Have you ever smelled something so foul that you nearly puked just thinking about it later? I have and the damn smell is still haunting me.
I work with clothes, paper, money, cardboard and all sort of dry, icky stuff that dries my hands out so badly that they hurt. And well.. While standing in line at my pharmacy, I see a tester bottle of Burt's Bees Carrot Nutritive hand lotion.
I thought I had been blessed by the lotion gods - I'd heard good things about Burt's Bees and was delighted I might get some relief from my chapped hands.
No sooner had I put on the damned lotion did I realize what hell had been unleashed upon my hands. It smelled faintly of old people and used bookstores but other than that, there was no distinct smells I could pick out. All I knew was that each time I got my hands anywhere near my face, I nearly threw up my lunch.
Even now it's like the scent is burned into my nose. I keep getting these horrible waves of nausea just thinking about it.
I've never ever smelled something so horrible that wasn't something that was decaying or just not supposed to smell nice to begin with. Has anyone else ever had an experience like this? D:

Oh that's terrible. I wonder who came up with that product and how many people they got opinions from about it. I can't imagine if it literally made you want to throw up that they did enough research.
One of the smells that took forever to get out of my nose was a hotel room that my mom and I stayed in when we went to Chicago. There were no rooms available in the first 3 hotels we tried and we were getting desperate so finally we found one. The lady said she'd give us a discount because it was the last room. At the time I was thinking "why would we get a discount if it was the last room? You'd think they'd realize that rooms are scarce (and therefore worth more) if they only have one left." What she meant by last room was clearly that it was the worst room. It reeked of something...a really strong chemical maybe. It smelled like chlorine except worse, it wasn't bleach. But it was so strong that we had to open up the windows and leave for a couple hours to let it air out. When we got home we had to wash even the clothes that we didn't wear because they smelled like they'd been soaked in cleaner. It made me wonder what the room smelled like before the chemicals. It would have to be pretty bad for them to decide that it would be better to fill the air with that crap.

I have gone one step farther and smelled something so foul that it did make me throw up O_o
certain cleaning products make me throw up just from a small whiff, I had to put some of that powdered bleach cleanser in my sink the other day and after the smell hit my nose i started gagging and ended up throwing up the smell just lingered in my nose for hours even though i was in the next room over....
I hate the smell (and taste) of cinnamon as well it doesn't make me throw up but it does make me feel like i have to...
there is a few other things but i'm sure they make anyone gag (ie: rotten milk, dirty diapers, etc)

_-_ no I haven't, but the worst thing I have ever smelled in my life......is my brother's farts. I swear, he NEVER goes into the bathroom to relieve himself from gas, but lets it loose in whatever room he's in ><

Weird, I've never met somebody that hated the smell of coffee before (I dislike coffee but the smell is fine).
I live in a place where skunks run rampant so I'm always coming across dead skunks on the side of the road when I'm driving. Now, rotting carcass and skunk do NOT mix.

@ElysiumFate ~ My stepfather accidentally ran over a skunk (poor thing) and it smelled like hell. :gonk:

I really really love the smell of coffee, tea, and baking bread. Though those are fairly normal as far as likes go.
Dislikes? I absoultely abhor skunk, cooking cabbage, and the smell of artificial rose. Eck.

@CaptainHowdy: *Blech* The thought of it makes me gag.
Anyway, I forgot to add that I usually can't stand the smell of any type of men's cologne. Every now and then there's a good one, but more often I find myself trying not to upchuck in front of the person wearing the stuff.
I can usually stand most women's perfumes, however. Anything that smells like fake vanilla or apples does me in though.

I'm not usually overly fussed by smells, but one morning i awoke to something purely foul. The bathrooms of our uni halls have always been a tad doubious, but this particular morning, about a week ago, and ever day subsequently, it's smelt as if somethings literally crawled down my drain and died. It's horrendous, and if i leave the door open, it leaks out into my room, where it smells ten times worse.

I've been thinking about trying some Burt's Bees products... now you've scared me off them a bit. D:
There's a woman who always seems to be on the same bus as me, and I don't intend to be mean, but the woman stinks. I don't mean that she could use a shower, I mean she smells really, really repulsive.
It's like a mix of BO, that horrible smell some people have in their houses when they have dogs, and something else that smells familiar but I can't put my finger on exactly what it is.
To make it worse, I get really bad motion sickness, and she always sits in either right in front of or across from me, and she makes me feel so much more sick.
Just thinking about it makes me feel ill.

There was this girl in my old school, and to put it bluntly, she had some hygiene issues. She always used to hang around with us, and some of us didn't have the heart to kind of spurn her. But the smell was very unpleasant. I don't think she ever washed...

Strangely enough, someone threw up right by my locker today. And since my school's janitors are oh so brilliant, they cleaned it with old dirty nasty water. After that, I went without the right books until the smell was gone. I didn't have the stomach to stand there and get the right ones, it just smelled way to awful. Dx

One time my family was eating sandwiches for lunch and they had already made mind because I was late to lunch, but they must have put something foul on the sandwiches because everytime I tried to get within 20 feet of the lunch table I would nearly puke from the smell. I felt bad, but I had to turn lunch down that day. =(

I can't think of anything other than the basic eugy stuff most people gag around.
However, I can not STAND the smell of sweet-pickles, or bleach, or vinegar. I like red-wine vinegar, but not white-vinegar. Can't /stand/ it.
Doesn't make me sick, but it just...it makes me react like fingers down a chalk board. -shudder- Ugh.

My aunt was just saying something like this the other day. I threw away some food or something and she said the trash smelled rotten. Weird thing is, She smelled it every time she opened the trashcan and I never smelled it... I even took out the trash and didn't smell it.

I swear bearded dragons have the worst smelling poo ever. I have five of them and that's really the only thing that makes me want to puke when I smell it. I have to clean it up right away so it doesn't stink. Thankfully they don't poop every day or they'll poo during their soaks so it's not as bad as it sounds.

I remember once some guys in college found a plastic bottle of rancid milk in the common room and decided to play football with it in the corridor. The bottle ended up exploding every where and soaking the carpets. The stench was unbearable and the school after a few months replaced the carpets.
