I'm not a flare dancer, but I've -always- wanted to be one. You're so lucky!! D:

I'm very lucky... I ran into a girl in town at a dance class and she's been showing me all the wonders of the art of spinning... look into it! it's definitely tons of fun!

Sounds very exiting, but I don't think it would be my thing.

If i had the time this would love to do this, when i was working at the ski resorts the manager of the bar would do it to entertain the customers he was still kind of learning but it was still very cool

well there are loads of different props you can use... but if you just like the spinning you can take tennis balls and put them in knee high socks and practice with those... there are alot of helpful videos on youtube but depending on the area you are in it shouldn't be hard to find groups that give lessons :) I'm dancing tomorrow so i might have pictures or short vids i can post :D

ooh, could you? :squee:
im curious, thats a good idea!
the tennis ball thing is a good idea, and would probably be safer since i would have no talent in the beginning...XD
hhmmm.....something tells me i wouldnt find many. im in spanaway washington, not much happens here.

it would seem so! i looked it up on wikipedia, and it showed a list of some props used...it was a long list!

ah, youtube...the sourse of all of my independent learning. xD im not willing to pay for lessons on much of anything, so i rely on youtube.

I am not one but I would love to know how you're not burnt yet? Yes, I know you have to be a professional to do such a hard job. I wish I could be one but then again, I would never want to hold such fire near me. I mean, I do play with the lighter but that's just different to me. I also wish I could see a fire dancer. I have yet to seen anything beside this screen. xD

If I don't get any pics of myself, I'll definitely post photos of my friend Jessa who is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! She's the one that teaches me :) I'm scared of poi and have yet to lite mine up yet but I use fans, wands and fire palms a lot... palms are my favorite. Here is a short 30 sec video from my phone of Miss Jessa :) It's on facebook so you might have to sign in....
