haha my favorite part of christmas is just the atmosphere in general. i love being with my family, having a nice sized meal, the drinking, the gifts that are exchanged, but mostly just seeing family that u haven't seen since last christmas lol

this year, im not really sure. whatever i get is great, cuz what i wanted most for christmas was just to have some1 to share it with. and i do. so everything else is just icing on the cake really.

We celebrate Christmas. I usually go to the Christmas Eve service at my church. The thing I love the most is spending time with my mom and brother. All I want for Christmas is for my brother to be safe when he is deployed next year.

I enjoy the lead-up to Christmas much more than I enjoy Christmas day itself.

I work in retail and have for a long time, and I do hate the way some people get during the holiday season, but I try to keep that separate from my personal feelings towards the holiday...Christmas never asked people to get rabid when toys go buy one get one.

It can make me a little depressed though, usually when I can't afford to get everyone what they really want. I have no idea what I want for myself, if anything. The only real person who'd probably give me something has been jobless for almost a year. I don't mind not getting stuff though, I usually have more fun watching people's reaction to whatever I get them.

What I want? Well, I want a new mouse, monitor, tamagotchi, and etc. It's weird but I know I won't get any of that. I have a tamagotchi but I need new batteries for it. It totally died out. </3 Hm...My parents will celebrate it but it depends on the money budget we have and we don't have that much. So every year my mom waits for the letter that my little sister will get at school and we just ask what we want there. I don't know if they would buy me a tamagotchi but I would love it if they did. My sister says I am weird because I ask for a tamagotchi and she thinks it is for little kids. Uh, no...little kids can't even handle the control! But whatever...I love it and she is just jealous.

I am so excited for Christmas this year! It's my daughter's first Christmas *pokes sig* so it's extra special.

I love everything about it, not just presents on Christmas morning, but the whole festive season.
Counting down the days, picking out the perfect presents, getting Christmas cards in the post, drinking mulled wine, getting together with all my huge family that I haven't seen since last year, bus drivers wearing Santa hats, singing Christmas songs while making Christmas dinner, watching Muppets Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve...

The thing I look forward to the most? Hm that's a hard question, I love Christmas in itself... so christmas evening I guess ^^' I love all the traditions more or less equal you see....

And what I want for christmas? Clothes.... and an iPod and a digital camera...... and books too ^^ especially books on how to play violin

:squee: Yay!
Christmas!
For me, it's more about the nostalgia than anything else.
But do I ever love it. <3
I've already started playing my Charlie Brown Christmas music and e-mailing Santa (he e-mailed me back.)
Christmas lights are beautiful. Sledding and skating are so fun. Eggnog and hot chocolate are tasty. And the smells of Christmas baking are so pleasing.

This will be my favourite thread for the next while!
:D

I love Christmas~ It's so fun to put up the lights and tree~ >8D
The only thing I don't like about Christmas is the stupid Santa thing.. It's really creepy that they actually tell the kids that he watches you when you sleep, and knows everything bad or good that you've done. It's not only creepy, but it's weird how they make Santa out to be a 'god'.. But enough of that.. I just don't bother with the whole Santa thing. xU;;

I got a violin for my birthday, and a tablet just recently.. So I'm not really sure what I want for Christmas... o-o; I mostly just want drawing books/supplies and cross stitching supplies. Oh, and I've always wanted the 20-Q game! It's so fun~ o3o -lol is being like a little kid-

I'd like to get other people things-, but I'm still (kind of) at the age where it won't hurt or kill anybody if I don't get them anything. Plus I need a job to get money, first, if I get presents for others. xD; I'd make my family something, like a cool craft or picture, but I hate doing crafts and giving people things that are just going to be thrown out to the side because of how unimportant it is. It feels like I wasted my time making it, then. >3<;;

I do have my own tradition, though, of getting my grandfather a nutcracker every year. So far I've been doing it for 3 or 4 years, and this year I got him a statue-like nutcracker, since I haven't done that yet. They sure can get expensive, though! Like the one I got this year cost $10, and it's just a tiny thing. Oh well. lol.

Road Rage grows and people get hurt. I hate the cold too.

We don't celebrate Christmas in our household, we dont decorate, tell our children lies about Santa Claus and reindeers. No christmas trees or holiday songs.

We do get our children presents; but we don't make a big deal about the whole thing.

I wonder who would really cry if Christmas didn't come this year, the children or the stores?

Honestly, I hate to sound cynical, but I agree with everything you said. I really could care less about Christmas. I think it's just another commercial holiday and full of religious hupla bullcrap. Christmas was fun as a child, but as an adult, it sucks. It's just another holiday I have go out and buy stuff for my nieces and nephews when we already spoil them well during the rest of the year.

I love Christmas.
Not from a religous stand point and not from a "I want more presents" view either.
I love Christmas because it is the one time a year when my family is all together. No matter where we live on Christmas we all find a way to be together at my Grandmother's house for the holiday. Those that can't come (can't afford plane tickets or such) we spend hours talking on the phone together (The phone gets passed to the different relatives at my grandmas).
My family is big on presents, but not in the way of I have to have the biggest and best. My family is really into the whole giving gifts more than recieving. No one (except the youngest children-under 10) really expects to get anything.
We have a big dinner around 2pm and then most of us (the older aunts and uncles and grandparents stay home) head out to the local soup kitchen to help out for a few hours serving those less fortunate a christmas dinner. It works out well because my dad will dress up as Santa and we bring things that they can use, such as blankets or pillows, we bring clothes for the younger children and some books and toys and most are extremely thankful.
I think that Christmas is what you make it and if you give into the whole commericalism then Christmas will be horrible, and I can say the same for if you give into the religious point of it too. But I think that everyone can make Christmas enjoyable.

i love Christmas. i can't wait to decorate for it this year. i know we can't afford to buy much this year, but that's not the point of Christmas. i know it's nice to get new stuff, but i can live without.
