Whoot! Just got back in from my school's campus kickoff. Great fun. I got lots of candy and free dinner. And then I went to Fred's and bought a desk and a binder and a giant pillow. Free energy drink, more free food. It was awesome!

What does your school do to kick off the year?

I've no clue, I'm not attending it.

my campus doesn't a thing, which is kind of disappointing, but i guess it's nothing special anyway, well, nothing special for me at least.

We have freshman orientation that lasts a few days. When I did mine it was pretty boring (I actually did fall asleep during one of the lectures). There was free food and getting to know people exercises but it really didn't seem worth it...so I skipped the other two days ^^;

Wow, I go to a non-traditional school, so we have to fight to have any on camps activities at all. I'm surprised that no one else's Universities do anything cool. =/

Since I live off campus, we don't really go to our kickoff. There is the Quad Bash, though. That's next week.

But we have this thing every Saturday called Late Nite that's supposed to be an alternative to drinking. I'm staff there. I started work at 6... and ended work at 3 am. I was running the popcorn machine next to the dancefloor. And they wanted us to be all high-energy, so I was standing at my post, dancing. There were two guys out there on the floor wearing nothing but red, head-to-toe nylon leotard skinsuits. It was weird.

And then I slipped on butter and re-injured my ankle. D=

Only in college will you see people dress like that. At least, I hope so. I live off of campus too, but I'm close enough that I can still walk there, so I pretend that I do. =p

Orientation... I'm kind of excited but the band line-up is so crappy. Like insanely crappy. Like if you found a garbage can and hit it and yelled out Chain by School of Seven Bells it would be so insanely better. So instead we're all planning on utilizing fraudulent identification to see some local bands instead.

That's about it. I'm avoiding the whole campus life, thank god, so I'm just gonna attend what's fun and avoid freshmen beatdownz.
