I'm not a large fan of my name, I prefer to be called by my last name, a lot of people just refer to me as my husbands wife, which I don't mind.

koneko of the nekos 10-30-2009 07:10 PM

i know a few people that don't mind being referred to as their husband's wife or their master's pet. the relationships like that always interest and intrigue me. i don't think my personality is suited for it though. :)

DearMyself 10-31-2009 12:47 AM

I absolutely hate when people I don't know, or am not even close friends with decide to use my name in an awkward manner. For instance, TODAY, someone I'm not even close to called me Ambie. My aunt calls me Bambi though....the whole thing is annoyed. Ack, if you didn't know my name is Amber....if it wasn't clear..

my grandma and step-dad (who's been around for 23 years of my life) still insist that i spell my name Jenn instead of Jen.

Rainbows 10-31-2009 01:34 AM

I really hate it when people call me "Mel". .__.
There are some exceptions though, including my Portuguese speaking friend who told me one time that mel means/sounds like honey in portuguese.. Lol.
But I really, really don't like it when people I don't know call me mel because they either can't pronounce my name or don't even want to try. D< Especially gym teachers. Every one I've ever had that has had to call me by some name has called me "mel". D:

Or melon. I used to get called that in grade school... And recently 'sunshine' or 'eggplant', because of my randomly changing hair colours.. >_>
("Ohohoho! Today your hair is the colour of sunshine! How long did you bleach it for?!")

teruki 10-31-2009 02:08 AM

In middle school, one guy called me 'Gothika' all the time because he thought I was goth... siiigh. It was super annoying and I'd be dumb and respond to it and get all huffy and angry.

Uhh, usually I just hate my name being mispronounced. My name is Gabriela. Not Gay-briela. Not Gra-biela. Not Gabrielle. And certainly not Gabriel.
Ohh, and I hate when people who have just met me decide to call me Gaby. Yes, it's what I go by, but if they call me Gaby before I tell them, "but you can call me Gaby." or without asking "Do you go by Gaby?" I want to hit them.

I think it's funny when people want to shorten my nickname. Isn't Gaby easy enough? People call me 'Gab' or 'Gabs' sometimes. I don't really mind that one.

Just remembered one. Abby. ABBY?! I HATE ABBY. THERE IS A 'G' BEFORE THE 'ABY'. G-ABY. Abby drives me insane. Even worse, ABIGAIL. Gabriela and Abigail are so different, fdsijgs. Gaby does not equate to Abby and therefore is not Abigail. Luckily, this one isn't so common~

Kwenda 10-31-2009 02:37 AM

The one I've never liked is Katy-did. I am not an insect, thank you very much! My name is Kaitlyn, and I'll respond to any variation thereof, except Katy-did. I prefer Kachie or Katie or Kitty, but I'm stuck with Kaitlyn at work because there's two other Katies there.

Hollowsan 10-31-2009 02:40 AM

With the name George, you had some bad things coming to you write away.People would call me Georgie Porgie and recite that damn rhyme!I hated it but now I am more mature and am totally use to it.Now,I have one deuce in my biology class who calls me chunks just because I am pudgy. That shit ticks me off.Everyday,I come in class cursing at the dude just cause he calls me chunks!

koneko of the nekos 10-31-2009 03:21 AM

lmao. my mother-in-law's name is Margie and we make her name into that Georgie Porgie rhyme. or he youngest son calls her margerine. she has obnoxious children. lmao.

Escapist 10-31-2009 03:42 AM

My nickname is Kit, everyone calls me Kit. I had a teacher my freshman year that decided to tack Miss onto the front of it. Everytime she saw me (throughout the rest of high school, too) She would call me Miss Kit. I don't know why but I absolutely cannot STAND when people call me Miss Kit. I hate the way it sounds or something. UGH!

koneko of the nekos 10-31-2009 03:48 AM

i hate being called MRS mylastname. I worked in an elementary school for 2 years and had them call me Miss Jen instead. tolerable stuff.

chrom0 10-31-2009 04:14 AM

I hate it when my fiancee calls me chromo. That is a real nickname from gaming and lans that I worked at, but that was after I met my fiancee.
I dont know why I dislike him calling me that so much....
Its weird when my internet/gaming friends call me by my first name. xD

Fabby 10-31-2009 05:14 AM

I really really hate it when anyone uses my last name in reference to me, EVER. I cannot stand my last name. Aside from the fact that everyone has to make jokes about it (that got old after the third time) I just really hate that name.

And I find it weird when people who aren't my close family call me Ash. I don't actually mind being called Ash, but the only people who call me that anymore are my family. It's just kind of annoying when people who I hardly know start abbreviating my name. It's only two freaking syllables anyway!

rustashwolfin 10-31-2009 07:19 AM

i HATE my name and the name amanda, people call my amanda on accident all the time and i EXPLODE every time. i hate it no real reason why, i just hate it, my names amber but not for long i;m getting it changed... soon

koneko of the nekos 10-31-2009 07:31 AM

i'm legally changing mine as well. i was going to do so about 3 years ago, but some unforeseen circumstances came about and i was not able to. i plan on having it changed withing a year.

Zackarai 10-31-2009 07:48 AM

This kid in elementary school used to call me Tiff-ernie. I didn't really like it, but then again I didn't really care. It somehow evolved to Tiffer, and then Tiffa. So right now my nickname is Tiffa. Like Tiff-ah. Not Tee fah like on FF7. I hate when people say it like that. I don't even like that game. But anyway, I've been called Tiffy Too and Tiff Toe, but no one calls me that anymore. My real name is Tiffany, obviously.
I have a dog named Missy. One of her nicknames is Misser Pisser. :D

Panic 10-31-2009 07:18 PM

I don't really have a name that I hate, hate. My name is Rachel, and everyone calls me Rach. I think it sounds kinda ugly, but I don't wanna say so. :( I even get people I barely know calling me Rach.

Its not like I go up to someone and be all like, "Hey, I'm Rachel, call me Rach." yanno?

Eek, that's horrible. I hate when people try that. It's easier to just type Jen anyway.

I guess it's easier for some people? Or they want to feel more intimate with you?

chibi-sorrow 11-01-2009 02:47 AM

See, I typically don't have a problem with people calling me by my first name - though just about everyone I know calls my Chibi - so that's never been much of an issue. It's only when people call me a certain nickname that is basis of mine - my name is Kristina - that pisses me off.

Tina.

I absolutely hate that name - no offense to anyone who has it. I don't mind Kris, Krissy, Kristie, Krista, whatever else works with that. I'm even fine with Stina to a degree.

Still hate Tina.

Iggy Koopa 11-01-2009 03:36 AM

If we're having stories about nicknames, I have one to tell!

I was born under the name of James. My parents were going to call me James if I was a boy, and Chelsea if I was a girl. Anyway, my cousin Millie decided that she didn't really like the name James in particular, and that the name Jamie was a much prettier name. As soon as she saw me, she called me Jamie, and told everyone else that that was my name. All my life, I have been called Jamie, my parents, and brothers all call me that, and I'm fine with it. In fact, It wasn't until I was in year 3 that I found out that my real name even was James!

deweyduquesne 11-05-2009 06:58 AM

well, my name is collin. and i really really hate when people call me colon. I know it's dumb, but my grandmother put that second L in there just so ppl wouldnt be able to call her grandson colon. but they do it anyway.

snowmousey 11-05-2009 08:41 AM

Well in primary there was always this kid calling me "fifi" and i hated him saying it because i felt like a poodle ><"

Also, since my chinese name is "cheng zhi na" and shortened it would be "na na", some friends randomly came up with "nanagina" as a nickname Dx Terrible. Geez.

They thought I was a male named "Heath" and was almost suspended for going into the girls room. Once again, I left the name in the past, but now I have a boss at work who has a daughter whom she calls "Heath", and she just decides that it should be my name too. T_T I can't yell at her because she's psychotic, so I'm stuck now. Curse you deli!

That's my name as well. And I hate being called 'Heath'. I've also had people call me "Heathy"! That pisses me off to NO END! D<

Heather is actually a unisex name, by the way. ;)
