Animals You Have Connections With
Anyone out there feel they have a powerful connection with a type of animal? If so, tell me.
I myself feel I can relate to foxes. We're both oppurtunists, have reddish hair, fast and sly. Sometimes I feel I might have been a fox in a past life or something. |
I'm definitely cat-like. I associate most with feral cats and ocelots. Foxes are like a half-sibling or cousin to me.

Well, I don't know if it's cats in general or I just happen to really connect with my cat Leonardo. My friends always laugh saying that my cat is just like me - arrogant but at the same time when we want love & attention, we'll go hunt it down. (I don't sleep on top of people though, lol, or claw them while I sleep.) I guess it's because I raised him when he was really young and sickly - my parents actually thought he was going to die but he managed to pull through.
I'm away at college now so it's been awhile since I've seen my kitty. However, my mom says when we'll talk on the phone he'll start rubbing her legs - something he does not usually do. Right now I volunteer at a cat rescue because I love cats - I'm actually going to be greeting the public on Halloween... haven't decided what costume to wear yet. |

i have a small dog that's my daytime play pal guy my cat minds his own business most of the day but insists on sleeping with me. he was SO mad when i brought a dog home, he wouldn't sleep with me for 3 days. i also happen to have 4 pet rats. (midnight snack perhaps? lmao. jk.) |
Haha, my oldest cat Ickerus HATED when we brought our dog, Jake, home. Jake's a Jack Rusell Terrier mix and yes, he's very hyper and annoying. He can jump so high though. Anyway, Icky hates him so much but it's only because he's curious and just wants to smell her. Jake really likes cats.
When we brought Leo home, Icky just didn't care anymore. However, Jake bonded with Leo and they act like brothers. They'll chase each other around the house, sleep together, and even playfully wrestle each other in the morning. They're so funny. This year we brought home out thrid cat, Lex - it took a really long time for Jake and Leo to like him but now they'll include him in their games. Lex has issues with Icky though and tries to chase her which he gets yelled at for. Even though Lex is a cat, I say that little kitty has a bond with water, lol. He actually sticks his head in the kitchen sink when the water is running and starts swatting at it. He really likes playing with water. |
I feel like I can relate to cats. I have been told by a spiritual leader person that I'm a fox though. I like foxes, but I like cats better. I think they're cuter. Then again, when I imagine myself, I do picture having fox ears and a fox tail..and long pale pink hair thats in a braid...I still have green eyes though XD I'm strange I know.

I guess I have a connection with wolves and eagles. I love depictions of wolves and eagles especially when used in native american works. My grandpa is half indian I believe and me and two relatives I grew up with used to run in the woods a lot and talk about spirit animals. I think I chose and eagle back then but I've grown to like wolves as well.

I've heard about the peyote rituals to discover your spirit animal. I'm have curious about finding someone that can help me do it and avoiding that drug altogether. lmao.

Hm.... any animals I have a connection with? That would be a lot... but mostly ravens and wolves. I know it might seem a little steriotypical but it's true. Just the other day I had a conversation with a raven... and when I see a wolf... I dont know.... I just feel im part of them....

Dogs. I'm very friendly, and I'd protect my friends if I saw they were in danger. I can sense when something's wrong, and most of the time, I can make them feel better. Plus, I get along with any dog I meet, but that's probably because I can tell which ones I can trust and which ones not to trust. >> For instance, my [former] friend has a HUGE Rottweiler, and I've known him since he was a pup. One night, he paid a visit with his dog while my mom was home, and he growled when I pet him [which he usually does when you pet or play with him]. And my mom was like, 'UH UNH. LEAVE HIM ALONE. HE'S GONNA RAGE." :roll: I told her that he wasn't, but she was still all paranoid. |
Im the same.... I start up conversations with dogs in the neighborhood and I know when something is ascew.... And I know when deer are around =D and squirrels... hence my signature ^_^

I connect a lot to cats. More wild cats than domesticated ones, however, because I hate being around people and am generally a quiet, reserved person. But I love to be loved and gentle affection is much appreciated by myself. (I loooooove hugs and cuddling <3)
I myself have one cat, our oldest having died not long ago. I have had Smoky for over 10 years now, and we have a really deep bond. For old times' sake I sometimes carry him around like I did when I was very young, around his chest with the rest of his body just hanging. |
Aw.... that sounds cute =3 Even though I connect with wolves and ravens me and my cat have a tradition that when Im falling asleep she has to be curled next to my head. I'll usually put my nose in her fur and fall asleep to her purring :heart:

that's an interesting question. i don't know...i guess cats would be it. although i'm not sure if it's a connection exactly. i just noticed that i have a few qualities. i also love wolves and tigers.

Dogs for sure. Every dog I have ever owned or a friend of mine has owned, just has instantly fallen in love with me and me with them ;)

I think I have a connection with dogs. Most of my pets have been dogs. My dog Missy has been with me since I was a child, now I'm 21. But I love all dogs, I don't think any of them are ugly. I'm not afraid of them, usually. They're so cute, sometimes when I see some on tv it makes me wanna cry. I don't know why, haha. I think I might have been a dog in a past life.

It's a hard decision. Pet-wise, most all cats love me and I find them to be very cuddly. My beautiful black cat Jade is laying on my legs right now and she's mean and bites everyone besides me. I taught her to give kisses. :3 Zoo-wise animals would have to be the polar bears and seals. I get hypnotized watching them. But my favorite animal is the owl. Nocturnal, beautiful, and are able to fly. The fact that they regurgitate mouse skeletons is interesting too. I remember being at a park and a small gray owl flew down right next to me. Kay, it was ten feet away, but that's still pretty close. It was the first time I had seen an owl in real life and I got so excited! I tried to pick it up, haha, and it flew into a tree and was watching my friends and I for a while until we left. And I always dream of white wolves. Never any other color of wolves. But white. And these wolves are weird, like, they're very thing ones and usually attack me in my dreams, but then we become friends after wards. It's strange. Like this one time I dreampt that I was in the woods and came upon this house where a woman and her child lived and a wolf had tried to rip out the child's throat, so I went into the front yard when the two white wolves came and they tried to attack me. I beat them in the fight and then they turned into like... white-haired rock stars wearing David Bowie the Goblin King style clothing and we became friends. The other time I dreampt that I was in the body, or looking through the eyes of a man when him and his family went to Germany and he was walking over this field and then it caved in and a white wolf was hiding it attacked him and he killed the wolf and even though it felt like I was him, I was truly sad that the wolf had died. Anyways... So, I'm not sure. |
Hm.... I wonder why it all seems to be canines or felines.... Most likely because these are the most common animal in most lives... Is there anyone who doesn't connect with either of the two and has a connection with something else? A bear or a deer for instance... Anyone who has something other than canine or feline?

I think it may have something to do with the nature of cats and dogs too. They hit me as very social creatures so I think people can relate to them easily. Like when people see their pets as part of the family. We personify cats and dogs and give them human qualities. So its easy to see why people would more easily see themselves in a cat or dog then another kind of animal.
Foxes seem to popular too but I don't have an explanation for that other than that they are cool. |
Wolves. I've always been very fond of them and I consider them my favorite animal, but I went through a really bad time when my sister got cancer. Got very depressed and kind boxed myself in, watching anime and Animal Planet pretty much all the time since none of my friends wanted to talk to me.
I started to notice that I treated people around me with a pack mentality. If they were part of my pack, they could get away with murder. If they weren't, I was very hostile with them until I'd figured out of they were more of an alpha then me. If they were, I was submissive. If they weren't, I be a bitch to them until they yielded to me. I find a lot of traits in wolves that I admire and strive to...Plus their pretty. I like dogs because they remind me of wolves. Dogs are wolves that will want me to be their alpha. |
Hmm... I don't really feel any kind of special connection to any animal, but if I had to choose, it would probably be bunnies.

Last time I saw my cat, he was more fat then anything else. My mom tells me that he's bone thin these days. Mom flew out west to see me and we went to Alaska on vacation. She paid the neighbor to feed out kitty, Carson, but the brat never bothered to show. He figured that as long as he stopped by the last two days of the week and a half, no one would notice.
Mom did. She was pissed. Once I heard, I was pissed. He might live 3000 miles away, but that's still my baby. Mom made him give the money back and his mom grounded him, but he starved my Carson. I want mom to mail me one of his hands or his skin. Loyalty. It's a wolf trait. He's a kitty, but Carson is my pack. |
Oh man.....I'm another cat person. I love the sleeping in the sun, my hair played with.
I love food and tend to be annoyed by dogs. |
