What holiday do you celebrate, and how are you celebrating or evading it this year?

I don't think much of holidays, especially Christmas, though I don't mind paying my respects to the Winter Solstice.

I'm visiting my family in Germany this year, for the first time in 9 years.. and some of the family I have/will be seeing I've never met before, or met last when I at most a couple of years old.

In any case, Merry Christmas to those that are celebrating it.

We celebrate Christmas, but purely in the non-religious, over-commercialized way, which I love!

My parents are very religious and I used to have to celebrate the religious type of Christmas when I was growing up... what a buzz-kill that was! What kid wants to spend Christmas morning at church?
I much prefer it being a holiday centered around being with your family, eating until you're sick, and drinking until you're sick again.

We're spending Christmas day at home, just the three of us, then my family are coming to visit a day or two after.
We were supposed to be visiting the hubby's family before Christmas, but couldn't make it due to all the snow, so now we'll have to squeeze them in sometime after Christmas, too.

My family isn't religious at all, so we happily celebrate Christmas in the commercialized way! Not that I mind at all, I love Christmas! Good food, good company, good gifts!
