So I had a chess game yesterday with my friend Tony...
Who probably has not played chess. Ever. Doesn't even know pawns attack diagonally.

So... I was playing him...

And I won by 4move checkmate!

*ahem* I probably shouldn't be so proud. He's just starting.

Speaking of just starting, my friend was teaching my other friend how to play chess. But her parents didn't know she had a friend over, so they hid in the closet and played chess until her parents went away. But the friend teaching my other friend lost. XD

So... anybody ever have to teach their friends chess? Play chess? Tricks of chess? Um... anything about chess? XD

When I play chess, I plan out several moves, and think of different tactics to win =3, I haven't played in FOREVER though. It's one of those board games that no one really likes to play around here. But when I was in school before, I got offered to play a game of chess against this guy who like, ALWAYS plays. And I won, even though I hadn't played for a long time.

And I've heard of four move checkmate. I think I lost against it before *thinks* Yup, I have. I don't know how to preform that move though.

My first little kid crush back in elementary school was the smartest kid in the class... so naturally, he joined the chess club. Me, being little and wanting to impress him, joined as well! (Of course, he still never aknowledged me :stare:) But as the very few years went by, I kept joining that club... not for him anymore, but for me! Turns out, I loved the game and I still play it to this day.
Mind you.. I'm not very good. Tactic is not my strong point.. but it's still fun!

Um, well, I sort of tried to teach myself chess because of Alice Through the Looking Glass, but I've only played twice. :XD I beat my mum though!
...in a game that took over an hour. I think we're equally incompetant!

@Laila Izuka: Yeah, I lost to my friend to that move. So I got my science teacher to teach me it. I was so dumbfounded I never saw it coming. XD

@Liquid Diamond: That's a cute story! :rofl:

Ever since I played chess, though, I plan out everything I'm going to do. I plan my life (well, it's just a plan, really), what happens if this happens, what happens if that happens...
XD

@Huffie: Sometimes, it takes me over an hour to finish a game... Mostly because I think about each move too much. I'd suck at speed chess...:XP

If you're serious about learning how to play chess or even getting better, Chess Master is a great game to utilize. When I was younger I played a lot of chess, practically the only thing to do other than play Monopoly.

I used to play chess, but I took so long to think that I usually got bored and quit. xP

I think it'd be interesting to play someone from here in text move format.

LMAO, that is just a little bit mean. Even I would not do that to someone I was teaching chess to.

Lol, wut? This would have been highly amusing if they had mistimed it, and come out while the parents were still there. "What were you doing in the closet?!" "...Would you believe we were playing chess?" XD

I tried teaching my ex gf how to play chess. Although that did not really get anywhere, as she did not end up enjoying the game at all. Which is sad, as I had purchased a set specifically for teaching her. T_T

As for myself, I play chess. Although I am quite terrible at it.

Agreed very strongly with your thinking. Even though I am very poor at chess, I also find it highly entertaining.

Haha, although I find it is the long games which can be highly entertaining to take part in. An old friend of mine and myself would have games which lasted over an hour. In most of our games we would be fairly equal until the end game.
