what's your BMI?

my bmi is 15.1-15.4 right now, i need to weigh myself again.

a lot of people try and question the validity of body mass index saying that it "doesn't account for muscle."
except i doubt any of you are bodybuilders and so even if that did skew the accuracy of the results, no one here is likely to have 100lbs of pure muscle.

also, muscle really doesn't weigh very much more than fat in the first place.

calculate your bmi here

Mine's 16.5. I'm aiming for 16 which will probably put me at 110 pounds or so.

char!zard 03-16-2010 05:07 AM

My dad's going to get a family membership at the gym here which I'm SO excited for! I need to work on cardio.

21.5 x.x
I ride my bike year round (about 20 mile a day). So yeah.. My legs are pure muscle. Sadly, thats the only muscle I have.

Glad to be the biggest person in this thread.

it's still healthyy, a lot of people probably won't post because they are embarrassed about it. you're active though so it's good.

The Real Nikki 03-16-2010 05:20 AM

Ha, yeah they probably are a little nervous to post.
I'm a little worried about my weight at times because I have my mother's big chest and my boyfriend weights less than me. Not my fault I have hips and eat food. xd

Locaisha 03-16-2010 05:38 AM

16 exactly

mangaturtle 03-16-2010 05:51 AM

No clue, but i'm 6'1 230lbs, and i need to loose some weight. now if i could get some self discipline and get off my ass and go to the gym regularly

The Real Nikki 03-16-2010 05:59 AM

@mangaturtle: it says 30.3
But really, I hate the BMI because it really doesn't count muscle and stuff, sorry. Since you are tall, I think it's fine to be around that weight. My father broke the 200lb last year, but I thought he was fine before. (Not that I'm saying my dad is hot x.x)

pojke 03-16-2010 06:02 AM

bmi takes into account height and i stated earlier that muscle weighs only a very minuscule amount more than fat

ziatenaj 03-16-2010 06:04 AM

Too much.

no, I'm actually chunky, and I'd like to have a flatter stomach and chest. I'd prefer 190-200.. but i do have a fair amount of muscle, so i don;t expect to be under 200.

Sun 03-16-2010 07:03 AM

I'm not sure on my weight or height really, so i couldn't do it acuratly. I have gotten bout 23 in the past though. I need to loose about 2 stones to bring me to my 'healthy' range. I'm working on it...

PaintedApple 03-16-2010 04:03 PM

My BMI is 22.5 so I'm within my healthy weight Yays!

Deviant 03-16-2010 04:16 PM

33.3

But I guess I just find this reading a bit "ironic" considering I can probably lift and run faster than a lot of my 'normal weight,' friends. However, I do confess I'm not in shape like I was a few years ago when I was doing cross country and varsity soccer. I am out of shape, but I'd say I'm far from 'obese.' LOL.

Besides, this calculation definitely doesn't include overall health, or for that matter proportions (like how much fat is actually in good places like boobs, butt, stomach, thighs, etc.) >.>'

SugarRos 03-16-2010 04:38 PM

21.9 XD Yay!

Wynna 03-16-2010 06:08 PM

My BMI says that I am 29.0 but I'm not overweight, really odd.

Well if you’re really active, muscle weighs more than fat, so maybe your muscle tissue is just really dense.

HappyStarr 03-17-2010 03:53 AM

24.3 --Which is funny. It's gone down in the last half year, but it's because I stopped working out and have dropped the muscle weight. I felt much healthier when I was working out every day as a student/teacher of martial arts classes. Granted, I wasn't much over, either. I was around 25.1 before. Drop 10 pounds and see what happens. haha I need to work out some more, get back into things. Losing weight is great and all, but it counts for nothing if you've just gone from toned to flab. XP
