Christmas!

I hate Christmas..but I come from the standpoint of retail and public service. Christmas brings out the worst in people when you mix them with retail. They become selfish and angry, espcially when they are trying to purchase something that there is a limited quanity and five to ten other people are trying to buy the same thing. Road Rage grows and people get hurt. I hate the cold too.
We don't celebrate Christmas in our household, we dont decorate, tell our children lies about Santa Claus and reindeers. No christmas trees or holiday songs. We do get our children presents; but we don't make a big deal about the whole thing. I wonder who would really cry if Christmas didn't come this year, the children or the stores? |
I love Christmas! I love decorating, and singing, and the warmth of looking at a colorful Christmas tree in the morning. :) My family listens to old chirstmas songs, and we look at all the decorations that we forgot we had!
I suck at thinking about what I want. :( |
My favorite part is getting presents. xD
Cause I'm a greedy spoiled bastard. <3 Although I like giving presents too. I like seeing people happy because I give them things. |
lol
I am such a scrooge |
my best friend mom home made candy
|
I love it when it snows during Christmas it makes things really beautiful, or when tree branches are coated in ice. I especially love the time off from school and time to spend with my family. We're one of the weird ones that opens gifts Christmas eve. I like cooking for the family and making a special dinner. I don't necessarily want gifts this year, I'd rather give gifts than receive, but for my Christmas gift I want my fiance to visit.

I like christmas. Lol.
Its the one time a year when my parents and sister(s) make special candy and food. Not only, its fun to watch my neice's and nephew's eyes light up when they see what we got for them for christmas. Not only receiving aswell... *Is greedy, I know* Yes, we do Santa, but we know he isn't real, its just for fun, and its a tradition... Where I live theres usually several inches of snow my Christmas... and it doesn't leave til late March, or sometime in April. XD But, overall, I like Christmas. x3 |
Actually... I hate Christmas. It reminds me of a lot of abuse I've dealt with, because it's a holiday that is very closely associated with my father. He currently lives out of state, but still expects my brother and I to be there.
All the presents I get are clothes that are too small so my stepmom can call me fat, lol. |
I made a bunch of cross stitch cristmas cards to put gift cards in this year. Times are tough, my family is cutting way WAY back this year.

My excitement for Christmas has waned in the past few years, namely since I learned to drive. Learning to drive led to driving in the snow and getting a job at the mall, and finally getting a job at the mall led to dealing with long nights where we sold out of Cinnabons and people still kept coming.
I will always remember a night when we had been closed for a half hour and someone came up to our counter like they were all important and asked us to turn on our ovens and make them a few Cinnabons. When I told them we couldn't because we were closed, they kept badgering me and then left with a sarcastic "thanks for your help" that made me want to hit them with the mop I was currently holding. Food service doesn't seem as horrible as retail during Christmas, but we got the customers who were leaving and seemed to always be frustrated. I miss not having a driver's liscense. The magic of Christmas is lost when you grow up. I still like it as a time to be with family and exchange gifts, but I could do without all of the self-centered people who probably don't realize how bad they're really acting. Christmas has moved far from the religious aspect of Christ's birth and good will towards your fellow people. |
I like Christmas, simply beacause its one of the few times my entire family gets along.
Also I like ti when we put on Christmas music and decorate the whole house... Sure the presents are nice, but I like the moments of peace. Sitting by the fireplace with coffee, cocoa or hot apple cider and watching old Christmas movies on VHS...Thats what I love about Christmas... |

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! :D
Only because of the good cheer it brings (except maybe at the mall) lol. And I LOVE giving - I usually don't like receiving gifts (since I don't really want anything), but buying for friends and family, and even for the lest fortunate just makes you warm and fuzzy inside :3 |
decoration is my favorite part.
It really doesn't matter what I get. well mainly because I never want anything. if they really wanted to get me something though money works. but I really don't care. just as long as family is around for the dinner and stuff. I'm good :3 |
I love waking up around 3am on Christmas morning, waking up my brother, then going downstairs to admire all the presents under the tree without waking anybody else up. Then we watch Christmas movies until 7am, which is when we wake my mom and sister up to open presents. (:
Also, TURKEY DINNER AND LOBSTER. YUSSSSSS. |
I love christmas :-] This year I might be spending it at my boyfriends house. Who knows what time they get up but it'll be early cos he has a little sister and the who knows what they do after that ..
I'm getting money from my parents & I'll probs get clothes with it and maybe a new DS.. not sure yet though :| |
Christmas is a fun time for me. This year, I'll be going on a drive with my boyfriend and his family around town looking at Christmas lights and listening to holiday music. <3 What would I want this year? A laptop and a NikonD60. But since that'd cost well over or around $1000, I don't think it's gonna happen. (Especially since my birthday, my sister's birthday, and my dad's birthday just passed, my family doesn't have that kind of cash anymore..)

The Christmas season is a pet peeve of mine. It seems to expand year after year. It's almost as bad as football season! >_< I hate how it plows over the other fall holidays like Hallowe'en and Thanksgiving. Even if there are sales and celebrations for the other two, there's still that ever present shadow of "BUY FOR CHRISTMAS NAO!!!1!" I hate it, I hate it. The Christmas season always started with the coming of Santa Claus at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for me... That's what was special about the parade! @[email protected]
Having ranted as such, I must say that I do so love Christmas, despite not being Christian. I'm hoping I can get a holiday job so I can at least buy gifts for the people I care about. @[email protected] I love giving presents~ |
My immediate family isn't Christian, but half of my extended family is, and it's fun to get together and eat and eat and eat and exchange gifts and good cheer.

For my family it's stuffed shells. And my cousin's amazing cake skills. =D If I'm home long enough before Christmas, my mom and I also watch the ridiculous TV specials like Olive the Other Reindeer. |
My favorite part is the cold weather, seeing decorations, watching people open presents, getting together with family...
|
I adore Christmas, the one time where my family can all get together. For the night before Christmas we get the tree up and ready, the entire living room all decorated. We wait until the evening of Christmas, usually after dinner, to open the gifts, because it's so much fun, especially for the kids, to just wait in anticipating for the gifts. Once the presents are open Christmas is pretty much done, besides the dinner, so we find it entertaining. :3 Then dinner, and then some movies. |
I love Christmas!!
I decorate like crazy, listen to christmas CDS, do a ton of cooking, etc... I love watching people open thier gifts especially my children :) |
My favourite thing about Christmas has to be Christmas dinner. I mean, firstly there's the crackers! I love crackers! Me and my little sister always fight over the wee gifts inside. And the jokes are so bad, so awful, you've got to love it. And when else do I get the excuse to wear a paper crown? Not only that, but when dinner's being cooked the fragrance of the meat being cooked fills the whole house. :D Also, everyone sits down and eats Christmas dinner together. My family don't often do things together so I really appreciate the moments we do and can just talk and enjoy each other's company. :) Lastly, BRUSSEL SPROUTS! I love the wee buggers and there's always plenty on Christmas. It's pretty much the only time of year my mum makes them. :( |
Never celebrated Christmas in my house. My indoctrinated cousins tried to but my family wasn;t very enthusiastic and the presents just disappointed them
I learned about Santa in school from other kids and "santa" visiting us. I believed in him for year but when he didn't bring me what i want, I stopped. (But then again i said i wanted a real lightsaber) Now, I just don't care about Christmas. it's merely an excuse to have parties now. To make up for this non-festiveness, my family does make a deal out of Chinese new Year and that's our "christmas". |
