As a Halloween activity, my friends and I are going to look for vampires this weekend! I am a fan of Twilight, but I'm not obsessed. The type of vampires I'd prefer to find would be the centuries-old, aristocratic vampires that are quite beautiful, but terrifying~! Of course, they are hard to come by.

Assuming that vampires are real (many of us would like to think so), and I was looking for a vampire that lived a very long time, as opposed to a weird human with a blood fetish... Consider these questions:

-What should my friends and I do to attract them?

-Upon finding one, what should we do to make them talk rather than... "EAT AND RUN"? XD

-Have you ever had a vampire encounter? :3

Yeah, but those are Bella traits.
I'm from Arizona, too. But I have an advantage! I am more eloquent than Bella is, and much weirder. XD So I should be more interesting.
Plus, I am stubborn and will leech onto them until they get to know me enough to actually like me.
I actually saw one (I think) once. But it was through the window of a car...
So I didn't get to go pester him. Though he was scary-looking. Pretty, but scary, so I dunno how that would have turned out. ^^;

I used to like to be dark, but that was when I started high school. I grew out of it. Now I like butterflies as much as spiders, for example. I think that people are too complicated to fit into one genre. I don't think that vampires consider "hardcore" metalhead people to be their favorite meals, you know what I mean? I wear a lot of red, I'm smart, and very nice. I'm vegetarian and virginal. <.< I'm pretty sure that would be attractive to them, even if just for the fact my blood is a tad more delicious. Alas, they still never talk to me. >_<

I love vampires. I'm not really a Twilight fan though... they just seem to..perfect. Vampires are full of beautiful faults.

As for encounters... do you count the times that my boyfriend bites my neck? Or how about when I bite his ^.-

To talk to the vampires, start with a line like "Hey Tall, Dark, and Blood Thirsty, I got your order right here." ^.- *giggles*

I prefer Anne Rice vampires. <.< Or better yet, Trinity Blood vampires. I think that an ancient vampire would probably be very good for having intellectual conversations with.
...No, not unless your boyfriend was a vampire. XD Or you were a vampire.
That's an excellent vampire pick-up line. BUT I have to find one first. Which is the problem.
Because I'm pretty sure that if one cornered me, I would be like, "FINALLY!<3"
And he would be all like, "*groans* Ohhh, you're one of THOSE people."

haha, i've been in love with vampires since before Queen of the Damned came out in theaters. Lestat is my favorite vampire of all, right next to Angel.
lmao, i can see a vampire saying that
vampire: (pins girl against wall and fangs extend)
girl: "..." (pause) "EEEEIIIII!!!"
vampire: (palm-face)
by the way, anne rice rocks and so does Abel!!!! i completely forgot about Trinity Blood!

Attracting vampires, hmm fun, well try to show some exposed skin? they love to suck on blood, and it's easier for them not to have thread stuck in their teeth ;]

there is no comparison to Queen of the Damned that is a movie that in my eyes could never be topped.

I don't like Twilight and have never read the books but I saw the movie and wasn't too excited about it. I might go see the next one just to see what all the Hype is about but I doubt I will ever be a crazed fan of it.

Oh my God, are you kidding? Assuming vampires are real, I'd certainly not be trying to attract them in any way, shape, or form. Even if they were 'civilized', it's the relationship between predator and prey. Why jeopardize yourself over an obsession?

Even if they decided to play along or weren't hungry, the chances of you getting away scot free is still slim to none. They could come back for you, kill you anyway, or, as these type of things tend to do, send out radar for other nasty shit to find you. Because just like learning a new word, once you learn it, you will see it everywhere.

Then again, that's assuming they're real. I don't know if they're real or not... I'm skeptical, but you never know, I guess. Don't take what I said too personally, since, like the first post basically asked of me, assume this is a possible situation. Enjoy your Halloween night, and ignore my paranoid ramblings. XD

Ahh yes, and also on the subject of trying to get a vampire to like you- I actually wouldn't bother. I doubt you could seem like a beautiful and unique snowflake to someone that's possibly hundreds of years old and is living in the age of the Twitard.

And as for my favorite vampires? Constantine from Sunshine by Robin McKinley, Barlow from Steven King's 'salem's Lot, and Carmilla from Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla.

@ Cbr: Yeah, I always thoguht they were fascinating. I mean, they are sort of wild and hard to pin down. But at the same time, they've got this agelessness... Like a mix between a monster and a scholar. Their experiences have made them extremely intelligent. So I'm pretty sure that the vampire would gawk at me if I was like, "OMG, PERFECT DEATH EVER!"

@ Twisted: Yeah, I was planning on wearing at least one item of red, if not all (since I typically wear red a lot anyways, as it is my favorite color... Not to mention I dyed my hair red... 0_0;), and then expose my neck and a just a tiny glimpse of my cleavage. Otherwise, I was going to wear something very modest and virginal. (Because they love virgins, apparently, which I am.)

@ Rae: I am in agreement with you. I do like Twilight to an extent, but I prefer the Volturi characters in it, if any. They are closer to my "type" of vampire. But aside from that, I still prefer the gentlemanly aristocratic ones. (See Jack McGraven, Mene's resident vampire.) That pretty much sums up my taste.

@ Merrow: I've considered all of these things. But I decided that life was too short to care so much about the danger involved. I am actually studying to be a volcanologist. In comparison to active volcanoes, which I will be around a lot once I graduate, vampires are decidedly not very lethal. Besides, if they did want to kill me, I could always ask them to take my virginity before they died. Which vampires are always up for (the sex gods they are), because they usually get to feed off the woman simultaneously. I'm sure you know all about that. So at least I could enjoy myself before they drained me of my blood.

Not to mention, even if a vampire was hundreds of years old, there are still gems in the human race. Sometimes they will run into a human that they cannot understand or who throws them off. >;D I'm pretty confident in my own uniqueness. For one, I don't want them as a boyfriend. I have a boyfriend. A human one. I simply want to have an intellectual conversation with one! That will throw them off already as is!

I'm sorry, but you are saying that a volcano is more lethal than a Vampire? You might have a problem with your danger response system. A volcano can seem unpredictable, but it's very rare with the knowledge and technology now a days that people are caught off guard by them. But there is no knowledge of how a Vampire truly is and will behave, and no way to gauge it.

As for the sex thing, Vampires see you as food. Prey. There are plenty of Vampiresses and Vampires to do that with. Plus, untainted virgin blood is the sweetest, didn't you know? If you want to have a conversation with one, don't be a pretty little thing with a long neck and bare skin. You need a huge amount of knowledge and intellect that could impress them and intrigue them, so good luck getting that much before you expire.

If you want to be turned, it's just getting lucky. Each Vampire has his or her own reasons and things they look for in a human to turn.

The end story is: You are Prey. Weak, boring and tasty.

Sorry if I sound like a ba****d but it's the truth.

I agree with Kage, we'd just be food, and though some may like to "play" with their food, like amuse themselves and such, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't just as soon kill you after whatever it was they did.

Kage seems to make the most sense. Even though it would be the coolest death ever is it worth dieing for? I don't think my life is worth so little for one encounter with just one, see this is what you do. You go to the nearest big city ie: Chicago, New York, St. Louis. and find a goth club. that is a good place to start. start up conversation with someone you might think is a vampire. What ever you do don't go anywhere alone with said person/vampire and don't mention Twilight. I like the books and all but you have to see it from the vampire's POV. It's a disgrace to the vampire race. But try public settings to try and find your tall, dark, and bloody. I just don't want anyone dying! Be safe!!!

@ Kage: Actually, the fact that the media doesn't grant volcanoes much attention causes people to incorrectly assume that nothing is going on with them. The truth is that there any dozen of volcanoes on earth erupting at this instant, albeit minorly. In fact, small vent eruptions occur very frequently, quickly, and unpredictably, which puts the people who work with them at a high risk. Volcanologists are on the top ten dangerous jobs listed for scientific professions right now. Geologists in general get injured quite a lot. I know a volcanologist who had lava splash up into his face when he was walking around Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. He instinctively stepped backwards to avoid the lava, but fell down and sliced open his arms on volcanic glass. And if you know anything about volcanic glass, it is really sharp. Surgeons often use knives made from obsidian because there is nothing else on earth that you can make into a fine enough point.

I would also like to point out that it's highly unlikely that vampires go around killing people all that frequently, otherwise the media would be all over it. Either they are very discreet about it, or they simply prey on people too intoxicated to remember. If we also base facts on the folklore, vampires are able to charm their victims so they can be fed on and not remember anything but the foggiest details afterwards. They might not even use their fangs a lot of the time, simply something sharp to draw the blood to feed. Fang marks would be too obvious, unless they were in an unmentionable spot. If a human was found dead, an autopsy would be able to discover these fang marks regardless. Also, a living human is worth more to them than a dead human, because dead humans do not produce more blood. So they might tend to us like they would dairy cows. Drink some when they need it, but keep us alive, if only to use us for sustenance.

@ Shadow: Simply read what I wrote above in the second paragraph.

@ Lune: The coolest death ever is actually to die in a pyroclastic flow. But that's probably just my opinion. XD And the closest big city to me is Phoenix, because I am poor and cannot afford to go anywhere else. I wouldn't go with him anywhere alone, vampire or not, because human men are just as potentially dangerous as vampires. Rapists? No thank you.

How to attract the vampires: Dress classy. No vampire wants to suck the blood of a nasty trollop. :P

To avoid eat n' runs: Bring some garlic butter along and rub it all over your neck when he arrives?

Vampire encounter: Can't say I have. :<

@ Raishin: That is precisely why I wanted to dress mostly virginal and modest. XD But in nice clothes. I also hear that eating curry makes your blood not sweet, so maybe I'll eat something spicy beforehand. >;D And chew some gum so no one else notices I did. No encounters? Awww...

Actually YES I've met a vampire... He lived in san fran... he bleached his skin white, dyed his hair black, had red eye contacts, wore ONLY black leather and filed his teeth into sharp points... I was like walking home from a gay club and he totally jumped me and bit my neck... it felt more like he was play-biting though n I just giggled and was like "GET OFF ME GAYBOY!" He was like "Why aren't you affected by my hypnotism?" I was like "Cuz I'm NOT human, stupid boy...*evil grin*" He was like "WHUT??? D:<" and than he got creeped out and ran away// I walked home, laughing like a madman the entire way! hehehe, Its still a good story to tell my friends... but now my friends are like "HOLY CRAP! Vampires are scared of you???" lol// yep, I'm a scary person.... true story.

XD Well, if it was one of those people that THINKS they are a vampire, it prolly doesn't count. Considering he's probably delusional. I don't like those weirdo Goth people that want to pretend they are cooler than they actually are.

But it's still a hilarious story! Especially if your reaction to his jumping you really threw him off. XDD
