OH MY GOD IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!! The only thing about it is that inside the seeds "capsule" is all gross and muscusy. Has anyone ever had a star fruit? And if not, YOU SHOULD TRY ONE!!!! And if you have one but don't know how to eat it this is how:
1. Get a starfruit that is ripe(you can tell by the ridges being dark.)
2.Cut off the dark tip along each ridge
3.Cut off both stem ends of the fruit
4.Slice it
5.Remove the seeds
6.Eat and repeat x3
This is the website i got the instructions from: http://thaifood.about.com/od/introto...uithowto_6.htm
I swear, the starfruit is now my favorite fruit!!

Yeah I had some in Maui. There's like no grocery stores that sell Star Fruit here in Southern California though..

Oh well if you're ever in Rochester, New York, you can go to wegmans and they have them sometimes. How would you describe the taste??? I say the texture is like an orange sort of but it kind of tastes like a green grape and an apple...

It's been a long time since I had them, I was only in Third Grade. It was citrus-y to me and sorta apple tasting. I just remember it was just really good. I would love to have a star fruit tree in my backyard.

I tried one a few months ago. Someone at school gave me a piece. It was ok, but I didn't think it was anything to amazing.
I'd take a good strawberry over a starfruit any day.

Yes they are. They're similar to an orange and papaya.

I thought they tasted like a shampoo when you were younger and you accidentally got shampoo in your mouth. xP
They sell them all the time at Publix in Florida.

I think they're a bit too sour for my liking...but it's pretty refreshing to eat every once in a while. :)
The seeds are pretty annoying though, I agree. D:

Honestly, I don't think I have ever eaten a starfuit. Though, if you say they are good I will have to try one. I also doubt that they are probably sold anywhere around here... so I probably won't be able to eat one anytime soon.

I had a star fruit once, but I think it was unripe, because it was crunchy and a bit tart. Maybe it was just my expectations (I thought it would be soft and sweet) making it seem worse than it really was, but I didn't like it all that much. I was yellow (I wouldn't have eaten a green one O.o) but I guess it still wasn't ready. Hmm...but I don't remember seeing any seeds in mine. I usually eat apple, pear, watermelon, etc. and just eat the seeds along with the fruit, but I didn't find any in my starfruit. Maybe mine was just defective. :XD

They seem to be related to the orange but they tastes more like an apple, just a whole lot less crunchy.

Hmmm, I've always wanted to try one... I wonder if I could find one in stores here. I'm pretty sure I'm really far from where they're actually grown... ^^;
