Which do you eat more, meat or vegetables?
I tend to eat more meat and pasta than I do vegetables. Though in regards to meat it's more chicken than anything else.
I know there are people out there who are strict vegetarians or vegans and then there are those who claim "they didn't make it to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables" XD

Haha, well I would like to be mostly vegetarian, but not fully because I still love meat though I don't want it to mostly consist of my diet. I would have rather eat very little meat, and stick to mostly fruits and vegetables. Mostly because I heard it's more healthy that way, but everything is good for you, but not too much of one thing. xD

The way the animals are treated before being eaten is cruel, yes, but I just loooove my meat. (didn't mean to make that sound the way that it did)
I eat pork and beef as much as possible.
I'm agnostic, but if I believed in god I'd point out that he told us to eat them. *nods*

I eat much more vegetables and fruit than anything else, just because it's so much healthier, and I strongly believe that looking after my body is my responsibility.
I do eat meat, just in moderation. Usually once a week, never more than twice.
That's one of the many reasons I hate visiting my in-laws, they just eat way too much meat and my body can't handle it. It's no wonder they talk about constipation as though it's an unavoidable fact of everyday life...

Chicken is the meat I eat most.
And, I eat mostly starches and veggies, tbh.
I mean if you really think about it, everyone eats more veggies and fruits and stuff than meat.
Like, when you pick up a bag of chips. What are those?
A candy bar?
Cereal?

haha, well if you put it that way monstahh, everyone eats a crud load of veggies. Most things these days have corn in them - corn starch, corn syrup, etc. It's no wonder so many people are getting corn allergies these days O_o

These days, I definitely eat meat more than veggies, since I have bologna sandwiches every day. Yay, cheap food! XD
But if I wasn't limited by money, I would probably still eat meat more, especially chicken. I love fruits and veggies - especially the former - but there's a reason why I used to be called the carnivore of my family.

I think I eat more vegetables than meat.. but I do have a minor rant to get out of the way -_-''' I'm sorry in advance.
**Do not read if you hate ranting. Really.
Being vegetarian is unnatural and unhealthy for humans. First of all, our digestive system can't handle a diet without meat- we have a really small digestive system (let alone internal capacity) that can't deal with it. The walls of all plant cells are made of cellulose, a form of dietary fibre. There is no enzyme in our system that will break it down more than the usual diet demands. With the cell walls intact, the nutrients in them can't be digested. Seeds, the staples such as rice, wheat, maize and beans, must be cooked before we can eat them in any quantity.
Also, About half our brain/nervous system is made of long-chain, fatty acid molecules that are also needed by our blood vessel walls. Without them we cannot develop normally. These fatty acids do not occur in plants. Herbivores convert these into intermediate, more complicated forms that we can convert into the ones that we need.
The human brain is around fifty times the size of a cow's. This requires large quantities of the right fatty acids before it could have occurred: meaning meat, which could never have occurred if our ancestors had not eaten meat. Human milk contains the fatty acids needed for large brain development. This can affect a developing child who decides to be vegetarian, but not only them: it can affect the intellectual and physical development in their grandchildren. A baby fed baby soy formula will receive through the phytoestrogens the equivalent of about five birth control pills per day. Male babies fed soy may never develop an interest in girls and their sexual and hormonal development can be altered from these products.
This is not to say that it is inherently bad (Again, I am so very sorry for this. It kinda had to get out.) since all nutrients that the body needs other than vitamin B-12 can be obtained from vegetable sources if extreme care is taken. But while this diet is made of foods which are poorer sources of nutrients, it contains high levels of fibre, phytic acid and oxalate, all of which are known to bind with the nutrients, inhibiting their absorption and also to deplete the body of the minerals it has.
** Whoof. Done.
Um, well I got that out of the way. Feel free to punch me now.

Long rant. Haha. But I really don't thing it's unhealthy to be a vegetarian, you just have to know what to eat. Plenty of plants and nuts and whatnot have fat and protein and other such needed nutritional factors that meat has. And when all else fails, these days there are pills for just about every vitamin and supplement out there.
My grandmother has been a vegetarian for decades (though she does eat fish on some occasions) and is over 70 now and perfectly healthy.
I think the main problem with most vegetarians is they don't eat properly. If you limit your diet you have to know how to substitute with other things.
You have to remember, back in the day, meat was not a common or cheap thing. So humans can live rather happy lives without it, so long as they find other ways of getting the nutrition.

I do agree, but the problem I see is that a good amount of vegetarians aren't careful enough with getting all of the nuts and those that you mentioned, or the pills are either not healthy, or not enough. Sometimes they are just right though. Your grandmother must be a very smart lady : )
I think that we should eat more vegetables than meat (although again, I'll make sure I don't go into a rant this time but eating only vegetables can cause extreme aggression towards humans if they do not get the vitamins they need) and that yes, we can live happy lives without it.. If we are smart.
