I don't like mice or rats, pets or otherwise. They scare me, for no obvious reason that I can find as far as I remember I've not had a bad experience with one like being bit or anything but they terrify me.

I had one of those things that plug in all last year it said it kept spider, mice and other insect type things out, it didn't work on spiders.

Maybe the sheer fact some people class them as creepy crawlies?

I'd still like to get one. Maybe it will keep out the poisonous spiders. The cellar spiders and I have made our peace with each other. I was afraid of them growing up but they don't bother me now.

It's not karma, you know... It's animals goin' bonkers 'cause the world is shifting.

So, don't freak out TOO much. They're as scared as you are. If not more so...

I only say karma because my entire family's personalities have all suddenly shifted as well. No one is acting in character, so it's all very strange. XD;

And I know he's scared, that's why I want to send him on his way outside, but we've yet to catch him. Going to invest in some more humane traps this weekend.

My next door neighbor has an aviary full of birds, and mice are attracted to the bird seed she has stored, as a result sometimes those mice hang around my home. Last month there was a mouse hanging around the lounge room in my home, the funny thing though, was that it wasn't my cat that found the mouse but my dog, lol, she kept sniffing around the couch so i moved the couch and there was this big, ugly brown mouse eww. It ran and we couldn't find it again after that:sweat: Funny though my dog found it before the cat did lol.

XD My dog lives at my dad's place, but at this rate I bet Mika would sniff the rat out much faster than Gabriel. Who is being markedly apathetic even by feline standards.

Is there any way of mimicking that noise on a computer, or would I need to go to an animal store of some sort? I've been looking for years for some sort of emitter that would keep out spiders and insects, so I'd be able to pick up two of them.

Ah, yeah, I thought that may be why. I unplug everything at night, but the second I plugged my PC in today he took off like a... Well, a rat out of my bedroom. :P
You can find the sound emitters at stores everywhere now. A popular brand is the Riddex. You've probably seen the ads. And the traps can most likely be found at pet specialty stores. If you can't find one, contact animal control. They may be able to provide you with one. I hope this helps!

Oh man, I feel really bad for you, it's like you're going through a long FML. I hope things get better and that mice and bugs stay out of your house!

At least you know what it is. D: Over the past few months, when I've been having trouble sleeping, I hear this sound outside my window that sounds like a large animal is dragging something out of the pond in my backyard. No one else can hear it and it's horrible. I hate it. D:

That's terrible.:( I had the same problem a few months ago. Me and my family didn't know what was it. It didn't sound like an animal, something we never heard before. Being honest, sounded like a alien or something like that.:XD

But it ended, so we now sleep without worries.

By the way, if this helps to catch the mouse: The mouse is more scared than you.

Sounds stupid, but it helps you feel more comfortable to catch it without being afraid.;)

Sounds like you need a Chihauhau, they were bred to hunt rodents after all. :3

I sometimes hear scratches in the walls in the summer. It's annoying but I have nothing to worry about cause we have cinder block walls. But the cage trap that someone mentioned sounds good for you to use. The sound emitters sounds good too.

Shinjuu-chan: Thank you. <3 No luck with the emitters, though. And unfortunately, when we called animal control for the raccoons getting into our they were extremely apathetic, as with the injured stray cats, so I hold no hope in them.

Jupiter Alien: Yeah, an FML about sums it up for numerous reasons I can't say on Mene. ;o; Thank you. <3

StripedSocks`: Oh jesus. @[email protected] That sounds horrible! Maybe it's some sort of mythical creature? D:

Misgiven: Do you think whatever it was just up and left? XD Possibly to its home planet?

Larele: Is that so? :3 I didn't know that. I don't much like chihuahuas though. XD I've had many a bad experience with little ones who thought they were pitbull sized and were thusly territorial as all get out.

Blkmage Disaster: That's probably just squirrels in your walls. ^^ That';s what I thought we had at first. Those are annoying, but don't bother me too much. They usually skitter in for a minute, decide there's nothing of use to them, and take off again. XD

Oirish: =/ It isn't the mouse as it is the stressful month 'm having which has grown increasingly worse each day, today included. The mouse was just an anxiety trigger because it was another problem I wasn't expecting, and didn't need.

Something I should also probably mention now: I'm deathly allergic to just about everything. Dust, pollen, fur. And due to a severe heart condition, I cannot take any medications for my allergies. So the fact I haven't caught this mouse for days has so far caused a swollen and pussy throat, dizzying migraines/fainting spells, and a lot of wheezing.

There's numerous humane traps covering the house, now. But we've not caught the bugger.

Ceridwen- Yes, some can be territorial! They are small dogs with hearts of lions. XD lol ..but..they get the job done, that's for sure! Personally, I like rodents, and have caught and released a few at my grandparents..who own several Chihauhaus..but many are old and lazy. =p I have this funny story about a tiny mouse in their house.. No one could catch it..too small to trigger the trap, but it took the food-perhaps this is your problem? ..if you ever see it..quick and run it into a closed area if you can. I did, and caught one as it jumped in the tub. There was still bubbles from earlier..poor little thing looked a mess. XD

*chuckles* Yes, it seems the smaller the dog, the bigger the bite.

that's a cute story. XD I really don't mind little mice, I've handled the babies. I just don't like rat-sized adults.

Oh, no, this one isn't little. I've encountered it a few times, and at first glance it's like a baby rabbit without the ears. oO;; I've actually tried swallowing my nerve and manually catching it or shooing it at least out of my room with a broom, but it's faster than lightning. It likes running past my feet underneath the desk quite a lot, for some reason. I've read they're partial to tunnels, so I'm hoping to find something to set up under there for it.

I even dreamt last night it was crawling all over me in bed. @[email protected]

Yes. lol

Hm? Well, I suppose so. ^^ Yeah..they are cute! ..hm..the big ones bite. >>

..wow..really? ..sounds like a rat then..

..hm..how about a box? You know the kind where you prop it just enough for a critter to get in, then pull the thing on the string that is raising it? ..oh! I have another idea. The pet store sells things pet mice like to play in..but they are slow getting out..a baby rabbit is pretty big compared to a mouse..so one of those plastic tunnels with bait should slow it down enough, but close one end. Then when you hear nibbling, get a clear plastic container- so you can see what you're doing-and then find something very thin to slide under it, to close it off.

Oh gotcha. :XP
I know how that goes.
I had 8 panic attacks in one day 2 days ago.
Most horrible day of my life. The attacks themselves were traumatizing.
...and 2 today. Luckily I calmed down though.
...and I'm out of my perscription so basicly I hyperventilate until I pass out or hit something or burn myself. D;
I feel your pain man. :XD
I just hope nothing else stressful comes along.
Good luck man, I hope it gets better for you.

My teacher told me he put poison traps, and mouse traps and they didn't work. Then, they got a cat and it killed the damned thing. Get another cat, rofl. Or, maybe try finding where the mouse is coming from. Don't let that thing screw with your car, they can mess them up really bad. Also, the spiders. Kill them, keep the house closed up pretty good. We only get spiders in our basement, but maybe that's just because this is Seattle. XD

Wolf spiders can live in any climate, so it could very well be that. They're everywhere here in Wisconsin, and we get all the seasons at full :) Also, mice don't just stay a night and then move on, if it's there it's got a nest. I doubt it's in a box that's too out in the open, and if he'd been in there before the move, he'd have left, they don't like their homes being so movable. Also, if you're not going to kill it, you're going to have to do more than just take it outside. It's just going to come right back in otherwise. Trust me, they have their ways. It's best to get it in a container and take it at least a mile from your house. If you decide to kill it, I suggest against the rat poison. They don't tend to fall for it as easily as one would think, and your at could get into it.

When I still lived at home with my grandparents we used to get bats in our house. We had a baby one make a storage room in our basement it's permanent living space. He only came out at night while no one was down there, and he had all the spiders and crickets he could imagine. We let him stay since he wasn't bothering anyone and he kept all the bugs away :) He did end up flying out the door one day though :(

Honestly, I hear scratching noises all the time... but I'm a rather paranoid person. I am diagnosed with anxiety, or at least, 'they' are treating me for it. Not to say that the medication helps all that much, haha, but it helps me to sleep, at least.
