work with practice.

1. I get mad pretty easily actually. I get agrivated if I am spending WAY too much time with someone, if I hear a noise that just keeps GOING and GOING that I don't want to hear...or things like that.
2. ...People I don't like...and racist...and...exes...stuff like that. *giggle*
3. I usually punch a pillow, or scream in a pillow, or yell at a pillow, or...just hold it all in. At least Im not like that woman on shinchan who beat up that poor bunny.
4. Hit the closest living thing to me. I've been stopping that though. That's abuse...and abuse is bad : D
5. Well I had held in some anger about someone...and finally bitched them out about how vein she is and what not...eh it's nothing too important.
6. I would probobly shrug, and grab my friend and walk off.
7. Well...I curse a lot and what not, and I am pretty angry sometimes...so yeah. Probobly, hehe.

Sorry I disappeared. Wontons were present. >>
I can understand people being sensitive about their own work. I'm guilty of taking some personal offense when my work is involved, especially when I was a freshman. But some people just flounce. One of my friends actually dropped it as a major because she was "no good, according to Anderson." Anderson wasn't a particularly good professor to begin with, but that one experience wasn't supposed to be enough to make such a rash decision.
And people who take art because they think its going to be "easy." GODS! I want to smack them! It cheapens the entire experience if they think that because they were a big shot in their high school art class they're going to automatically be just as successful with just as much effort. ><
And I thought of something while I was in the shower (unrelated? Yes it is!): The hierarchy of departments is a complete fabrication of the students. Here is how people think it works:
Drawing, Painting, Sculpture=top of the food chain because they're the purest of art forms, all the way back to the great masters.
Printmaking, Metalwork, Furniture-sculpture, Photography = second-down because while they do imitate the same principles of higher fine arts, their purpose is to make money, work on a smaller scale, or create reproducible works.
Graphic Design (Vis Com) = third-down because it has the same basic fundamentals as Drawing and Painting, but requires work on commission or employment and is therefore selling-out.
Animation/Video= because it requires participation of more than one person, is a commercial art, and is fairly new to the department, it is bottom rung. Sorry, Andy. We still love you.
All of the above is entirely false. Aside from a few personal grudges, all the professors have good standing with each other. There is no hierarchy. It is entirely a fabrication of the students so they can either feel superior or justify their whining with an inferiority complex.
It occurs to me... that I write a lot. Perhaps I should do a dissertation on Art-Kid-Psychology...

I know! I get that some things are ridiculously similar and sort of enfringing on copyright law, but anyone who spends more than an hour on the Internet will concur that there is no such thing as a completely new idea. Its called "convergent evolution." I used to feel bad if I saw something similar to the plot of my webcomic out there in the world somewhere, and then I realized that I would never win that battle if I fought. Some people just... think similarly. They just beat me to it, is all. And by the time anything I do obtains the fame that I want it to, the other thing that resembled it will be either be long forgotten, or people will call it an homage. C'est la vie, eh? ^^

For one thing I detest how people rub/gloat things in my face (like really hardcore shoving in my face). Such as, if I did something and someone who did something better starts rubbing in my face to the extreme that triggers my anger. I also hate how really immature attitudes. I cannot tolerate that kind of behvaior, having a little bratty sister sort of gave me that feeling. I also get really mad when m computer freezes up or just won't download something. ._.'' I like everything to go smoothly and especially when sellers tell you it's a good computer and it's slow as hell.

How snobby moms take their daughters and turn them into preppy little princesses. I'm really sick and tired of how those moms doll up their daughters and try to turn them into goddesses. Also, I would also like to destroy modeling and advertisements with "really sexy looking girls".

Well I yell a lot... and I slam my fists into some object. Once I'm angry, I can get really out of control if I don't get it out fast enough. Too bad I don't have any of those stress toys. :P

I flipped my sister by her ankle and slammed her on the ground when she really ticked me off. I was thirteen and I could lift my sister up and slam her back to the ground. O-o (I was scared and amazed at myself at the same time). Thankfully, I didn't break anything in her body. That was really a bad day. .__.

In the seventh grade, I called an eighth grader a slut when she started gloating about how she was beating us in volleyball. The look on her face was priceless. Then she asked me if I really meant it and I said yes. Then she told me to say it in her face... and I went ahead and did. I freaked her out and I became the talk of the school for a while. My friends were excited that I did that for some reason. I'm surprised that the girl didn't do anything about it to get back at me.

1.Really? I get mad over the little things, like the habits of myself and others. Sometimes a person seems really nice and all, but just their mannerisms or general state annoy the shit out of me.But not the big things. When something big and bad happens to me, I tend to not get angry, but rather sink into a wordless depression.I don't even cry or anything, I just like...mope.
Edit~ I also get really mad when people complain about insignificant things, or during movies.Ex/ MOTHER. Always bitching about the acting, or how a line makes no sense to her, or how the character got out of the building without her seeing anything.
2.Insolence.Period. Not insolent people, no. If I did that, there be, like, NO ONE left. Just insolence. It gets me very, very angry. Luckily, I'm able to contain it until I cool off.
3.I go outside or to the computer and listen to music. I admit, when I'm mad, it's usually because I'm stubborn and demand that someone else is wrong/ faultful. But once I'm on my own, I'm able to cool down enough that I can force myself to see the other person's point of view.Of course, I don't want to, I want the other person to admit to being stupid, but I force myself to. I always end up looking stupid myself in the end, even after I apologize.
4. ...I'm so ashamed. I don't think I'll ever be able to live it down. You'll hate me forever. But you have to know, I was really young back then, like, before the age when you can really control and understand yourself, and others. Here goes...
...I tried to strangle my grandmother. Over something very, very stupid. There, I said it. I'll regret myself for the rest of my life.
5. I got a lot of complaints festering in my head out. Sometimes I get so angry, I'll get away from everyone as fast as I can and rant.Rant about everything and anything I can think of. Then, I feel much better.
6.Approach said friend in a friendly matter. Smile at friend, and give a warning-look to angry person. If they're smart, they back off. If they're not, I can usually provoke something mindless and violent out of them, causing an authority to come over immediately. No harm done.
...That's how I always do it. I'm a manipulative bitch, sometimes.
7.Okay. I know a lot of people curse when they're angry, but I think most people are just trying to fit in. Actually, I've caught myself cursing excessivly before, and I wasn't even that angry, or trying to fit in. As a matter of fact, I go out of my way to NOT fit in.
The words just fit the sentence perfectly, and portrayed my message better. "What the heck" doesn't really do it for me, but "What the hell," or "What the fuck," always seem to work out.
...Darn, I'm still in a damper about number four.D8

1. I usually get angry when I feel taken advantage of, or just under appreciated. I hate it especially when people know what annoys me, and use it against me.
2. The one thing I really want to get rid of.... i dont know. There are many things that bother me. But then if I think about trying to get rid of them, it seems to throw everythnig else off balance. :|
3. To let it out, I think about doing something really bad to that person/thing. Then I feel better, even though nothing has really changed.
4. I haven't done really done anything as to what I've answered in the last question....'
5. Nothing I can remember.....
6. I would tell them to take their problems somewhere else.
7. I'm not sure about this one- I know that my parents cuss alot when they're mad. But my dad uses small curse words for no reason I guess. I know some of my friends do it, but mostly to sound cool.

1. I get EXTREMELY angry when people hurt the ones I care about.
2. ASSUMPTIONS. I get really frustrated when people don't bother to ask me and just assume things about me.
3. It depends on the degree of my anger. If I was REALLY angry, I'd probably get really violent... but that's rare. If I was just angry, I'd become quiet and sleep it off.
4. I punched my friend. I regret it because I don't like violence at all unless it's for self-defense AND he was my friend. I was so angry at him at the time that I lost control and hurt him. Well, he WAS being a complete jerk, but still, I shouldn't have resorted to fighting physically.
5. I blackmailed someone... it actually wasn't all that bad of a threat... but hey, it worked, and I was happy. I'd never have the guts to do that if I wasn't under the influence of INTENSE ANGER.
6. I'd probably think, 'WHAT'D HE/SHE DO THIS TIME?' and go over, snatch my friend's wrist, and pull him/her somewhere else. If the threatening person insisted on following, I'd probably stop and confront him/her.
7. I don't think cussing is really a 'ftting in' kind of thing. Sometimes it just ENHANCES a sentence. Lol. I don't know if it's just me, but I find cussing hilarious, as long as it's not serious or directed at someone in an offensive manner. xD

i actually get mad at the stupidest things sometimes, but, to be honest, i think everybody gets mad over something 'stupid' sometimes.
but, anyways, i don't like it when people irritate me, especially when i don't want them in my business. they'll just keep bothering me about it, and i'll just kinda be like 'shut the fukk up.'
i also don't like it when people ask stupid questions, especially when i'm in a bad mood.
sometimes i get mad for no reason whatsoever, but that's only 'coz there ARE times when i wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
i'm pretty sure i get mad over other things as well, but, as you can see, i'm having trouble remembering those things. xD;

hmmm... i think i'd like to get rid of all of the people that i like to look at with disgust. i'm very shallow, so i'm always judging a book by a cover, so i'll end up h8ing something before i even get to know it. i always listen to what other people say about that thing/person as well, so that ends up deepening my hatred. so yep. i think that's what i'd want to get rid of. o:

this is actually a good question. why? 'coz i have two different ways of dealing with my anger. it all really depends on how pissed off i am.
the first way i just let it go and try to move on, as if nothing happened, and this is when i'm only irritated or slightly annoyed.
the second way is i burst into a big outburst and start arguing. it doesn't matter WHO i'm arguing with; i will win the argument. i always had that thing in me. so yeah...
OH. i almost forgot! there are even times when i get SOOOO angry, that i cry, but that's only when i fist fight with people.

hmmm... i think i would have done something even without being angry, so i can't really answer this question.

6. If you saw an angry person approaching your best friend in a threatening manner, what would your first thoughts be and what would you do?
|
well, it depends on which friend it is, not saying that i wouldn't go help him/her out anyway. if it was a girl, i'd be sure to stand ground with her, and if the opposing person tried to fight her, then i'd be sure to have her back until the end. if my friend was a guy, i'd be sure to stay with him till the end, maybe even call a few other guy friends to come help him out if needed.

7. Do you think someone who curses/cusses a lot is just angry at the world or angry at themselves or perhaps just trying to be cool/fit in? Basically, what are your thoughts on someone who likes to curse/cuss a lot.
|
i think people cuss because they want to. i cuss; it's a habit for me, really. if you're cussing just to try to fit in, then you're really dumb, but i'm pretty sure there are some people out there that are like that. i also think that when you're angry, you're more likely to cuss more than usual, since it's cussing that usually pisses the other person off the most, especially if you call them a bitch or dickhead or etc.

Thanks for taking the time in sharing your thoughts, everyone.
I know it is kinda late to say so, but I do mean it. Usually helps to get fresh insight / perspectives on certain topics. ^^

1. What are some things you get mad over and why? Could range from little irritants that get on your nerves when they happen to the big stuff in your life. It's up to you on how much you wish to disclose:
|
when people reply one word to emails, texts, IM's; when people get mad at you because apparently theres something wrong with something you told the truth about; when you tell a friend not to call another friend until the next day and then they call the person late at night and the other person gets in trouble and gets mad at you for it. ><

2. What is the one thing in the world you absolutely wish to destroy/get rid of and why? Basically, what is the biggest thing that gets you in a rage-fest every time you think about it:
|
My boyfriends mother and how she wants to control his world; my parents for forcing me to break up with him (i really didnt...); and when you call a person and they dont answer, but they text you a minute later saying, sup?

I cry usually..just because I cant really seem sad around my family...and I dont like seeming weak around my friends and bf...

4. What have you done out of anger that you normally would not have done and greatly regret doing?:
|
I regret nothing.

I really dont know. Maybe they are just mad but they can deal with it in other ways. or they might have just picked it up from a group of friends. Thats what happened to me.

I can get mad quite easily, although I'm known as quite a calm person between friends, in reality (my family certainly know, anyway! :P) I'm very quick to anger, as it runs in the family, so anything can set me off really. I'm a clumsy person so that sets it off daily. Dropping things, doing something wrong, anything silly like that can quickly temper me. I have a short temper and I really, really wish I didn't, haha! :|

Ooh, good question! :O
In the end I would probably go for very arrogant people. The kind that both online, and in real life think and clearly act as if they are smarter and better than everybody else for no reason. :sarcasm: Especially, as I know somebody who fits this perfectly, in my opinion, and when pressure is put on them from a teacher, they melt like putty. Typical...
These kind of people anger me even more than the type to be mean to your face.

On my own it's usually to strike and things, which ends up with a lot of broken objects, and a sore hand! I swear too, something I'm not proud of. I take a while to let off my steam, and try and avoid people while doing so. When I'm at school though, I've got used to not reacting, so I just tend to do what I would do at home, in my head. :P

A lot of fighting for silly reasons, and mainly saying harsh things. Not to friends or anything, as I don't care to get too close to many people at school, I have friends but would only count about one as a "close" friend. Family, mainly, as we tend to clash (like most) in the first place. I regret a lot of things, yet find myself hard to apologise, due to having a lot of foolish pride in these situations.

As bad as this sounds, snapping and hurting bullies when I was slightly younger. I'd been bullied all the way through school at that point and had no friends when I was of a young age. I finally snapped and although many people claim it's not right, I don't see it that way. It lifts something off your shoulders, and although the bullying or the problem isn't going to stop instantly, it really helps, even if just a bit of sweet revenge. :P

The thing is I don't really have a "best friend", as I've always ended up in a bad state due to these kind of relationships, and I still do currently.
I'd just leave them to it, as that's what they would do for me, yet act like I was the one in the wrong. Family though, I'd instantly get riled and probably storm in unprepared, as I've found that's what I've done in a previous situation.

All of them! They all are reasons. I think genrally it's just out of anger, as it really does help to claim something out loud that is known as "wrong", it just releases some of your anger, like, "look at me, I'm rebeling!" sort of thing.
I live in England, and most children my age put the F word inbetween every word, no lie. Now that is silly. :sarcasm:

1. I get mad at the littlest things like seeing the people that live around me being lazy and never wanting to help out or making a mess and just walking away from it without picking up after themselves. But, some days i get mad for no reason at all and i try not to take that out on anyone.
2. umm... well i dont know that question is kinda hard to answer.
3. I deal with my anger by either taking a walk to a peaceful place or just yell at everyone that pisses me off then shut myself in my room to simmer down. I do this because it calms my nerves and because there is no other way.
4. well, i really regret hurting people.. i dont mean it sometimes but on occasion its like there asking for it.
5. umm well im not quite sure.
6. Well, first i would try to find out what there angry about. Then i would try to make it so that there calm again by making them realize that what ever it is that there mad about that its not as bad as it seems.
7. I think that people who cuss alot that arent quite yet adult just do it to fit in or be "cool" or intimidating. But people who are older that cuss alot could just plain not be happy with there lives and think that everything in it is just wrong.

I have a bad temper so I'm easy to get pissy.
But I get over it fast.
There are tons of things I get pissy over.
Too many things to name.
