Ha, pillows? That would be amazing to have.
Growing up, each of my siblings and I only had two pillows. So in total we had ten in our room. And any extra went to our parents' bedroom. I remember when they'd have date nights my brothers and I would collect them all and have a pillow-party sleepover thing. That was cozy. ^^
I used to do that at my old house, when my bed was still two mattresses on the floor. My two older sisters and I would steal every unclaimed pillow from the house; our mom's extra ones, the ones from our couch, and most of the times, if the stuffed animals were large enough, we'd take those too. We'd use my room because I had a room to myself, and there would be not a single inch of uncovered carpet. It was amazing.

lostnkunfusion 03-24-2010 09:02 PM

I collect:
*Drawings my brother wants to throw away.
*Really tiny or gigantic items. You know, stuff that isn't normally that size. like baby pens and massive pencils.
*Old Cd's
*Old posters

I don't think that anyone has ever told me I collect something strange. Mostly because my friends are the same way.

I wouldn't spend very much money on it unless I knew that someday it would be worth a lot more than what I paid for it.

I'm not very obsessed with things that I collect. I mean, yeah, I like them, but I won't go to the end of the world just to find something.

~Mau5ie and Kid Diaster: I'm probably sure not all of them do, it's just base on location, right?

Kid Disaster 03-25-2010 01:25 AM

@reddeath26 -- It's kinda funny how accents change. XD
My accent's probably the worst in my group of friends -- which is weird, 'cause I'm the only one of us who wasn't born in this state. Northerners have told me that it's "cute" when I'm on vacation. I'm always tempted to tell them their accents are weird. >_>

@AnimeMoonKitty -- Position does have a lot to do with it. The more fatty the tissue you're getting tattooed, the less it's going to hurt. Although, surprisingly, my wrist tattoo didn't hurt, while the one I got above my ankle did almost make me kick the artist... but I think that's because he hit a nerve.

To a degree I find it quite interesting to look at the accent change in New Zealand. Especially when you do so in relation to the other identity changes that were going on at the same time. Although it is worth noting that I self identify as Pakeha. Which is quite a politically loaded identity in New Zealand. As a result of this self identification my perception of New Zealand history is shaped in a particular angle. Although this is almost dangerous territory for you to enter. As this is something I am passionate about. Indeed because of this, I quite enjoy collecting books which cover topics relating to this, and the implications it had for ethnic minorities in New Zealand. Paul Spoonley for instance has some amazing writing. Although I sadly only have one of his books, I wants to get moar!

As for your peculiar accent, I must admit I am quite curious as to what it sounds like. I also totally laughed at your temptation to call their accents weird.

mau5ie 03-25-2010 03:33 AM

Kid Disaster, he was still HOT!!! mmm!!! i don't know what did it for me with that man.. maybe it was the lips?!

hahaha - what did you tattoo artist do when you kicked him?! lol.

Crazy-Franky101, you should build a little hole in a wall.. and build a teeny tiny room; maybe make it a little bit bigger than the size of a king bed but not tall enough to stand in. just tall enough to knee-walk. and fill that with pillows. and soft cushiony thingies. as a matter of fact it would be cool to have the entire floor covered in a cushion. goodness that would make a perfect reading spot.
and maybe have the wall parallel to the hole opening be windows. @[email protected]
[definitely building one of these in my future house]
i've seen this made before, if i remember and you're still chatting in here i'll find a picture of it and share!

reddeath26,
hmmm.. what would make me insanely jealous?
if i still had feelings, them talking to someone else is definitely going to drive me mad.
or if it were a friends thing, and them having someone when i didn't would make me jealous. simply because i would be lonely.
i don't know. i've never been in that situation to really know how i would handle it.

tropical snowstorm,
so do i. :D
have you seen the alice in wonderland teapot set[s]?

Hamii,
you have a very cute collection of collections! ^^

lostnkunfusion,
why does your brother throw away his art? D:
i'm glad you're keeping them!
what sort of old posters do you collect?

animemoonkitty,
oh yes it is based on location.
the worst one for me was the one on my left side. closer to my lower rib cage.
i thought he was... nevermind. don't want to scare anyone.
the two on my ankle, however, tickled.

AnimeMoonKitty 03-25-2010 03:55 AM

~Kid Diaster: Ouch O_O That had to hurt.

Not gonna lie, I had to look up the term Pakeha, so that I could actually respond properly. From what you've said about the accent shift, and what I read about identifying as Pakeha, I think there is an interesting correlation going on. Do you know if the accent shift was intentional? A conscious effort to put distance between Britain and New Zealand's new identity as a more independent nation?
I have to admit, the whole thing is very interesting. I'm going to have to do some more reading!

I don't know where I could direct you for an example of the accent I'm talking about. D= My microphone's busted, and pretty much every movie "Southern" accent you'll find is either fake or over-exaggerated... It's really terrible!
And most of that desire to tell them that is because when my accent really REALLY comes out, it's cause I'm mad as hell; being told my angry voice is "cute" is insulting. XD

Not even his lips did it for me... He was just funny looking to me. XD He had his good angles, but for the most part... Eh. Maybe my idea of attractive is skewed, though. I don't find Robert Pattinson attractive, when half the nation's swooning at his feet. I kind of think he looks like a foot.

I didn't ACTUALLY kick him; just ALMOST! He felt me kind of twitching, and he stopped, looked at me for a minute, and goes, "You okay?"
He wasn't very talkative. But he did a damn good job! XD

It was a bit, I won't lie, but it wasn't the worst pain I've ever been in, by far. Slamming my finger in the fridge door was about ten times worse. >_> And the end result was totally worth it!

mau5ie 03-26-2010 07:29 PM

kid disaster,
i have been told i have weird tastes in men.
and i really do.
the more unique and unusual the man looks the more i swoon.

robert pattison is puke. if i had to choose i'd pick jakob all the way. he's so damn hot! ^^

i feel better when the artists talk. or i feel stupid because i like to talk. lol.

sternchen 03-26-2010 07:39 PM

what is it that you collect?
cow stuff
shakespeare books
anime

has anyone thought what you collect is strange?
no

what is the highest amount you would spend for said item?
depends what it is and how badly i want it.

how far would you go to acquire something for said collection?
the world wide web, lol.

has it gotten so bad that you could be considered a packrat!?
no, never. theres a new show on tv called hoarders, now THAT would be a packrat. they have to step over stuff in order to go anywhere in the house. crazies.

Kay 03-26-2010 08:37 PM

I don't really have enough to call it much of a collection yet, but books. I absolutely love books. I don't ever remember having to learn how to read. I've been reading books for as long as I can remember. When I get a house of my own someday, I'll have a room( or two or three rooms) just for books.

AnimeMoonKitty 03-26-2010 08:43 PM

~Mau5ie: I won't ask O_O

~Kid Diaster: I've done that XD...lol I've also caught my finger in the car window too XD

mau5ie 03-26-2010 09:13 PM

sternchen,
i've helped a little with the cow stuffs! <3

kay,
that would be a massive library.
it's great to hear that you've been reading since such a young age.
i'd like to one day raise my kids the old fashioned way, with out tv, and see if they too can learn to read at an earlier age.
and hopefully they will love books as much as i do.
:D

animemoonkitty,
ask away! lol.

AnimeMoonKitty 03-26-2010 09:15 PM

Mau5ie: Was he a pervert or a serial killer??? O_O

mau5ie 03-26-2010 09:31 PM

who are you asking about, anime!? <3

I have a strange taste in men, too, apparently.
Three of the guys I find highly attractive that I'm pretty sure most people would disagree with me on: Schuylar Croom, Claudio Sanchez, & Billy Campbell.

I feel better when artists talk, too! The guy who did my last two went all over the board conversation-wise with me; it was great! We went from art to philosophy to video games and every in between. He got a super tip from me. XD

Thankies! I'm going to take the picture off now that you've seen it. Good eyes!! We rearranged the living room since we got the new furniture. Aww yeah the one with her smiling? I thought it was cute, too! She LOVES the rattle, like would be an understatement. I'm pretty entertained by it too. o 3o;; <3

Yeah, lol, she likes the weirdest things. Like when you pretend like you're gonna eat her hands, she LOVES that for some weird reason.. xDD I'm not sure when we're coming again. Probably won't be until some time after zombie leaves.

mau5ie 03-27-2010 03:20 AM
