My name doesn't have a meaning because it's spelled weird. My name is spelled RAECHEL. But the other spelling, RACHEL, mean 'Ewe', as in sheep. o.o...weird...

The boy's name Casey \c(a)- sey\, also used as girl's name Casey, is pronounced KAY-see. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is "alert, watchful". From the male Gaelic name Cathasaigh. Also possibly a short form of Casimir. Made famous by the song about the engineer of the Cannonball Express train, Casey Jones. Tabitha
Quote:

Means "gazelle" in Aramaic. Tabitha in the New Testament was a woman restored to life by Saint Peter. Her name is translated into Greek as Dorcas (see Acts 9:36). As an English name, Tabitha became common after the Protestant Reformation. It was popularized in the 1960s by the television show 'Bewitched', in which Tabitha (sometimes spelled Tabatha) is the daughter of the main character.

Work. Yeah. Pretty lame, although it's true I'm pretty hardworking. As long as I'm interested on the subject.

I thought it was cute...

Bleak Banter 09-28-2009 01:29 AM

Alright, my first name is complex.
You take the word Sophia (meaning wisdom)
Change it to its pet name, Sonia
And then screw it up by making it unique: Sonja

That means that my name technically means wisdom. You know, if you like having rediculous stretches.
=P Other than that, though, it means nothing.

Amicus 09-28-2009 01:49 AM

My name is Tristis. <3 It's a Latin word meaning "sorrowful" or "bitter".

PaintTheSkyRed 09-28-2009 01:50 AM

Mine is Kara, a form of Katherine and it means "Pure."

ASingingGaijin 09-28-2009 03:43 AM

My name is Kristine which means Christ-follower. My family has always been really steady church-goers and we still are. So that's where my first name domes from. My dad is the pastor of our church, which is kind of weird sometimes, and so we're there like 2-3 times a week. Not much time to lolligag~ ;) But anywho~ It Scandinavian and it's the feminine form of Christians. Other names played off of Christian are Christopher, Chris, Christi, Kristin, I guess you could spell any of them with CH or K. Doesn't really matter. ;D

Vanessa is a lovely name. It was invented by a writer for a poem, Cadenus & Vanessa. He mixed the name of a friend of his to create it.
But I understand the irony of your situation. Butterflies are creepy upclose, but fun to watch fly about. They rarely even go by people, unless you don't move.
At least they dont bite. ^_^

Terra517 09-28-2009 05:11 PM

My name means Crown or something like that in French/Greek. Pretty interesting. I like my name too although it's quite common. lol

Martel Irasia 09-28-2009 07:53 PM

My first name is Jennifer.
I have a book of Baby Names, and in it, it states that my name means... "White Wave" or also... "White Phantom"
I didn't know that before, which, when I discovered it, it gave me a new appreciation of my name, which I have hated for a while. At least until I discovered the meaning of my name..
Jennifer is also derived from the name Guinevere (which can be spelled in many ways...)

Francis 09-28-2009 11:20 PM

Hm, my first name is Shannon... Not really sure what it means. D;>

I really like the meaning of your name. White Phantom sounds really cool. XD I don't like my name too much and didn't help when I found the meaning of it either.
