To be honest, no, I do not believe in such things as faeries. However, you have to consider what it means to believe in something. You can laugh as you please, I am doing just the same, but really, if you think about believing in the concept or the idea or notion of such things, then you believe in them, right? I think that the concept of believing is entirely dependent if not personal. Although I do not believe that inch-tall people frolic through the air, I think that idea of such things in stories and dreams is a form of the latter belief; and that I do pertain to.

im gonna keep this short.
i do believe in them, if we didnt have things to believe in such as fairies and dragons than the world wud be a very dull and boring place!

As many of you stated(in many different forms in fact, including myself), its just something that until proven, or disproven(however that is possible, I do not know). Its just like the debate I usually get sucked into with some of my friends who are super religious, and me not being religious due to the fact that they cannot prove to me the existance of any sort of God. Now, Im not saying that to spark an argument, its just the way I see things, and I need the actual proof of something to be able to accept it(for instance, there are no representations of what God looks like...only "his" son...are we even sure that God is a male?).

I do in the fact that items that were sitting on my dresser had to go somewhere. I think they just like making lives difficult. Hiding keys, locking doors, and other unexplainable occurrences that cause no harm.

I think those are goblins ^_^ They do stuff like that, hiding your things.

I do believe in fairies with all my heart. I see them all the time. Usually as little sparkles of light, especialy during the early morning. But there have been two occasions where I saw them as a physical thing. One I saw thought he/she was hiding behind a fold in my blanket, but I could still see their wing. It was like a butterfly wing. It was black around the edges and transparent periwinkle. The other one I saw flying out of my guinea pig's cage. It's wigs were brown and tan.

I think if you truely believe in the magic and beauty of nature, you'll see them and other creatures. I live out in a forest, so I'm sure there are fairies and other creatures everywhere :O

Name just about anything from one of those mythical creature books (mind you I have a few ^^), and I'll tell you sure, I believe in them. Like most of the people have stated, though, it's not necessarily a belief, but a belief that they might be able to exist, because nobody's proven to me that they haven't yet.

Very well put! ^^

I'm the same. I believe in fairies very much~ though for me I just don't know what kind are truly out there or how they're really suppose to look.

I totally believe in fairies! Along with Dragons, mermaids, and other fantastical figures. Though I guess I'm kind of odd about how I believe in them. I guess I think of them in the same manner that others believe Angels exist? (Which I totally also believe in. XD) Like they've got their own realm of existence that could overlap with ours so they can visit and check things out and play with people.

I very much believe in fairies. My aunt and I have actually really gotten into the whole fairy thing, and we ordered a bunch of fairy books. My favorite has been Fairies 101 by Doreen Virtue. On page 63 and 64, there is a picture of a small purple hand print said to be that of a fairy, on a little girl's sock. And on pg 115, there is a picture of a menehune (a fairy from Hawaii) accepting an offering in the form of a gourd drum. It basically looks like a little, shiny person. It's really cool! Yes, I'm aware that people can do photoshop and all that, but for what purpous would these people photoshop a picture. Oo, yay, I'm in a book that nobody but fairy believers will read. Really? No. I think not.
Fairies are all over the place, and they help out with a lot of different things. There are also a few tricksters here and there. My friend has had an issue with one of those, where the fairy would take anything shiney and hide it away. Change, keys, jewelry, anything shiny. Then, one day, she and I read a fairy book and figured out how to know what fairies did what, and what kind of fairy was most likely taking her things. A tricky little Brownie. We appealed to the Brownie, gave him some little offerings and said that he could have those if he gave back what he had taken. The next day, the offerings were gone, and the things that were taken were in the place of the offerings.

My aunt's yard also has a fairy circle in it, which is just awesome!

I think that it's fun to pretend that they're out there and they are so cute to look at.

Not my favorite magical thing out there though.
Not sure you guys played Fable, but those fairies sucked ass and I wanted to kill them all. x.x

HappyStarr 03-11-2010 01:27 AM

haha ya, Fairies aren't always as sweet and kind as we like to the think they are. They're mischievous and love to play games with people. My mom's had all sorts of things go missing (literally--searched the house up and down) only to have it turn back up in a completely different room/level than it was originally. Looking back, though, I'm glad nothing serious happened...'cause it always seemed to be the lighters that this happened to the most.

I believe in fairies. >>;

There are times when I'll look all over the place for one specific item, and then I give up and when I come back it's right in a spot that I know I looked at over and over.

I think they do it just to spite me.

ElendarSilvermoon 03-12-2010 04:34 AM

Faeries exist, and I do believe! :) They're the guardians of nature and help trees and animals grow and live a healthy life.
