Well i look over and it was a huge MOTH. its wing span was a good 6 inches.
Its body was so huge that it reminded me of a tarantulas back end..

lol, that's pretty crazy...

I think the only thing that really freaks me out, as far as insects go, are maggots. As soon as I see one I instantly want to cringe or vomit. I hate them D:

GAH, i would of run screaming!
well, im Entomophobic, so bugs startle and scare the crap out of me constantly.
ugh, maggots are so gross! i once opened a box of cereal to find a bunch of maggots crawling around in it. i screamed and slammed the box on the ground, and then ran a solid 5 ft. away from it. i remember thinking "THANK GOD they werent moths or flies or something yet!" cuz i just wouldnt have been able to handle that...
hmm.....now that i think about it, its no wonder i dont like cereal!

That would of creeped me out. I don't like bugs. They bother me, and are just annoying as hell. I've seen a couple of pretty big moths. Mainly during the summertime though.

There was this one time me and some people were outside at night and we saw this little black thing, hoping, or rolling along the ground. It kind of looked like a bird so we went towards it and it UNROLLED. Turned out to be a wolf spider (huge fucking spider), and it had curled up and was rolling along. It was weird. Scared the crap outta us when it uncurled though.

This one time when I was going to bed, I pulled my green blanket (I sleep with two big comforters :'D) over me and the light was still on so I was sure i saw a nasty big spider, but I flipped out and threw my blanket. My mom came to see what was the matter and I told her that there was a big spider in my blanket. She checked; nothing. So I went back and the thing was still there! Turns out, wolf spiders can hold onto blankets even while they're being shaken. D:

There was a moth the other morning that was so big, my brother and I actually thought it was a bird with the way it was flying around! It was HUGE! It wasn't until it landed on the ceiling did we see that it was just a hugenormous moth!

robinhoodfan13 12-01-2009 11:32 PM

OMG(osh) We were in this cabin a couple of years ago, we were tired and i was almost asleep when my sister was like "There's a spider on the wall" and i told her to go squish it " but it's really really big!" So me being tired and grumpy gets up to look at said spider only to scream in shock... It was a GIANT and i mean GIANT wolf spider...bigger than my hand... ugh sooo creepy we eventually went and got my uncle and he squashed it with a hammer...i don't like cabins anymore....

Staria 12-01-2009 11:42 PM

I had a spider fall on my face in the middle of the night once XD, a big ground spider of some kind. Scared the hell out of me because it was huge...

Lune Selet 12-02-2009 12:17 AM

wolf spiders are poisonous so be careful along with brown recluse and tunnel web spiders. but the good thing about big spiders are they're territorial so you only have to about one.

ZeGuMmIBeaRQueEn 12-02-2009 12:47 AM

@staria- OMG ew ew ew ew ew! i would've had a heart attack!!

When I was a kid, I was getting ready to take a bath when this female black widow (they're larger than males with the characteristic red on their backs) fell into the tub. I screamed and my mom somehow managed to get it in the toilet and flush it. Of all the places in the US, we have black widows, brown recluses, and wolf spiders. Our wolf spiders don't seem to get as big, though.

There was a box of rice in the pantry, and I decided to make some.. But when I started to pour it in a pan to cook I found a bunch of small dead moths. Now I tape everything closed..

BinkaKitty 12-02-2009 06:55 PM

i had this fucking HUGE brown recluse in the bathroom about a month ago. i just went in there at about 1 in the morning and sat down. then i looked over and it was just sitting there on the wall. i wasn't sure what kinda spider it was cuz i'd never seen a brown recluse before. so i asked my husband to come look at it then squish it. but really, this thing was the size of a tarantula! i've also seen a wolf spider that big. this was when i was a kid, and my dad and i found it. he poked it with a stick, and it stood on it's back legs and was attacking back! it was creepy!

disturbed66 12-12-2009 03:41 AM

Omg these stories are creeping me out.

I think it was the day before I left to go to college, it was getting late and I was still packing.
Next thing you know, my grandmother starts screaming, and there's this huge ass frog in our basement.
I mean it was huge, I don't know what kind it was though.
And since I'm terrified of frogs, I freaked out and ran to the top of the steps.
My dad had to go and get a dust pan and the broom to take the frog out.
It's creeping me out just thinking about it.
DDD:

Edit:
Does my story count since I talked about frogs instead of bugs?

Smellerbee 12-12-2009 06:04 AM

Errr... well one time I stayed awake for about 70 hours and started seeing things. When I walked out of the bathroom I saw a giant white spider about 1 foot tall just chilling out in the hall. I closed the door and when I poked my head back out it was gone.

Cadbury 12-12-2009 06:05 AM

Bugs freak me out all the time. I was SHOCKED one day when I opened my house's front door and found there were a bunch of stink bugs hiding in the crack of the door. I couldn't kill them and I couldn't reach them because they were tucked so far inside the door crack...

Also one time a really big wolf spider was on the wall of our living room and we jumped on the furniture to get away from it, no clue why...

ArsenicAttitude 12-12-2009 06:08 AM

I just looked up wolf spiders and brown recluses, because I've never seen one before.
Those things are huge.
And the bites for the recluses are horrible.

Smellerbee 12-12-2009 06:13 AM

Yeah when I was a kid I had frequent encounters with brown recluses and wolf spiders and also a couple of black widows. I was scared to death of the brown recluse and black widow because I was told that they are poisonous.
