@ Tsukipon: Everything can be broken down to the individual, doing that to everything is overkill for the brain. It's a natural function to break things down into larger categories. It's the brain's way of making things more efficient. Greedy wasn't meaning to be unfair to us as women. He's just wanting what insight he can glean from us and hopes to better handle the situation he's in.
To the large majority of men I know, women in general are very confusing. For whatever reason, whether they're more analytical and we're more instinctual or whatever, it's difficult to grasp the other gender's thought processes... they're just different.
Example: When a man says "I have nothing to wear" it means all his clothes (or clothes for whatever occasion it is) are dirty.
When a woman says "I have nothing to wear" it means she has nothing she wants to wear (or nothing new).
@ Greedy: What I've noticed with people who act like your ex, male and female alike, is that they really don't know what they want. For whatever reason they've yet to discover enough about themselves to understand that base desire that nags at them. Don't worry about your ex, she'll figure out what she wants eventually *crosses fingers*.
I find women confusing too. Myself included. I've only met one man who confounded me constantly, and he ended up being gay. *shrugs* People will confuse you less the more you get to know them.

I suppose, though it doesn't apply to all women and men. And I understand that we as human beings always break things down to gender, race, etc because that makes things easier. I wasn't trying to Greedy. Sorry if it seemed that way.

As a woman, I expect things that don't make logical sense. It's just how it is.

I apologize too. I was probably a little blinded by the debates I've been a part of in the past and assumed that you were being confrontational. Thanks for not getting pissed at me and taking what I said with a grain of salt. You've got a really good character.

Although I'm a girl, I prefer hanging out with guys. I think girls are much more confusing than dudes. Plus boys do things that are more fun, like video games and drinking too much soda :)

i can actually understand how a girl would be complicated and confusing in a realtionship, especially to a guy who usually wouldnt have as much experience with girls personalities, like in depth. but guys can be pretty confusing too, u guys may think ur straight forward but not necessarily, especially ur reasoning which can make no sense. guys can make decisions too quickly sometimes without thinking it over and thats y ur not necessarily as "complicated" but usually end up being considered "dumb" (lol im not saying i think guys are dumb but alot of girls think that way... and i mite too but its a mystery :P)
oh some guys are complicated just like girls tho, my ex for example -_-"

Thats how we work. We keep you guessing just to drive you insane.
Of course I think guys are just as confusing. I have a hard time finding any honest guys.

It depends on the guy, and it depends on the girl. Me and my bf have wordless conversations for hours with no confusion. The only thing about me that confuses him is how I'm (apparently) to adorably cute. *eye roll* But I love him. And I don't understand half of what he says when he starts speaking gamer, but thats just who we are.

Girls are confusing because all human beings are confusing. We're complex.
You just think girls are confusing because you're making more of an effort to try to understand them, and relationships make everything more complicated.

I don't think we are confusing. I think guys are confusing, I know this can only be argued so many ways but take this for example.
Me and my guy go to a movie. He gets the popcorn and pop and I get a cotton candy, I offer him some throughout the movie and about the third time he gets mad and says he doesn't like the stuff.
So I have some left when we get home, its been a few hours and its sitting on the table in its little bag. He then grabs the bag and eats what is left. Im like, wtf?? And he does that to everything, not just my cotton candy.

I agree with Doomfishy. I always hate to overgeneralize, but all people, I think, are a confusing lot. We tend to understand the base desires that are the foundation of human emotion, for most of us anyway. The need for health and safety. The need for love. The need for happiness. These are things that many of us share, so they're easily understood.
But these needs, I think, are only vessels. They're larger compartments for smaller, more complex emotions. The little motivations, the secret desires. The numerous intricacies that build the individual. We can only sit in our own head. As much as you are taught, as much as you learn, as much as you get to know other people, I don't think you can truly know the inner workings of them.
We can see those larger compartments, but understanding what's inside can be a mystery.
