@Macabeak: I gave up on hearing aids a while ago. I've learned to lip read, so as long as I'm able to look at someone when they're speaking, I don't have a problem with understanding them.

I believe I am...
Even though I have been listening to music on speakers a lot.

I think my overall poor health is effect my ears.

Trippy_Trixx 11-08-2009 02:42 PM

I'm not they are pretty much dead anyways.
My mother damaged my ear drums when I was a child, but luckily didn't make me def, just hard of hear.
u.u
But if I was it would be because of my families loud mouths. I hardly listen to music louder then I need to.

Miechan 11-08-2009 03:05 PM

Currently..."Lollipop" by Framing Hanely, "Down" by Jay Sean, and "Touch Me" by All American Rejects are the three songs that simply blast my speakers out in my car. And I love every second of it.

My boss and I were walking out to our cars one night because I refuse to walk through a dark parking lot alone, and I got in my car and turned it on...forgetting I had forgotten to turn the volume down. Dir en grey's "Kodoku Ni Shisu, Yue Ni Kodoku," started blasting and the look on his face was priceless. XD

I listen to my iPod too much...especially to drown out family. Dx I'm gonna go deaf by the time im 20</3

pinkii 12-31-2009 10:59 PM

I listen to music almost everyday - at best with my earphones on so I wouldn't disturb anyone.
But considering how important hearing is, I may ditch the headphones.

Water Fairy Clione 01-01-2010 04:17 AM

I listen to my music pretty loud in my car when I drive, I don't do that anywhere else though, and only my parents tells me it's too loud and none of my friends ever do, but then againl they hardly ever rides with me too. ^_^

Agent HEY-LEE 01-01-2010 06:10 PM

I'll listen to my iPod pretty loud depending on where I'm at. But it doesn't really matter for me since my ears already suck. They're way too small and I always get infections of some sort. *sigh*

I don't like roller coasters. They're scary. D:
I don't l;ike having my volume on my mp3 player load. If I pull it away from me, and I can hear it, I turn it down.
The only time I turn it all the way up is when I'm mad and need to block out everything.

I've never been to a club.

Codette 01-01-2010 08:00 PM

I used to crank the music on my headphones daily... now I only use them for classes, while I'm working, So they're not that loud. I need to hear my instructor. Instead any chance I get, I go to concerts and raves! I love to dance, so I love hearing music thumping!

I also love riding fast roller coasters! I'm a girl with a need for speed.

Synthetika 01-01-2010 08:30 PM

I used to have to go to a concert once every other month O_o i stopped that it was killin me lol, and I used to listen to my music way too loud, but now I find im asking people "what?" "I didnt hear you say again?" and "huh?" alot lol I am now taking care of my eardrums because Im pretty sure all that music made me go a little deaf O_O but it doesnt help that my roomy plays his music loud enough that the whole neighborhood can hear it ~_~

kid-kokopelli 01-01-2010 08:48 PM

I can dance the night away at a club given the chance. When a really sexy song comes on with a lot of base I get moving. And I tend to crank up my car stereo when Lady Gaga comes on or Shakira or that one song I can't remember the name of...
I've only got one working eardrum anyway. So the way I see it is, enjoy the music while it lasts! Everyone's hearing deteriorates as they get older anyway. It's a natural aging process. It just goes a little bit faster with all our sound technology is all. :P

\And what's really cool for me is that since my right eardrum doesn't work, I have a hearing aid that sends sound straight to the cochlea. So even is my eardrum was destroyed, I could still hear without it. HA HA! Being slightly dissabled is kinda cool sometimes. :D

stephstar101 01-01-2010 10:16 PM

earphones most definately xD

Beetle 01-01-2010 10:31 PM

I always listen to my Ipod, I hate having the music down low. I think i'll be deaf by the time i'm an adult. >.>

stephstar101 01-01-2010 10:40 PM

Suzhi Mix 01-02-2010 01:33 AM

Claudia 01-02-2010 01:47 AM

In college, there was a party I really wanted to be at...but I ended up standing in the hallway because the music was turned up so loud. Should have gotten ear protection thinking back and then went in and enjoyed the party.

ElendarSilvermoon 01-02-2010 02:53 AM

I try to keep my music at safer levels when listening to my headphones. Being a musician, I have my headphones on a lot while I'm working on music so as to not disturb my wife when she's wanting quiet.

A general rule of thumb in mixing/mastering audio is to work at lower sound levels, so by default I tend to keep my volume at a lower setting. It helps your ears to not get so worn out after hours of listening. Though when I'm just listening to music I turn it up a bit louder, but not too much since I have a rather powerful pair of headphones.

I'm the only person i know who doesn't use a ipod of mp3. I have naturally very sensitive ears, so it doesn't take much to damage them. I have to be careful on the few visits i take to parties with loud music, because even with earplugs in i still end up with ringing ears.
That said, the odd song in the car, or on the radio, i will crank up the volume, but it's only for the duration of the song. It irks me the way people abuse their ears sometimes.

Kraetiis 01-02-2010 03:04 PM

'I only kill my ears at concerts *Ne-yo or course* and with my brother's headset. my headset doesn't get nearly as loud as my brother's!
now those are some bitches you gotta keep on low or they'll give you a headache.

Sho-Shonojo 01-02-2010 03:41 PM

When I'm wearing my headphones I can typically still hear the things around me. I don't like not being able to hear what's going on. My music can get pretty loud in the car sometimes, but those aren't headphones, so it's a little better.

I've been to a few loud concerts. I was too excited to care about my eardrums.

Angelz 01-02-2010 05:09 PM

Unless I'm at a really noisy place, my headphones are always at a decent level, just enough so that I can hear the conversations around me but not know what they're talking about. I'm not a concert person or a party person so I usually avoid them.

.KaiRozen. 01-02-2010 06:15 PM

I usually ALWAYS have music in my ears but i always have it low enough so that if someone is talking to me i can carry a conversation and not keep saying "Huh?" or "What did you say?" I enjoy music and i think that if kept at a decent level whereas it's not inferring with your life you're fine.

I've been to many concerts and tours; (warped tours 06-09, the glamour kills tour, voodoo, bamboozle etc.)
But you just get so caught up and excited that you're AT A CONCERT that you don't really mind the noise.
My eardrums have never busted, and considering i PLAY music, that's a grand thing (:

Demoncat 01-02-2010 07:22 PM

When i'm really annoyed or distracted too much I tend to turn up the volume but I usaully keep my music fairly low, like low enough to talk to people and listen to music at the same time. XD

Clarise 01-02-2010 08:10 PM

I actually hate loud noise. I always turn the volume down on my earphones to where I can just hear it. I did ruin my ears for a few years when I was in marching band in high school
