Did anyone else hear about the meteor shower?

There was supposed to be one today at around 1a.m, but I think you would've been able to see it at 6a.m too.

I missed it, but I wanted to see it sooo badly. It was the remains of Hailley's comet.
Maybe you wouldn't be able to see it everywhere, but I thought you would be. D<

Forks:
Did you see the meteor shower?

Thoth Star 10-21-2009 08:14 PM

I DID! On CBS. 8) I'm OBSESSED with meteor showers, so I made my friend (jer) and I go around looking for it! we went all over, climbing mtns... NO METEOR SHOWER!!! I was soo disappointed. And fog everywhere... but I saw something that made me want to... uhh, cry in fear. </33

...people in black robes worshiping Satan. My friend wanted to say "Hi!" I was like "Are you JOKING? They'll KILL US! Outsiders are NOT welcome!!" And I made him run with me back to the car... I got a bad vibe from them... And I kinda... umm HATE Satanists. They're assholes...

Greedy 10-21-2009 08:55 PM

depends on what you consider a satanist.... o.o most satanic cults are actually nothing but rituals and the worship of ones self....
or so my friend tells me. i wouldnt know. satanism and mormanism differ.... a lot...

@Thoth:
lol. CBS.
I hope it's on Youtube.

I wanted to see it so bad.
D:

@Greedy:
Yea, I heard they worship themselves too. But:
:offtopic:

I didn't hear about it. Though I doubt I would have been able to see it, can rarely even see the stars now.

There are different types of Satanists, ones who worship Satan, though I don't know if it's the Christian Satan or a different Satan because they don't have to mean the same and ones who worship themselves. I think the ones that worship themselves are the more common, though not sure.

Yeah i know what you mean. they are hard to see in the states near cities. but When i was little i did see hailys comet. that was pretty cool. and when i was deployed to Iraq and i worked nights i saw them all most every night. because there wasn't many lights. It was beautiful. One night i saw an eclipse. The moon turned purple. it was crazy and beautiful. I love the night sky. But supposedly if you live in the night too much you go crazy. I think its from lack of sun. not to sure if its true though.

Me neither.
I wanted to see this since it was going to be a series of shooting stars.

Infinitys Echo 10-22-2009 07:14 AM

Yes, I meant to get up really early and see it, but forgot about it. Oh, well, I'll catch the next one, which I believe is the Leonids next month.

Do you know what time it will be and everything?
Cuz I really wanna see one.

Stardragon 10-22-2009 07:56 PM

I wanted to see it but missed it due to clouds and getting up to late. They are called the Orionids and Halley's Comet is due back around 2061.

Laila Izuka 10-22-2009 11:27 PM

I was gonna see it. But I was too tired that night to stay up and watch it D:, but I did see that last meteor shower a couple months ago :3, and I've seen some other ones over the years too. I'm just grateful that I live in a really rural area, so you can see the stars clearly.

lightkanna 10-22-2009 11:29 PM

No, I didn't hear anything about a Meteor Shower. I wish I saw one...I guess I can once I grow older and know about this stuff if I am ever updated. :) I wish I had some freedom. XD

Ebony Mist 10-22-2009 11:33 PM

kitsuemi 10-23-2009 12:53 AM

I just checked for the peak date for the Leonids and it's suppose to be November 17th. Usually, peak hours are in the middle of the night, but I won't swear to that being the case with this one. It's suppose to be a new moon so that's good-no moon showing makes it easier to see the meteors.

Moogle 10-23-2009 10:38 AM

Ooh, that's on my boyfriend's birthday.

But of course, I won't actually be with him to see it together. So that will suck.
It's all goodies though.

Well, maybe you could try watching on either the night before or after the peak day. You may not see as many, but it could still be fun-and romantic, too, if you think about it :)!

Moogle 10-23-2009 02:36 PM

Well, it's not that I can't see it on that day.
It's the fact that his mom doesn't let him out the house for anything.
