Alright, so I am 15 years old, going to a lame highschool, love animals, astronomy, drawing, the whole deal.

Well, I was arguing with my [lame] dad earlier about getting my lip peirced, and he said no cos

1) "It'll look bad on you"
2) "You won't be able to get a good job"

When I asked why

"Because people don't like that."

Seriously, does ONE lip peircing affect what type of job I get? It's not like I'm going to be a nurse or lawyer [not smart enough for that lol].

I was actually planning on working at the Humane Society for my first job, and I don't think they'd care, right?

Lip peircings grow over, I'm pretty sure. o__o If you want a more professional job.. just don't put it in anymore..

Besides, they'll just ask you to put a transparent ring in or just leave it out at work. It's not like you'll have a gaping hole in your face.

Lol, I don't have it peirced right now, but I want it peirced.

Just get it pierced. Make sure you do some research into it first, I know lots of people who got lots of different piercings that they had to get over because it was used with a gun or vice verca.

Lol, yeah but he doesn't freak the hell out at every little mistake you do in life... but hey, shit happens lol. But I'll more or less get it peirced for sure.

It will effect the jobs you get. I've had lots of piercings, but have had to take a lot of them out for jobs... If you really want a piercing, ask if you can go for a belly button, nose (tho you might have to get a clear stud for work) or a cool ear piercing.

I just want it peirced, lol. That's not bad is it? Well, and cos I chew on my lip a lot too, so I'd rather chew on a ring than tearing up my lip lol.

And it'll only be one peircing and I can't see how it'll affect it. I don't even have my ears peirced [anymore, cos they got really infected]. But I hate anyother peircings [except the ear]. And I have a mole type thing on my nose [a little above where it'd usually be peirced] so I'm not attracting that lol.

piercing kind of look a little bit gangster to me it'll be little bit hard to find a job and your teeth will have a hole because when your teeth bite onto your piercing for a long time it will make your teeth have a hole

Well, I am anything BUT gangster, lol. And also the fact that I wear my make up 'like an emo' and I dress 'like an emo' and I am classifyed as 'an emo', so that will probably affect it too because EVERYONE hates 'emo' people, right? Ehhhh, I probably should've just NOT posted this, lol.

firstly stereo types are lame otherwise i to would be viewed as emo, know what its like being the one guy in your school wearing eyeliner? yeah the girls even wanted to beat me up ... highschool was umm fun? sure lets stick with that

And sorry, but guys wearing eyeliner is hot, lol [and uber brave cos of what people would say]. If I had a guy friend who wore eyeliner and got made fun of, I would kick every persons ass for doin so, hahaa.

I've had a tattoo for awhile. I have a job working at a law-firm, and my boss wouldn't like it if any visible tattoos or piercings show. I make a good wage, almost twice as much as a McDonald's employee. ((I'm 18.)) My boss said he would never hire anyone with a visable peircing or tattoo.
Then again, that's just him.

I want to get snakebites and i'm having the same problem. I'm just going to wait until I get a good job, ((i'm hoping hot topic or zumies)) and if i don't get a job that allows it. I'll just have to get my snakebites another time. XD

and as for it being hot that i wear eye liner or guys in general wearing it anyways... umm yeah, wahoo me? lol ironically i was also the only gay guy in my school, spent alot of time in my locker, and sadly i do not mean looking for things, though that would have been nice.
and well my best friend /body guard has always had my back well tried, woulda been nice if he had the build he has now back in high school, i'd love to have seen people mess with him then >_> he'd destroy them all!
but random fact, if people treat you differently they're judgemental idiots and not worth your time anyway darling so ignore them

my boss thinks my tattoos are cool just not appropriate for the work place so hes content that they're easily hidden under my uniform. like he knows its my body and won't look at me different because i'm peirced or inked but appreciates that i do so with discretion

if you do make sure the policy there allows it, otherwise you can be fired for breaking dress code if informed before hand that its against policy, where i work we're allowed 3 facial piercings as long as they are plain silver studs, doesn't matter what 3 just 3 facial peircings period

Lip and nose piercing freaks me out. It must hurt a lot.

Some employers don't mind. Some won't hire you because of it, even if they won't articulate that the piercing was the reason. Some would require that you wear a clear plug rather than a ring.

i have snake bites and my tongue done, the tongue hurt more, the snake bites i was so psyched for i didn't feel it, but my friend who was with me she went pale and almost passed out, and all she did was watch. peculiar little one that girl

i know its rare for employers to not mind what with the need of professional outlook and business and such, but its the new millenia, get with it people, individuality is all we have now with a ban on almost everything ... so much for freedom of expression

@JFKaito - Work sucks. It has nothing to do with freedom in general, much less freedom of expression. Nobody's gonna pay you an hourly wage to be your own man. That's just the way it is.

i wanted a lip piercing for a while... but my parents would kill me...but its really not a big deal and maybe you should wait until you dont have to rely on your parents so much and get a good job before piercing your lip

#1 YES IT WILL EFFECT YOUR JOB.

I had my eyebrow pierced and i got fired for it.

#2 lip piercings aren't that attractive, they get in the way, and you have to take them out like all the time. kind of like a retainer.

i would say no, and go with getting your belly button pierced! haha

T_T lip peircings don't get in the way... unless your kissing someone who also has a ring in and not a stud and the rings get stuck because you stupidly lost the ball for yours... its only a little tug and can be kinda of funny really >_> at least to on lookers... nothing says sexy like getting stuck while kissing... T_T

I know people who work at grocery stores that aren't allowed to wear piercings besides in the ears. Your father's probably right, if you want me to be honest. I can't say it'd look bad on you or anything, but most places don't allow piercings like that. He probably just wants you to get a good job, I guess he's just worrying about your future. Lulz.

YOU CAN STILL GET A GOOD JOB WITH PEIRCINGS...T_T FAIL SAUCE
