When you're older, let's say 70-80, what type of person do you hope to be by then?
Would you like to be a grandfather/mother of a few, or a lot of, kids?
Would you just like to be successful? Do you plan on getting married? What types of professions would you like to have had in your lifetime?

I'm curious because I remember an activity in high school where our teacher asked us this question. He then told us to write it down and save it for as long as possible. If we still have it when we're near the age of 70-80, open it up and look at it, then compare the list to how we turned out.
It seemed like an interesting and fun thing to do. Unfortunately I lost my list along with just about every other thing I ever wrote in high school. =p
So I'll try this again!

When I'm older I hope to have traveled all over the world tasting different foods and experiencing other cultures. I hope to have completed my goals like becoming a Pâtissière and opening my own shop.
Kids aren't currently a concern for me and I'd probably prefer not to have any,
although I hope to enjoy my fair share of love, with either gender.
I hope they're all good relationships that come to a clean close with neither of us leaving with regrets.
I would absolutely love to be wealthy but would not be disappointed if I was not. I was raised in a middle class family and this was never really something I cared about.

EDIT:I wouldn't mind settling down with someone, either. I didn't mean to make it sound like I'd like to "get around".
I'd be very happy if the relationship didn't have to come to a close. =p

This is all I can really come up with at the moment. Hopefully I can come back and edit a few things after seeing some of your posts! ^^

Just looking over it now and I already realized this is tremendously different from what I remember writing in high school.

I look forward to the replies~

I hope to be lucky enough not to get cancer by then D:

Apart from that everything else is positive! xD
I want to be married to the man I love.
I hope that by then we've accumulated enough money to be able to stay at home and snuggle next to each other and enjoy the rest of our days together :D
Both of us becoming successful artists isn't necessary but it would be a HUGE bonus!
I want to know that my little brothers grew up well and successful :)
If I have kids and grandkids I would not be ashamed to bug them everyday in the awesomest way possible. I'd be a cool grandma >D
I want to know how to bake all my favorite goodies by then :)

God, this IS different how I would have done it in high school! o_O

great idea. :)

by the time i'm crazy old i hope to have done a good - great! job raising my nephew, and managed to have kept a good job for most of my life (no mid-life crisis job change here). mmm, a job like a salesman. i don't need anything big, as long as i have a big life outside of work. i hope i find romance, and that eventually i find one that is a life long adventure. i like commitment (ergo my hopeful job and hopeful love). i don't know if i want kids of my own. i don't want there to be a separation between my nephew and my kids. i want a nice secluded house (that i OWN) in the country somewhere. and... actually if i had all that i'd be pretty pleased. :)

- Hopefully by that time, I'll have traveled the world. If not, then I hope I'll have visited at least these countries: Greece, Italy, Egypt, Japan, China, Korea, Africa, West Indies.

- It would be nice to have visited a Native American Reservation.

- As an addendum to the traveling the world item, I hope to be a polyglot.

- I'm not really concerned about marriage or children... in fact, I really don't want either. Too much commitment.

- It'd be great if I were in some creative profession by that time (manga artist, graphic designer, writer, etc.)

- Learning an instrument would be nice.

- Wealth isn't much of an issue, but I hope to at least life comfortably for the rest of my life.

And that's all for now, folks!

Lets see. Where I want to be when Im older. Well, for starters, I want my Red Seal to show that I am a proper chef. Either be the owner of a restaurant, or have been the Executive Chef at one(or both, being a part-owner and executive chef). Have a family with at least 3 kids. As for the rest, probably travel the world, experienced all the cuisine that I possibly can. And just enjoy my life. That about sums it up.

At 70-80, hopefully I'm a retired professor (or perhaps part-time), very active and healthy, running a bed'n'breakfast with my partner (or just owning one). I don't want to be wealthy, but yes, successful. And I want to be visited by my kids and grandkids (and their kids, perchance).

Well, I want a successful life of desserts and pastries to look back on, but being 70... I want to be already in an old fart's home, being the one that won't die. Ever. I want to be a sweet old thing that can barely get out of her chair but can fly around a kitchen like a witch on a broomstick. I want random kids from the neighborhood or city or whatever to visit me and eat my desserts. I'd want them to sit and listen to me, but not listen to me brag of my adventures of being a pastry chef. I also want my best friend there with me so we can be the delinquents of the old people home. We'd wreak havoc.
My kids would visit me every so often, but by that time I'd forget how they looked and only refer to a time i'd seen them years ago when they were thinner. I'd always say, "You've gained a little weight, it's very becoming."

I want to wake up next to the love the life, hoping that we're both healthy and still as warm as we are today.
With the experience of being the Physics teacher, I hope my children will also grow up with my smarts, but not my partner's smart-mouth. Although it's cute, I know they won't get far with it. Also I hope my grandchildren will also carry the smarts.
My boyfriend doesn't like biking, but I'll still be doing it despite if he joins me. Even if I marry someone else, biking will always be there.
I know many pets will come and go, but I hope to have a cat.
I'll still be kindhearted, even if my children never come to visit. I'll know when to backoff and when to help.
Having some money would be nice.
I hope to still keep my diaries and blogs, even if no one reads them. I enjoy it greatly.

I know I'll be different when I'm older, but I hope to be the same person in heart. I enjoy my life, and I hope I will never be sad.

I hope that I'm still married to my husband, and I hope he's still alive, too.
I hope we're still as crazy about each other as ever. I hope we're still silly.
I hope my daughter's grown up happy and I have a really good relationship with her.
I hope I've had at least one book on a "Best-Seller" list, and maybe even win some kind of award or recognition.
I hope we're still financially comfortable.
It'd be nice to have grandkids, so I could spoil them and teach them all the rude songs my Nana taught me.
I hope I spend my days sat in the garden drinking gin and writing trashy erotica.

When I'm 70-80? I hope to have lived a fulfilling life, and corrected all the mistakes I seem to be making in my 20's. Falling in love would be nice, but not necessary. I don't want kids, but I do want to be a social worker, and hopefully some of the kids I help will still be in my life when I'm old. By 70, I want to be retired and living in a little cottage outside of the city with too many cats, a cow, a horse, and a sprawling, wild garden filled with lovely fruits and veggies that I've lovingly grown myself. Mostly, I want to be content.

When i'm old I still want to continue on with my artist career, I plan to either adopt or have kids and maybe they'll have children, so I might have some grand children. I want to live in a nice forest where I can garden ( I know it sounds silly but I already do live in a forest. ) and I think it would be nice if my husbamd would still be lovey dovey with me even if i'm old and that we won't fight often. I always hated how my parents acted more as friends and would bicker about little things. I mainly want to live a calm and peaceful life and not regret it in the end.

umm... I would like to have my own funeral home and be able to have soeone special in my life, mabbe a kid or two preferably a girl ^_^ I would like to be financialy secure and have my bills paid off if not nearly paid off. I would hope to be in good enough health to still be working and working hard at that age, if not I hope I would have saved up enough to retire. I would have liked to go on at least one specal trip somewhere breathtaking and beautiful and to be able to spend enought time there to enjoy it and take pictures. I would like to have matured and not keep making the same mistakes that I do now. I would like to spend my free time reading, making art and music and spending time with those i love ^_^

'd love to be one of those old people who appear to knoe everything.
who've been everywhere, seen everything, and gained a lot of wisdom along the way.
i don't really mind whether i have a partner or not, but i'd like to be surrounded by old and young friends.
i don't mind if i'm well off or not either. i'd like to be healthy and have enough to get by, but luxuries certainly aren't essential.

reality is, i won't live to be 70.
but it would be nice. (:

Most people have said that they want to still be alive and healthy. I'm not sure I do, that's weird I know. But I can't see myself growing up yet.

I would like to have 5 children and then I would probably have tons and tons of grandchildren, the more the merrier! I want to be healthy to enjoy my life and I hope that I am not stressed, and I just want to be an elderly person free of disease..I'm asking a lot but I can always dream!

that's all i want :)

Not gonna lie..... I want to be dead by the time I'm 70. Old people lead miserable lives :( Well, not all old people... Just myself. If I were that old, I would no doubt be depressed/depressing.

I wanna be the crazy old bat int he nursing home that only other elderly inhabitants could possibly find amsuing.

I wanna be that one old lady who hides form the nurses when they are scheduled to bring me my medicine, only to be discovered hiding under the bed and threatening to stab them with a pair of crochet needles if they don't release me and my comrades.

I wanna be that old lady who could be seen being chased down hallways, riding a wheelchair (that clearly isn't mine) and screaming "OOUTTA THE WAY, BITCHES!" As I come hurdling at reckless speeds, knock over anyone who can't jump out of the way quick enough, tossing bedpans to trip pursuers.

The one who, while the security guard is sleeping on his night shift, super glues a pink fro to his bald head.

I wanna have the same ball of energy I have now, but triple the wit and ability to get away with shit. I mean, come on. I could just bat my eyes, smile unknowingly and just say "Whassat sonny? speak up, I'm old." one moment, and then vanish around the corner with Mr. Oldbag's prozac the next, cackling all the way.

Then later, at bingo night, I'll the the one to yell "YAHTZEE" and throw my bingo board, markers and shit up in the air, not caring who picks it up because, frankly, I'm too fucking old to give a rats ass.

On occassion, I wanna try and have walker races with the cute little old man down the hall.

I wanna flush name badges down toilets and bake cookies to lure my captors back into a false sense of security the next day.

I wanna be super sweet and give candies to the good little kids who visit their family, and threaten the bad, screaming children with Tales from Granny's Crypt. Make give the snotty nose brats an earful of vulgarities they can later ask their mommies and daddies about.

I want to be the old woman who mutters and talks to myself, having no control over my own voice or thoughts at that point. Just balls to the walls crazy.

:] Oh, I have a dream.

I don't know wither I can reach that kind of age, but let see...If I will become older with that age, probably by that time I already settled a life that is contented enough. Probably, I am with the person I love and doesn't have any regret to be married with him in the first place. Already have a grand children of three maybe, where in I could reflect myself through them. I would love to cook for them, especially to their parents. By that time as well, I already see all the things here in this world. Still, praying to the God I know and always thanking HIM for every blessings HE gave to me the whole year round I existed in this world. However, by that time as well, i would probably wanted to wish, that when my time comes, I would like to be with my parents, who showed me so much love and so much care, that never in this world I would find it.

Well...with any luck I don't think I want to live to be 70-80 because I think it'd be kind of sad to be at the point where most of your motor functions are gone and such :p
I think it'd be great to be a grandfather or even a great grandfather though :P
Eventually I'll get married...but I'm not in a rush :)

I plan on continueing and staying in my job as a firefighter for as long as possible though
