I'd like to learn German. I just think it's a neat language. I like the pronunciation of the words, and such.
|
I'd love to learn German. My best friend and her family came here from Germany so whenever we're over at her parents house they have full conversations in German. I think it would be so neat to know what they were saying and have a conversation with them in German as well.

I am very and by very I do mean VERY...slowly learning Japanese. It all started with my interest in the culture and the country and its people.
I am teaching myself so that's why it is a slow process. I am trying hard to learn though. I have been studying for about a year now. I know bits and pieces of Spanish, Gaelic, Irish, Italian and French but for some reason I have a hard time retaining what I learn. Except for Gaelic, Irish and Italian. I have incentive there though I suppose because those languages are of my background. I actually find learning Japanese and my ability to retain it to be pretty easy. I am a constant student of it though. I won't call myself fluent for quite sometime. ^_^ |
Well, since I'm half Filipino and my mother didn't teach me, I'd like to be fluent in Tagalog.
When I visited my family in the Philippines, I couldn't really speak to anyone and it was very awkward. Thank god, in school they teach English there, so I could at least communicate somewhat... I'm also fond of German, it just sounds really interesting, haha. I also would like to speak(or understand) Korean, because I watch so many K-dramas, and hate waiting for subtitles~ |
I'd like to learn Russian and Polish. My significant other's partially Russian, at least his grandparents spoke it along with Swedish, and I've always found it interesting. Besides, I'd like to startle some people by speaking it. I already scare some people when I speak in German to my boyfriend. They don't expect it from how I look. And I'd like to learn Polish because it just sounds so pretty...

I want to learn Japanese and Latin. Old Latin, not the New Latin.
|
Currently I'm learning French, but I would love to learn German, Italien, Japanese, and Polish as well.
I would love to learn these languages for different reasons. One would be because I plan to travel through Europe one day, and knowing these would be a great help. Another reason is that languages are beautiful; not to mention they provide insight into a country's culture. I love learning about the world, and different languages are a big part of that. |
I'm currently learning Spanish. Not only is it a very useful language to know in California, but my step-dad is from Ecuador and doesn't speak English very well, so it will be nice to be able to talk with him better. :D
I'd also like to learn French, Japanese, Latin, Sign, Esperanto, and perhaps Greek, German, Russian, and Mandarin too. I doubt I'll have time to get around to all of those, but those are the ones that are most interesting to me. Oh, and I can't forget Irish and Gaelic! And maybe some Native American languages too.... Really, I'd like to learn as many languages as I can; or at least study about them, even if I don't have time or resources to become fluent. Actually, Esperanto just recently rocketed up on my list, simply because it was deliberately invented to be a global, international language. It never caught on, but I still think it's really interesting. Even though it borrows from a lot of other languages, its existentially different from all of them simply because it was created all in one go, rather than developing over time the way all the others did; as a minor linguistics geek, that makes it extra interesting to me. |
Hmm, though all languages interest me and I would like to learn multiple, I mainly want to learn Japanese. I wanna move their someday. They get all the latest gadgets and whatnot! :P
|
japanese hands down. i love their tradition and culture and the language is cool :D
|
I would love to learn Polish. I think that it would make my studies much easier and encourage me to actually visit Poland again. I'd be able to talk to my friends there without the trouble of using a translator!
|
Hmm... Probably Romanian. I'm trying to learn it right now, but without anyone who speaks it fluently (except my math teacher, who hates me) around me, it's kinda hard. I've got roots in Romania, and I plan on going back there one day. It looks like a nice place. I have friends there that I met online, they're really nice. Most of them are from the states as well, and don't speak Romanian either, though. ^^; |
well, I would like to learn Russian :3 just because it sounds nice. Actually if I got to chose, I wouldn't know which language I would like to choose! >.< I would like to learn mandarin because it's my home language, and I still suck at it and I can't read or write in it. I would like to improve my French because I ditched it in Gr.9, plus all the good culinary schools are all speaking french *rolls eyes* I would like to learn Latin because a ton of languages are based from it, especially science and english terms :d. I would like to learn Hebrew because they have such pretty parties (that I watched in TV's anyways) and they seem to always celebrate with such gusto and it would be awesome if I actually understand what they're saying XP plus, samosas are yummy~ I would like to learn Spanish because it has an amazing folklore history and I would love to dig into them in their original language. I would like to learn Mexican because it's, like, the "wild west" and all that. And I would also like to learn all of the dialects of the different cultures of China, since there's so many and so different, it would be wonderful if I could go and explore them all and be able to understand and communicate <3

Well I am learning Spanish at the moment, and it is alright. I mean, it is easy and all, but if I had to chose a second place to live it wouldn't be a Spanish speaking country. It would probably be Japan or some place like that. Japan is amazing place, I have been there before. It is beautiful and advanced into technology. Plus my uncle went to Japan and they needed a Caucasian actor and so he became a doctor there! Just because he LIVED there and was Caucasian! Plus his children are Japanese/Caucasian and they became baby models because they are mixed. I wouldn't just want to live there due to me becoming famous, lol but I do like it there! Anyways, sorry for getting off topic, but I would like to learn Japanese.

Japanese for sure ;)
I know some words :D |
I would say Tagalog, then i can finally understand what my mother and my aunts are saying to eachother :D
i was thinking of learning it but i keep getting to lazy and distracted :( |
I know a tiny bit of Spanish. Would love to learn French because I think no matter what you say in that language, it sound pretty. lol Also Hungarian would be nice to learn just to impress my fiance's family. :-D
|
I'd like to learn German, I am mostly German and I'd love to learn the language, I plan on traveling there someday.
|
I'm a native english speaker, but I know parts of french, spanish and german. The language that I most want to add to the list is Japanese.
|
I was taking Spanish before I graduated and would love to pick it back up again. Other than that I'd like to pick up French, Japanese, Greek, Latin and various conlangs (things like Klingon) when I can afford to sit around all day and do nothing but read.
|
I want to learn Japanese because my friend's mom says I should and so I can understand her better.
I want to learn Korean so I can understand my other friend's mom. I want to learn German so I can tell if my mom's saying I'm crazy or to take out the garbage, and I'm part German and would love to go there one day. I want to learn French because I love how it sounds. |
I could learn Tagalog for free I'm just lazy. If I could magically learn a language I'd pick Mandarin since it'd be sooooo useful.
|
First of all it would be english.. XDDDD
i guess it would be french i just think it is a cool language |
I'd love to learn German, Latin & Russian. I took a Spanish class when I was in High School but I don't remember any of it. I've learned a few words of German from music though ^^
|
You know, I really, really wanna learn Chinese but I know that I'd never had the mental capacity to do it.
And on the other hand, I really wanna learn Tsalagi, the Cherokee language. :( I'd never have anyone to practice it with though... so if anyone on the form knows Tsalagi, I say, "how you doing?" :D |
