If you want to learn basic acoustic guitar, you probably want to learn the basic chords. Depending on if you wanna use a pik or strum with your fingers...i like to use piks. but thats just me. http://www.abclearnguitar.com/major-scale.html
This is (seemingly) free site to help you learn scales and chords on guitar. It's the basics :P i prefer tabs but tabs are more focused on stuff that I would play xD. Well, good luck teaching yourself! :P its fun to learn basic songs to play/sing for yourself. Have fun! |
Really, if you're just a beginner, you might want to start out with those cute little beginner packs they have for about a hundred bucks. Comes with a decent guitar and everything you need to start.
And don't give up when learning how to switch chords or do scales. They're fairly monotonous, but you'll shortly be using them to play songs! And good luck! |
learn ur basic chords, if u dont care about music theory then learn tablature. magazines like guitar one & guitar world have 5 songs u can learn in each issue. i learned the most out of them

Start with learnin the basic chords, then play some easy song like last kiss. look em up at guitar tabs.com:yumeh1:

Can i use the same notes on an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar?
|
the notes will just sound different :o i started learning guitar a while ago, went through two instructors, and realized i like the drums more xP I ended up just buying some dvds for my guitar and had someone teach me drums, the dvds are actually really good to learn from was better than a real person

Hello kishura, i actually got a new ibanez electric guitar with a crate amp and a cool foot petal that has 80 different guitar effects, and alot of different drum effects, so i could play any song i ever wanted to by myself, the only problem is, i also don't know how to play the guitar haha, i have looked online for help, and i have found a pretty good one, i have learned the basic notes, and how to strum, but i haven't got very far, if it doesn't help me enough i will just get a friend to teach me all my friends play guitar and are really good at it, but anyways here's the link to the sight that has helped me learn to begin playing very basically there are so many lessons that if you put your mind to it you can get really good with the guitar if you just read all of them and start practicing.

Omg thankx kyle :D I have a couple of friends who play the guitar but im too embarrassed to ask for help :\

ah the guitar, such a beautiful instrument. I remember being so incredibly intimidated when I first started playing the guitar since I knew absolutely nothing about it. What helped me a lot was hours of practice and sitting in my room fooling around with it (self taught, which was quite challenging xD).
everyone's different so some ways others had learned might not work for you so my best advice is experiment a lot with different ways of how others learned. Practicing scales and barre chords helped me a lot when I was first beginning, also about five or so months later I came across the 'Guitar Pro' computer program which also helped a lot. I was a bit odd when I started learning guitar, as the two years previously I bought a cheap accoustic guitar but could never bring myself to practice it, but when I finally bought the electric guitar when I first started learning it seemed different and seemed to motivate me to practice more as well cause I just loved the sound, now I love both xD but like I said, everyone is different. another thing that helped a lot was Guitar Chords @ Chordbook.Com and I still use it a lot, it's a really good site for chords and scales, good luck though, with enough determination you can definitely do it |
Acoustic guitar is best for beginners, if you're actually playing for more than just "the hell of it". It's harder on the fingers and develops the muscles a lot better than an electric. Ultimate Guitar has a lot of great tutorials and there is even a thread in the acoustic guitar part of the forums on which guitar(s) are the best quality for cheapest price (which is what you ought to be looking for in a beginner guitar, something that isn't horrendously expensive but you won't outgrow within the first month of playing).
My first guitar was a Mitchell MD100S acoustic, been playing it for a year and haven't found any troubles with it yet. Yamaha also makes great acoustic guitars for people just starting out as well. |
Hey :) The best guitar to learn on, if your a beginner is an acoustic. To start off you will want to choose a guitar (obviously ^^), unless you already have one. Personally i have a fender as they are well made and have a good sound quality. But if your a total beginner and are not sure whether you want to fully take up the guitar you probably want to go for a something inexpensive such as a lindo brand guitar. To start off you will want to learn the basic chords, have a quick look over these ones: E, A, D, C, and G. One you know the shapes of those keep practicing them until you can play them smoothly. After that have a look at this website who give great guitar help for beginners Learn To Play Acoustic Guitar – Free How To Guitar Lessons For Beginners Online : Learn To Play Acoustic Guitar – Free How To Guitar Lessons For Beginners Online
Hope this helped you :) |
