Why is it strange? I was a prof at two different colleges and it was one of the best jobs I ever had -- it's a beautiful thing to do with your life...

my aunty bakes cakes for supermarkets and she's really good at it and i dnt think it matters if u lack in creativity if u want it so bad and it is ur dream job im sure urll be amazing at it. my dream is to be a musician bcos i love music and i play a few instruments.

When I was younger I wanted to be a writer but when I went to school for it all it took was 2 years and a bunch of deconstructive criticism to destroy my love for it. So now I'm trying my love of story telling in a new medium: animation. Its fun and I love it, I'm just not sure how to make a career out of it yet.
If money wasn't an object I would love to just work at an animal shelter taking care of and loving on all the animals that have been abused and are looking for a good home. Just getting to know them and then seeing them go to a loving home would make my day every time. Even if I was nothing more than a glorified dog walker and pooper scooper, I think I would love to spend my time doing that. Simply just to love on some cute little faces and create some happy wagging tails would be worth it.

Lina - Testing games sounds like a fun job. Unfortunately, I suck at most games.

Monster - A movie director would be a good job, I would think. Maybe a little too frustrating for me? I'm not good at directing others.

angel - Photojournalism would be nice. I'd like to cover news stories by taking pictures and such instead of doing all the writing/talking about it.

Soryko - Good luck publishing your own manga someday!

Dessert - I don't think it's strange to want to be a professor. The world would possibly go downhill if no one wanted to be a teacher. Imagine all the lack of education out there.

Sho - Wow. A lot of people dream of being animators. I hope you enjoy your class.

Mariasha - I don't think it's unrealistic. If you really want it and work hard at pursuing it, it could definitely happen.

Kingdom - What instruments do you play?

Safiah - Working at an animal shelter seems like it would be a very emotionally/spiritually fulfilling job.

Kingdom 07-06-2010 03:16 AM

@First to Never Know I play drums, guitar, ukulele and i'm learning piano atm.

Michy Lea 07-07-2010 12:24 AM

I'd love to learn how to play piano or guitar.

I would loved to be a romance author. And not the porn-in-a-book type romance. I want to write romance novels for young adults. i.e. Sarah Dessen, Susane Colosanti, Judy Bloom....

Also, to be a high school English teacher would be nice too. I like teaching people, meeting hundreds of new people in one day, and I love getting people in trouble. Also, teaching MY way. :)

But I wouldn't mind if I had to be either an editor or a fashion designer. I like re-editing my own stories from time to time. But since I could remember, I've been drawing dress designs. :) I'm also good at art, so that would be a plus.

There's actually good money in animation if you go the right way, as far as I know. I mean, if you wanted to you could go towards things like video games, if that's something you're interested in at all.

@Lilian; I'd love to be a High School teacher too, but for social, not english.

Safiah 07-07-2010 06:30 PM

@Hermes; I know there is a lot of money in it but its REALLY competitive, and for someone like me whose only been doing art for 9 months I'm just not at a point where I'll wow people with my work. Before the economy fell 75% of the graduates from my school were getting jobs, but now its pretty much tanked. Where I live the majority of animation is in video games, which I'm totally okay with I knew before I came out here that video games was the big industry here. I'm just not sure what part of animation or art I'd like to make a career out of. So far I'm average at 3D and don't have enough skill in my 2D. I've got another year of my associates to figure it out and develop my skills and I'm sure there is a place out there for me somewhere. It's just finding it that's the hard part.

Michy Lea 07-08-2010 02:02 AM

Lillian - I'm a sucker for a love story, adult or teen.

I've thought about becoming an editor before.

Good luck in whatever it is you end up doing.

neko xoxox 07-08-2010 08:13 AM

I would love to be an artist or animator, owning a clothe or toy store would also be supper fun! :D

The Wandering Poet 07-08-2010 09:36 AM

My fiance mentioned private tutoring in Japan (teaching Japanese people English) one on one and I think that would be an amazing job... not too many people so I can focus on one thing like I'm good at ^^

Only problem right now is 2 years of college, (for my bachelors) a teaching certificate, being chosen by the jet program, and learning Japanese in order to become completely fluent so I'd actually be helpful...

*sigh* 6 years and counting and I'll have a chance at it too...

Soul 07-08-2010 10:21 AM

I'd love to be a wildlife photographer, but sadly i'm too much of a scaredy cat to get near the wild animals. I guess i'll stick to flowers and nature for now(:

Canielele 07-08-2010 11:52 AM

I want to either be a singer or a biologist. I got straight A's in my biology class, so since I'm good at it, I want to become one. But I'm more into singing.

I'm moving to a place near my favorite store: Hot Topic at the end of this month, so I'm going to apply there and hope I get it.

naidusiuke 07-08-2010 01:02 PM

I do not now what is my dream job but I need to think about it

The Wandering Poet 07-08-2010 08:22 PM

@ naidusiuke - Neither did I for a long time... and though I still don't know my dream job =) I know a job I'd love

Actually ever since I was little I was nagged in school about what I wanted to be when I grew up... I couldn't decide so I just said "ninja" and they left me alone  and said it up until... o.o like 2 years ago (All thanks to a career counciling class at my college)

Well, it's like I always say, you can know what you want to learn without knowing what you want to do with it. That's what I'm doing. =P

Haguruma 07-08-2010 10:48 PM

I've always wanted a job involving the mind. Psychologist, Therapy, anything. I'm going into Occupational Therapy when I get out of High School. <3

Michy Lea 07-08-2010 11:51 PM

neko - Ooh. Owning a clothing/toy store does sound fun.

Poet - Aw, just keep thinking how much it'll be worth it once you're past the years of learning. Good luck getting into the jet program.

Soul - xD I'd be terrified of the wild animals. Pictures of flowers are good! I possibly like pictures of flowers better than actual flowers...

Canielele - Good luck getting the Hot Topic job.

naidusiuke - That's okay. I'm not completely sure about my dream job either.

Haguruma - I wanted to be a psychiatrist/therapist/counselor at one time. I think I'm a good listener. I'm just not so good at the advice-giving part...

xD; Most of the time, that's really all people need. And if you went to school for one of those professions, they'd teach you how to deal with people and how to help. It's not like they give you a book, and patient, and just throw you into a room together. xDD;;;

Michy Lea 07-09-2010 01:46 AM

Yeah, I took a psychology class in high school. My teacher said a lot of history classes were involved in getting a degree in psychology. I'm not so good at history...

Tezonic 07-09-2010 02:31 AM

I'd want to be a web designer. ^__^"
I'm not picky with where though, but I'd love to be with a team of gaming sites for web designing, so much more worth it so you don't have a mind explosion from not being able to think of something new.

Abduco 07-09-2010 03:57 AM

I want to work in a hospital. I'd just like to be able to help people. Plus it wouldn't be too boring.

The Wandering Poet 07-09-2010 06:28 AM

@ Abduco - True never boring... but rumor has it hospital staff never get to sleep @[email protected]
