@ First: Yep, reptiles only. There aren't any specialty stores in this area and when I used to work at a chain pet store people would always ask me if there was one around here so I know the market would be good for it. I will probably expend to having fish and other hard goods later on down the road though.

Ophelia - I'll check it out. I'm always looking for more stuff to read.

Mystic - It sounds like a good business to venture into, sounds like it may be profitable.

My "dream job" or sorts is actually to be an actuary. People think it's really funny that at my age I aspire to do something so incredibly "boring", but working in actuarial science provides a source of fairly steady income. The only downside is the ten-or-so extremely difficult exams that must be taken to join the Fellowship. Good news is that passing the exams (and doing good work) can possibly earn one a salary of $150,000 or more, if one is working with a good firm and works really hard.

I'd love to be an author or composer in my spare time, though. I love literature and music but I wouldn't want to rely on them for income.

I will say that I recently had a very fun job. I worked as a game adviser at a video game store. I was only part time and it was a temporary position, but it was sooooo much fun! Talking to people about video games for your job almost feels like cheating! When we didn't have customers in the store we would just organize games and the store or talk with other employees about games. I never really looked at my watch on a shift because it was so enjoyable.

However, my dream job is to be a microbiologist in industry. I recently obtained my bachelor's degree, have some prior research experience and am currently trying to find employment with some big-name pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, etc. Since I have relocated, the search is going much better to my relief. I just think it would be very rewarding to do the research I love, but the knowledge go to things that are useful to everyday people (new drugs, medical devices, food, etc).
