I should be doing homework.

...but I'm not.

Erailea 10-12-2009 12:23 AM

Panic 10-12-2009 12:30 AM

LOL I have similar problems. Stupid procrastination. :(

starlightbreaker 10-12-2009 12:32 AM

i should be doing homework too..........

alyakcim 10-12-2009 12:36 AM

Ah, as should I. I have about five things due soon in Creative Writing... but the only writing I've been doing at all today is on my own story that's not an assignment... hehe

makoto123 10-12-2009 01:03 AM

hey...me too ^_^; but how needs that (actually...i really should do it)

Son Zack 10-12-2009 01:04 AM

Ha, story of my life xD

I usually bring textbooks to school so I can attempt finishing up whatever work is due (or overdue!) during lunch or in other classes.

It's really dumb. I hate putting my work off and then having to freak out and stay up late to finish it but for some reason, I can't stop doing it! But I'm going to have to, it's a really bad habit.

ren55610 10-12-2009 01:23 AM

i dont have home work wooh hoo no school for me tomorrow!.

maidenroseheart 10-12-2009 01:32 AM

your so lucky not to have homework. I have midterms for the next three days and I am here instead of studying. Isn't it sad where priorities lie? Or better yet lack of self-will power?

Son Zack 10-12-2009 01:40 AM

Yeah, I don't go back to school until Wednesday and I only have one eensie-weensie assignment. Nearly all of my teachers didn't assign ANYTHING, my midterms were all on Thursday and Friday and I did my SAT test yesterday so it's smoooooth sailing for the next few days. Don't have to worry about preparing or studying for anything. Plus, I can sleep in. This weekend nearly makes the past few weeks worth it.

Ren Ayane 10-12-2009 01:40 AM

I only had one midterm and I already took it. But I still have a paper to write and a test to study for... But I just haven't felt like doing anything academic all weekend. So I haven't really. And I would always rather write about what I'm not supposed to be writing about.

ren55610 10-12-2009 01:47 AM

bleck homework stinks

Ren Ayane 10-12-2009 02:10 AM

Yes, yes it does. Hello, other Ren.

Flowery Pit 10-12-2009 02:18 AM

Yeah, I have homework due for my one art class. But it starts at 3:00PM, so I'm kinda just sitting here, doing nothing, where I could be doing the art assignments but I don't want to move.

Ren Ayane 10-12-2009 02:27 AM

Mine isn't due until Tuesday at 5:00. But I'd rather just get it over with.

Son Zack 10-12-2009 02:33 AM

Yeah, it's always best to get it done waaay ahead of time. I can't count all the times I've been up 'til midnight trying to finish the work that I could have done in a cinch the PREVIOUS FRIDAY.

mountainphoenixfeline 10-12-2009 02:42 AM

I'm so glad I'm not the only one in the world who procrastinates. I'm so ''good'' at procrastinating I can contentedly stare at a wall to avoid homework. What's bad for me is that I start thinking, "what's the point of this?", "This is stupid.", "I'll never need this.", "I already know this." and stuff like that which doesn't help motivation.

Has anyone found ways to self-motivate that consistently work for you?

Iishii 10-12-2009 02:44 AM

I should be doing some art or something more constructive then what I'm doing now... But I'm not. XD;;

*does the 'I don't go to school' dance*

Flowery Pit 10-12-2009 02:47 AM

My motivation is like treating myself. I kinda pull this "If I finish this, I can (insert whatever you like to do)" Or "If I finish this, I can just lay around on the weekend that cramming it on Sunday"

Reward motivations help me a lot. :D

Ren Ayane 10-12-2009 02:47 AM

I know! Homework sucks because you can either do it and get it all over with and acutally have time to do something afterwards (should this even be an option? I mean, how many people ever actually end up doing that?) or look at life from the short-game point of view and avoid it, distracting yourself with other things that make you feel a little better because you're not actually doing your work.

One thing that kinda works for me is to have a little distraction, but force myself to go back and do so much of my homework before I can go back to that distraction. I got through Anna Karenina by texting people and reading and replying to a text after I had read so many paragraphs.

Flowery Pit 10-12-2009 02:51 AM

Yeah little breaks help too, but sometimes it's hard to go back to do homework. That's the only bad part about breaks. It actually lift yourself from where ever and finish the homework.

Ren Ayane 10-12-2009 03:17 AM

I just don't want to do it. It's for a class I didn't choose, so I'm obvously not very interested in it. Plus, it's a class about nothing... Even the teacher doesn't know what it is supposed to be.

Nizhoni 10-12-2009 03:27 AM

hey. i hate homework as well. and i would probably get more done if you were actually doing something over there on your side of the room. but no you found this site and now i am addicted... the only thing about procrastination is not being alone in your procrastination... hey procrastination buddy. haha.

Ren Ayane 10-12-2009 03:29 AM

Haha. I know. When I hear you typing all fast, I get worried that you're actually doing something productive, but then I realize you're just replying to random posts on here. And that makes me happy. Because I'm doing absolutely nothing productive either...
