I'm packing some of my stuff and going through it all.
I put my tarot cards in a box and got really depressed.
It felt like I was burying someone close to me.
Naturally, I could not leave them in there.
I took them out and came here in wonderment.
What I want to know is if this has happened to anyone else?
Maybe you've experienced something else weird.
Do you have any attachments to inanimate objects?

Not as such no. I do have very strong sentimental feelings for some objects, like the crystal christening bowls or my mums wedding rings.
Stuff like that.

I'vé had a similar expirience with tarot cards, I have to keep atleast one deck close by, sometimes even taking them to work or school. Its odd but I think its just because I'm so attached to them.

Ah, yes, I've felt like that before.
You see, my best friend gave me a giant panda plushie right before she moved.
It means a lot to me, I hold it when I'm at my computer, doing homework, I even sleep with it.
I'm very attached to it.

Many people hol;d high significant value to inanimate objects.
Mind you, mine is my cell phone because it is awesome.
But still.

I always either have a panda, my tarot deck, my Elvis Presley lighter, or one of my Egyptian nick-nacks. I always have to have something sentimental near by.

i keep a heart shaped pendant around my neck since my boyfriend of 8 years gave it to me a couple years ago. never left except when he needs to work on my neck since he did take massage therapy classes. I also wear his ankh necklace that has the peace sign and the ying/yang sign on it also. other than that i sleep with my ryo-ohki plushie at night even when i am sick.

i put very much value in inanimate objects, especially stuffed animals...a few years ago my friend gave me this stuffed animal. it was the perfect stuffed animal, it was made to be a pillow, but i didnt use it as one. it was a pink elephant, with two little dots for eyes, and it was so adorable! i became attached, when one day it got a rip in its side. i tried to fix it with tape, but it kept coming off. then my dads old girlfriend found him, with the tape fallen off (again *sigh* it was pissing me off) and got rid of him. it about killed me when she made me stuff him in the trash...(yeah, i had to do it! she was a bitch, im glad he dumped her) it wouldnt be as big a deal to most, but i just loved that thing. and then the friend that gave it to me moved away at the same time i did...T.T
but there is stuff that i just have to have, i have to know exactly where it is at all times, or i'll tear my room apart searching for it (i know, it's happened before) in a panic until its found.

I don't have any attachments like that. I love my stuffed animals, but when I travel, I shove them in my suitcase XD There's not an item yet that has cause me to not be able to set it down or have to have with me always.

I have two things I am attachated to. My plushie Gaara and a stuffed dalmation puppy that I have had since I was a baby. I sometimes bring them to school with me, and carry them around in my pockets or my shirt, but there are times when I leave them on my bed and I just kinda feel bad and miss them while I'm at school ^////^

That makes sense, especially if you use them a lot, or have some kind of emotional attachment to them. Reading Tarot cards is something that involves a lot of using your own feelings and perceptiveness, so it's natural that you would form an emotional attachment to them.
I got oddly attached to the headdress I wore for my wedding.
I had it specially made, and I loved it on the day. After we got married, I didn't really have anywhere to store it, so I lay it out on a shelf, with all the ribbons and flowers kind of splaying out, under a wedding picture on the wall.
Every time I looked at it, it just made me feel happy. Sometimes I'd put it on and dance in front of the mirror, or even just do the washing up wearing it.
When we moved, I found that I couldn't put it away. It needed a shelf of its own again.
I guess it just reminds me of what a lovely day it was when we got married, and it cheers me up just to see it.

It's going to be hard for me when I move back in with my dad.
He's really religious and doesn't believe in that kind of thing.
I'll have to 'bury' my cards for a year :(

I guess one could say I'm attached to my cell phone. XD But seriously... I'd say I'm attached to my two chokers (one is a plain black chain, the other one has chains and a heart hanging from... I don't even know what, it's pretty simple though) and my ex-boyfriend's ring. Also, I'm attached to my glasses, but that's more out of necessity than anything.

I had a necklace once that I'll try to explain my attachment to. It was just some cheap, $2 necklace of a frog made of some jade-like stone. At first I thought it was cute but nothing special, just barely worth the money, but it had a super long string on it, so I wore it everyday just because it was more convenient that any other jewelry I had, plus it matched just about anything I wore.
I ended up wearing it constantly for several years, it came to the point where I felt under dressed and naked without it. On top of that, that little frog experienced everything I did, the only person who really had a first hand view of my life. Weird as it sounds, he felt more like a companion than a necklace, like a miniature guardian who was always watching over me.
Well a few years later I had a boyfriend. We had been dating for quite some time, probably 6 months or so, but we were still in the whole "I want to be around you all the time" stage. One night when I was leaving his place, I told him I wanted him to wear it while I was gone, so that a piece of me could always be with him.
AND HE LOST IT.
I didn't throw a fit about it or anything, it was a old necklace so the cord probably finally wore down and broke, but man. I still feel incredibly sad when I see that old frog in pictures.

Ouch... Doesn't it hurt to lose it because of a clumsy boys mistake??
I have a certain digimon toy that I used to play with when I was younger, and since then I've grown quite attached to it. It's like it was more of a childhood friend. I still have it in good condition and haven't even thought of putting it away.

My blanket the most. It's a beautifully woven together string blanket with a christmas pattern on it. I've had two other's like it before, and each was special to me. As time goes on, the blankets become to worn out for me to carry around so much, so I have to pack them away for safe keeping. Each time, I feel horrible. T__T
I also have attachment to stuffed animals and books I own.

When I throw out old running shoes.
Gosh, it's like losing a dear friend. I mean I spend more time with them than i do with most of my human friends.
I thought I lost my trainers once. I was almost in tears.
Left them on the track. They were still there the next morning.
I just got a pair to replace those today, actually. I've yet to throw them out despite the fact that I kept them for almost 5 months so they're completely destroyed.
