I don't like roaches. And..I know I shouldn't be afraid of anything but I'm not sure it's fear so much as disgust. They are absolutely the ugliest bugs I've ever encountered. And, not all insects are pretty, but roaches are bottom of the barrel to me. Plus I've thankfully never had to deal with them wherever we've lived, but ugh, they are nasteh. I've seen them in school on the wall, just hanging out like it's nothing. And you know, if you see them in daylight like that, outside the walls - that's a problem. It can mean there are so many on the inside that they're beginning to have to come out. You know how they sort of avoid light...I haven't researched why. Also what freaks me out is how fast they are, since all their legs are even in length. They are some frikkin' mini Flashes you know. |
A definitely phobia of mine is closed spaces; the like where you can feeling every wall touching you on all sides, top and bottom. I consider this a phobia because of your definition in that it is incredibly irrational. My father is claustrophobic, and that is not genetic, but here I have it as well. There was no instance that triggered it or any sort of cause, it's just there.
A few fears that I have are animal relation: sharks and spiders. I hate, hate spiders and have called them manifestations of ultimate evil once or twice. And while this is a bit extreme, it feels so true! Not only can I not stand to see them in any proximity to me, neither can I think about them or see pictures of them without shivering and having to look away. I work at a library and our children's section has quite a few spider books that are almost always being checked out. Whenever I go to check them in I flip out when I see the covers and either close my eyes when I scan them or I slip them over. Sharks, on the other hand, are almost borderline phobia. I have never encountered a shark apart from museums, aquariums, and that blasted Animal Planet channel. My dad did tell me a story about his run-in with a shark while swimming once, but I can't place that to rationale. I cannot go into the ocean any deeper than my waist without starting to shake and shiver rather violently. I end up fleeing the water briefly afterwards. The idea of people swimming in the ocean makes me fear for them. |
mmm Phobia.. spiders.. defiantly spiders.. >.< Just the smallest one will either make me freeze in place screeching.. or make me hit the other side of the room faster than anyone can blink.. Every time one is in my room it takes ALL my energy to get near it to get rid of it.. it takes me like almost an hour or something to finely do something about it.. but if I have a friend near I try to get them to do it.. xp My family and friends make fun of me a lot.. cause I will freak out so bad... They even take advantage of my phobia.. :( my brother caught one in a tube and my mom told him to show it to me (this was recent) T_______T they are so MEAN TO ME!.. They make my insides shudder and give me heart-attack like feelings.. . And i can spot one from across the room too >.<!
I Also do not like bees.. not quite phobic but close.. I have a bit of anxiety to which makes me not want to be in large crowed.. Every time I get ready to go to the Anime Convention near here I second think that plan like a hounded times.. If it was not for my sister going with me.. I would never get enough guts to go.. I don't even go to the store unless someone is with me.. OOHhh and a fear of pain.. If I know I might get hurt I won't do it.. so yeah. I am kinda of a chicken.. 8( |
KaciCake: The fear of being touched as you are sounds to me like acute paranoia or something like that, a psychological problem. Have you tried therapy for that? Just because I have seen it on Tv before and this kind of dumb movie 'Lars and the Real Girl' comes to mind(Google it).
Anyway my biggest phobia is Pathophobia which is the fear of disease. Mostly ever since my dad passed away of an unexpected heart attack in his sleep in 2005, I have trouble hearing about diseases or watching them on TV. I think actually that I am getting somewhat better but to know too much about a disease creeps me out. For example Brittney Murphy's recent death, 32 year old dying of a heart attack, one particular night that gave me the serious creeps. I hate knowing about something like that, how easy and random something like that can occur and especially to young people. Two other things I am afraid of that can actually turn me into the ditzy girl I so am not are bees and spiders. If a bee flys anywhere near me or I see a spider I will shriek and in the case of a spider will cower sitting high up on the couch hugging my legs until either it disappears or my mom can come take care of it. |
Well, let's see. My fears are heights and thunderstorms.
My phobia are spiders. |
Bees are the number one thing. Even if its just a pic of them I cringe at the sight of them on the television. or if I here the sound of them. uuughh it just makes me shudder!!!!
The 2nd thing that makes me cringe is needles they freak me out really bad. As a kid i would try and fight off the doctor so I wouldn't have to get a shot. or Vaccine rather. It never worked all I would suceed in doind is stressing my muscles out so it would hert. But No Needles scare me. I want a tatoo but will prolly never get one because of my fear! The 3rd thing that Freaks me out is Tornados. When I was a little kid I was scare of ever thunder strom because I would think that all thunderstorm would = a tornado. So i would get so freaked that I'd make myself sick. My parents hated it. Of course now I'm older yeah I still get alittle nervous in thunderstorms but it is no longer that irrational fear anymor. SO I can control it now. |
Spiders make my skin crawl *shivers* other creepy looking things scare me too..like those big looking stink bugs and other creepy critters..
|
I have a horrible fear of small heights. Step stools freak me out as do ladders and stairs. Basicly anything I could fall off of and live through.
I also have a problem with other people's houses. I don't like to sit on their furniature, eat their food, drink anything, use the bathroom. |
For me it's... really wierd things... like the feel of chalk dust and flour, which is hilarious as I cook as a living.
I can't stand the feel of flour- it sets my teeth on edge- something about powdery things sends a shive up my spine, but that's about it- that and closed spaces. I don't think I'm entirely claustro, as I love wearing masks (including gas masks) but in places where I can't see an exit that full of people I freak out |
Oh my god. I have SUCH a fear of octopuses. ugh look at this video... BBC News - Octopus is discovered in crab pot oh dear god... the suckers... oh jeez so scary
|
I really can't stand butterflies. Ughhhh, they creep me out!
And... this is a really weird one, but since I was little I've been terrified of the Long Man of Wilmington Long Man of Wilmington - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I'm not sure why because it's such a weird and random thing to be scared of, but I can't stand looking at pictures of it. It really freaks me out. Ahhhhhh, I'm feeling nervous just thinking about it! |
I am very afraid of snakes. I don't know whether it's a phobia, but it's probably the closest to one that I have.
I remember one day I was hearing strange noises from my window air conditioner. I looked at it and found nothing, so I lifted the blinds to see if the problem was on the outside. I saw a long, black scaled body and exclaimed something to the effect of "Oh ::beep::! A snake!" and dropped the blinds like they were on fire. Then I grabbed a feather duster and hit the air conditioner a few times and retreated to the far end of the room. Apparently, the snake took that to mean it should get off. |
Wax figurines freak me out to no end. I was at the newest Lincoln museum with my grandparents and sister and we were going through this walkthrough exhibit. We get up to this scene in the White House dining room and I look up at the Linoln Statue and I swear to God it winked at me
WINKED!!! FRICKING WINKED!!!!! Ever since then, wax dolls just give me the shivers. |
I have a big fear of spiders. They've always freaked me out.
|
I got a really bad fear for spiders, doors & windows and this is not a fear really, but I can't stand near a person who's brushing their teeth. the noise makes my skin crawl and I have to get away from the person :P no problem listening to myself brush but any other person, brrrrrrrr
|
i have a phobia of roaches i really dont like them, they are so gross...
|
I have a really big fear of amphibians in general. I can't even stand to look at cartoon pictures of them, because i totally start freaking out.
|
Water: Mainly, I'm afraid of beaches :D When I was small, I hated swimming pools because I was afraid there would come sharks out. I hate seeing documentaries about the life underwater, 'cause it creeps me out, and I'm so afraid that anything will touch me, when I go to the beach. Oh, and I'm afraid of being in the zoo, and those big water tanks you know? Since I saw Free Willie, I have been afraid of the tanks would break, and sharks and octopuses would come out and touch me. Thinking on it makes my stomach turn x_x
Bee's: In the summer, there's always bees following me when I walk to school. Makes my blood freeze, and I'm about to cry, while I walk slowly away from it. I hate it when they are about to sit on me, but I don't dare to run from it, unless there isn't anyone around xD I don't want to look like a fool. Cars in the middle of the night: Yeah, once I was walking with my friends, in the middle of the night, a car drove right towards us. We were sitting at a bus stop, and I jumped up so fast, I didn't even notice myself doing it before the car turned away from us. Now I almost cry, if a car drives by me, in the middle of the night. Oh, and I'm afraid of trucks if they are driving towards me, from behind. |
I have a big fear of spiders and heights. I was always scared of heights my whole life. Spiders have become a fear just recently mainly because I had a dream spiders were crawling over my entire body.
|
I hate snakes and cockroaches, they give me the eiibie jeebies... I absolutely and positively hate them and would not bat an eye if they were to all go extinct tomorrow. Except for the black and garden snakes, I know they actually have a use as I am not much partial to mice or rats as they are very gross.
|
Much like you can't stand to be touched in any way, my issue with that isn't so bad. I just hate being touched by strangers. I can't stand when someone with whom I am not familiar sits next to me on a bus or bench and their arm brushes against mine. When I flinch away, it irritates me even more to find that often they seem to take that as a sign that I would like them to brush their arm up against mine AGAIN. A more odd fear I have would be arachibutyrophobia. I terribly HATE the idea of having peanut butter stuck to the roof of my mouth! (You've all been there if you eat peanut butter, I'm sure.) It makes me sick. I feel choked and ill, so I'm very careful to avoid the roof of my mouth when consuming toast and sandwiches. D: |
most bugs in general, spider, cockroaches, etc.
not like caterpillars or butterflies or anything. Although I know this one chick who is hecka fraid of butterflies.....says their really disgusting XDD oh................*clears throat*......and the dutch... *roommate from background* DUTCH HATER! (HA HA J/K just watched Goldmember....bets movie eva! XDD) |
I despise centipedes and worms. I used to hate snakes, and I still do, but I'm getting better with that. If I see a worm I squeal and jump backwards and centipedes make the hair on the back of my neck stand up. They are disgusting. I don't know if I call these fears or just major dislikes....
|
I know it seems silly to a lot of people but ghosts are my biggest fear. Anything paranormal scares me to death. I get really paranoid and have had panic attacks in the past. x__x
|
I have a horrible fear of spiders, bees, what could be lurking in the dark, and heights.
My fear of spiders has gotten so bad that even if it's on the outside of the window, I freak out and move away from it. I got this phobia from my grandmother. My mother has a fear of spiders too but she's not as bad as my grandmother and I. We don't even like looking at pictures of spiders, lol. |
